Before shooting the last moments of the movie, Donald Pleasance told John Carpenter that the final scene could be done two ways for the facial expression of Dr. Loomis seeing that Michael was gone from the lawn after being shot and falling: "My god, he's not there but he should be", or "I knew he would be gone". Carpenter agreed that the latter choice was the best.

I love the background ticking and noise and the lack of the high-pitched "strings" instrumentation (played at the end) so much better on this original mono version than the "remastered" version.
