Yeah those cats were not playing with Stan in 1972. Alan Yankee Jeff Uusatello Terry Laine etc were classmates at MHCC I was fortunate to play bari with McVey/Barduhn Spring tour 1975 as Gary Bashue was poisoned while applying pesticides and almost died.
Fond memories. My first exposure to big band jazz was hearing Stan Kentons Orchestra in concert at my college in about 1972. It really was "instrumental" in developing my interest in jazz. My last live concert with Kenton was a few years later in about 1975. I still search out concerts by my local jazz band.

i get an incredible rush every time i hear one of these high powered kenton tunes. gotta like those leisure suits that were all the rage back in the 70s.
Jay played a Getzen Eterna w a Schilke 14A4a (that's what he was using w CHASE and w Kenton when he joined) then later switched to a Calicchio 1s2, I think Steve Campos played a Conn
I’m glad more of this concert is appearing. I wish they would stop labeling it as 1972. It’s the 1976 band on the fall ‘76 European tour.
