Just did this to our 2018 Explorer and it worked fine. Put one key in (buttons toward front of vehicle), push Start on/off, replace with second key (did within 5 sec) and push Start button on only. Security key number showed up in dash and stayed until I pushed on/off off. Worked like a charm! Thanks.
I did exactly the same process but didn’t work with my lincoln mkz hybrid 2017, and also looked under the steering wheel but none of the codes worked. Is there any other option . Thanks!?
Does not work for a 2007 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series? I need to know how to obtain the code for that vehicle. It is not in the trunk on the passenger side or anywhere in the trunk.
2018 focus titanium. I found a flat key icon at the bottom of the center console, but can’t tell if there is a way to lift It and reveal a slot. I tried placing the keys flat on it, but that did not seem to work. Would appreciate any help.
**SOLVED** I tried to do it this guy's way.... didnt work after 40 tries. Than I remember working on my cadi regarding replacement key fob. one IMPORTANT THING that is not mentioned......SPEED!!!! okie. .this worked after I did it my way. everything is the same except the part where you have to use the second key. so, same as video say... put the key face up (key button faces the front of the car and logo faces towards you. Turn your car accessory on (car on but not engine) . wait four sec. turn the car off. QUICKLY replace the key and put the second key the exact same way. turn the car accessory on and look at the screen.. Your code by just flash for 2 second or stay on. my lincoln 2020 aviator flashed for just 3 -4 seconds and went away. hope that helps..... good luck everyone.
That automatically means if you are the second owner and don't have the second key then that feature is not for you. No doubt people like me careless about it.
That's all well and good if you paid through the nose for a fancy new car, but what about us who don't throw a house of cash out the door just for a fancy car?

My Ford Edge came with only one key fob and no pass code. I bought a new key fob on EBAY and had a Ford dealer program it ($60). They didnt charge me to retrieve the passcode.
I dont know what you drive but I seen a video here on YT where they show a video on a Ford Fusion and there is a module in the drivers kick panel that has the passcode labeled right on it.Maybe the same thing on yours.
I have the same year and it also wouldn’t work. However I turned my key the opposite way of what he stated (key logo facing the rear of the vehicle) and then it worked
