wow, thanks! so cool! I just added lxqt today to my ubuntu and found exactly what i was looking for here! maybe even more if it works on my gnome 3 (will check that later)
This way of making a dark interface on LXQT will not work on Gnome, but you can change the look of Gnome by installing Gnome Tweaks and changing the theme to a dark theme. Thanks for watching and I'm glad this helped.
@@joesalyers , thanks. yes, about gnome 3 I knew already how to have dark themes, I just wondered with that package here if it will add themes and shells to my gnome 3, but as you said, it didn't . anyway, thanks again for that video, my lxqt looks much nicer now.
@@nietzschescodesKvantum will work only with QT5 apps like LXQT and KDE plasma. But you can get Gnome themes from gnome-look.org because Gnome is GKT while LXQT is QT. Hope this helps!!
I don't have Lubuntu or LXQT installed on a machine right now but I might whip up a virtual machine to show you, but you can pin apps to the taskbar by going into the system settings and adding a "pinned app" to the taskbar you can find this option by right clicking on the panel then choose configure panel and the options to add an app are under the widgets tab. Thanks for watching have a nice day.
Music Factory Studios Thanks so much for the response. I am familiar with pinning apps to the panel, But when I click the icon on the panel, I want it to behave similar to windows, where the app instances are layered on top on that icon. Thanks again for replying! It’s always appreciated! Going to check out more of your vids now!
@@nikluz3807 You can't stack them but you can make them more like the icon only task manager in KDE. You just have to make the icons smaller. I would always change my icons to be 50x50 and this made the LXQT panel work like the KDE option called icon only task manager. But I'm not aware of any way to stack them like Windows. I wish I could help, but I'm not sure how to do that. Maybe you should add a feature request to the LXQT developers. They are very nice and it might be easy to add to the desktop.
Music Factory Studios awesome! I will do that. And if I tinker enough maybe I will find a way to stack. If I do, I’ll let you know. I’ll send the request in to the devs :)
I did not want lubuntu 20.04, but am installing on 15 gb Chromebook, replacing the Chrome OS. The other (prettier) flavors of Ubuntu 20.04 (e.g Mate) were leaving me with too few gbs, so resorting to ugly lubuntu. My point: I appreciate the video! Plus, happy to discover Tilix too. Having the terminal inputs pasted into the comments would have been nice.
Lubuntu has it's perks when used on lower powered hardware like a Chomebook or an older laptop. I think that Lubuntu and the LXQT desktop have SO MUCH potential. I use an install of Arch with LXQT as a music playback system at my recording studio's office and it has been running for about 3 years now. The machine is never turned off except to reboot every 3 months or when I can remember to do a reboot for updates. Thanks for watching!
idk about the CPU, but I can chime in and say you have plenty of RAM. I'm on a 2009 netbook and I could do some things with 1 GB of RAM and it was not amazing fast but unexpectedly fast for this type of device. Intel Atom CPU N455 1.66 GHz. I've since upgraded to 2 GB RAM. I think you should be set.

I'm glad this was useful still!! Cheers and thanks for watching!!
