I'd imagine you know enough history to know phoenicians spoke Assyrian Aramaic, and worked for/ with them, and had the same culture. Lebanese history 101 to the historically challenged a-rabs: if you're a-rab, you're NOT Lebanese. Arabs hate their Saudi roots... God Bless Assyrians, Armenians, Israelis, and our Persian brothers.

It is terrible how the Assyrians have been persecuted for so long and how no one will help them. They are the forgotten original culture of Iraq - the cradle of civilization.

The idea of family traditions in a wedding in my opinion is so enduring, your asking for a friend to come to a union of two families and no matter where these families come from their traditions should come with them, the idea of having to lose everything from your old life because you moved to Canada or moved to the states is disgusting and a horrible thought. In a world where you want to be different and authentic you need those symbols of your past and ethnicity.

This is really cool but Assyrian weddings have way more traditions and customs this was a very watered down and whitewashed wedding. We have traditional clothes and rituals this is very very Americanized.
