Absolutely fantastic Brampton mods. I have been dreaming of a fatter tire for my Brompton. Did the Camino De Santiago in fall of 2019 and there were so many places i wanted a fatter tire. Please add audio to your vids and talk about your Brompton mods. Thanks from Seattle.
I abosultely adore my Brompton. It is the bike I use the most and this looks like the best solution to avoid being launch into space every time you ride over a leaf.
Brompton should redesign their bike line to 20 " wheels just line the one you've created, their business would skyrocket to the limits. Would be great to do just the front forks and rear triangle. I can't get this wonderful concept out of my head. I need to go out for a Bike ride .thanks
Sheesh.. if I’d had that Brommie, I’d not gone for the gravel bike recently purchased. I do like my M3L, but this was slick. Love the mods and the engineering shots
I would love to do this, but having a spine injury I have to keep as much as is possible to smoother terrain. Your upgrades hugely increase the versatility of the Brompton and its great to see innovation.
I am also a satisfied, parts Customer by Vincent, but I admit that the small tyres on a Brompton rolls "less efficient" so I could imagine that wider tyres are more comfortable, but even less easy rolling? A Brompton is a "horrible bike" but for its purpose it is a fine compromise.
Cool video and it real enbodies the spirit of small wheel off road riding! I have loved riding gravel for the last 2 years of a folding bike. Unfortunately the mini-velo smalll wheel designs have not caught on in North America and Europe. I have only ridden a Brompton once but I would never ride off road on 16 inch wheels. It is too twitchy. 20 inch is about as small as you can get and still have some stability. You do get beat up a little more with smaller wheels but I find it is part of the challenge. It is definitely easier getting to destinations not having to haul a bike bag for a full size bike along. I know this is a few months old but I hope you are finding success in your business.
Thanks Harry, I always loved the challenge of mild off roading with a Brompton, but since I tried 18" and later on 20" I don't want to go back to 16" anymore, it almost feels like a 26" mountainbike and still has a fairly compact foldable size. My latest customer came back from the first test ride on his own Xplorer with a smile from ear to ear saying "this bike is insane!" ....
I have a heavily upgraded Raleigh Twenty as well as a stock Brompton, and agree that the difference is huge between 20x1.75 and 16x1.35. I can ride the Twenty on just about anything. I really want to upgrade to an Xplorer in the future and cover both bases!
@@LostBoyScout Found this video on cycle touring on a Raleigh Twenty when you brought it up. I was not sure what it was, but it looks like a bike built to last. ruclips.net/video/iL3tbgQZoDI/видео.html
You know your job and you have the right equipment 👌Excellent piece of art-how did you manage to braze on the postmount for the disc brake? These tubes are really thin...🤔
This is one of the most impressive Brompton related videos I've ever seen. I can't imagine how much it would cost for one of these but I'm so impressed with your technical skill and ability and that amazingly polished and gorgeous finished product! I got into welding and was on my second semester (4 th actual course plus intro to Metallurgy and heat treat) when I found out I'm prone to heat exhaustion and actually had a blackout during class 😅 so I have just a taste of what it takes to make something like this and again, damn I am impressed!
thanks man, heat exhaustion because of the heat during welding or a heat wave in your area? Hope the first as you can't do much about the latter, cheers Vincent
@@eerdermetaal73 I was wearing leather sleeves and an open chest, it was warm in the shop but I was doing a little project where I was Brazing and Welding and started not feeling well and then just blacked out and vomited. I'd been struggling, feeling pretty nauseous off and on and it was just closing my up in leather even if it wasn't super hot because I don't regulate body heat as well as most other people I guess. I did have the forethought when things started spinning to make the guy next to me take my torch before I blacked out and hit the floor 😅 The only basic form of welding I hadn't really tried yet was TIG welding. I was ready to take the shielded metal arc welding certification so it was a pretty big blow when I realized welding was something I probably shouldn't start a career in 😅 Your tig lays so nice as well! Beautiful work!
I stopped taking new orders as I have a huge backlog, but you can order my other parts though, have a look at the Eerdermetaal webshop on eerdermetaal.nl
I would buy one 🧐 - looks fun … 5500 € for 1 bike. 😟 that’s 1 normal 6 speed + 1 electric together. 2899€ for just the conversion kit. 😅 a bit expensive don’t u think?
Hi Mr T, It doesn't really make sence to compare a bespoke handmade product with mass production prices. Let alone the development cost or time (depends how you prefer to look at it) spent to create this machine and level of perfection. Don't want to brag about my own product, but I have spent an insane amount of time with the certainty that I will never get a return of investment as this expensive machine is just a sum of labour involved and parts used. No development cost are incorporated in the sales price. I payed for the cost in the form of pure joy and a lower income. Cheers Vincent
CuSi3 is my favourite, also works on stainless steel, CuSn6 is easier to work with but less strong, still never failed on me or my customers, amerage below 85 I think, always work with a foot pedal, which is highly recommended, a good one also makes a difference, now one from Rehm, my previous one from a chinese manufacturer was hard to modulate
CuSi3 is my favourite rod, use a good foot pedal so you don't have to worry about amperage. Without it is a problem, you shouldn't melt the base metal, which is really hard without a pedal unless it's mass production work, then you can dial it in
Amazing brompton bike! What are all the modifications you've made? How many speeds? What is the wheel and tire size? Is it the same brompton regular size 16" tire size or you were able to fit a 18" or 20"? I love this fat tires, could you please send me a link to them or send me the name of this tire? Thanks!
about the same as the original Brompton, just a little bigger. Check out the beginnning of the video and my instagram account to see and learn more about it
If this is a product advertisement for something you custom make then it's the best product advertisement I've ever seen
LOVE the name Life Unfolding.

Is this a commercial for Keen sandals or Brompton?
neither one :-))
Nice bike build👍I’m thinking of using tig brazing on my bike frame. What bronze filler rod do you use? Amperage?

Will u reopen for order at 2024?
maybe in 2025 or 26, next year is full unfortuantely
Why brompton is still not producing this bike ? :(
yeah good question, they do have a prototype bike ready for a couple of years now
