    Why use a robot instead of a gantry system? the gripper stays level?

      i'm not part of this project, but if i had to guess, it's because "it's what's out there" ... these things are tough, they withstand dirt and dust, the have good support from reputable companies, usually friendly control software too. in my job, the difference between a $100k machine and a $250k machine is usually 1)customer service 2)good and friendly software.

    Arms would be great as a final QA step. But on the front end I imagine 360 degree AI HD cameras, a very fast continuous circular conveyor belt that pops up materials so some high powered blower can redirect even the heaviest of items. But what about smaller onsite systems that help retain materials that could be processed and used right on the demo site so no need to transport and burn more fuel.
