Ok, wow, something’s wrong with RUclips. Well, I guess I should explain my situation, considering this seems to be something I’m going to need an experienced sound designer for.
Basically, although I’ve lost count of the exact number, this is quite possibly the 50th RUclips video I’ve found in my search for free-to-use magic sound effects, and I’ve still not found what I’m looking for... I thought I would have at least been finding better results by now, but it’s been kind of the opposite.
As for what I’m looking for, I’ll post a detailed description for all of the SFX I’m looking for in a reply. Anyway, I guess it’s time to wait and see if this works out.
Before I get into the main bulk of this comment, I’m going to let you know one thing: this is going to be a very long comment. Despite this, I highly advise that you read every word of it. If you do not understand what I mean at any point in this comment, please ask me to explain what I mean in a better way.
Anyway, these sound effects are going to be used in my fan made Ultra Series, “Ultraman Kejadian”. Unfortunately, any character who uses magic in the series will have their own version of these sound effects, unique from everyone else’s versions. For example, although some characters could just use the same SFX as another character’s magic with a different pitch and/or with an echo, or perhaps some other effects, many cannot be that simple.
As a result, to make it easier to understand this comment, I’ve divided the sound descriptions into categories. Each magic-using character in the series has their own category. I know that I didn’t put any actual character names, but I did that for good reason: I don’t want to ruin any surprises I have planned for the series.
With all that out of the way, here’s the descriptions:
-Character 1:
-Sound Description 1: “A buildup of magical energy. It should sound similar to a Tesla coil building up electric current, but the crackling of the electricity is quieter and much slower, albeit being the same pitch as normal electricity, and there is a humming sound that is easier to hear than the crackle. To describe the humming sound, think of it as the hum of fluorescent lights at a lower pitch, albeit sounding humanly vocal, but only slightly. Remember, this is a buildup sound, so it should start out quiet and gradually become louder.
-Sound Description 2: “A spherical blast of magical energy, when immobile. It should sound similar to a Tesla coil building up electric current, but the crackling of the electricity is quieter and much slower, albeit being the same pitch as normal electricity, and there is a humming sound that is easier to hear than the crackle. To describe the humming sound, think of it as the hum of fluorescent lights at a lower pitch, albeit sounding humanly vocal, but only slightly. Remember, this is a sound for an immobile energy blast, so it should be mostly level in terms of volume throughout.”
-Sound Description 3: “A spherical blast of magical energy, when thrown. It should sound similar to a Tesla coil building up electric current, but the crackling of the electricity is quieter and much slower, albeit being the same pitch as normal electricity, and there is a humming sound that is easier to hear than the crackle. To describe the humming sound, think of it as the hum of fluorescent lights at a lower pitch, albeit sounding humanly vocal, but only slightly. Remember, this is a sound for a thrown energy blast, so there should be additional sounds of wind to make it sound like it is moving through the air.
-Character 2:
