This time, he can see.
This is based on a true story about king kamehameha
ahahahhah bro i just wanted to comment how this reminds me on his tv series see and i see your comment ,hilarious
@regular6025the first king of Hawaii, born in Kohala who united the islands and got a statue?
I Know a few Kamehamehas.
@bishopwhite1822yeah the one who united the kingdom of Hawaii
@regular6025he shares a similar origin to Krishna. Maybe they are friends.
finally jason momoa got a role as his own tribe and his own blood as a polynesian you should be proud jason for being able to play a role in a historical film of your own people
100%
His mother is white/european
@SiloGrain so what
@crypto9619he should be fighting for the other side
@SiloGrain Does blind ignorance make you feel superior?
Being raised on Maui and O'ahu, I got goose bumps watching this. All those years studying Hawaiian history in grade school and learning about Kamehameha I and unifying the islands... I never thought I'd see the day! Day one watch!
Same here. Did they bring a Kumu in once a week for you too? I remember that and learning to play the Ukulele. Real different experience for us than the kids on the Mainland.
Kamehameha's "unification" of the Hawaiian islands was based on his invasion of neighboring Hawaiian islands, the use of superior force including Western technology (guns and cannons), and upon political machinations.
His successful conquests were also fueled by "competing forces operating within Hawaiian society," (i.e. fighting among the Hawaiian chiefs of those other islands who opposed him) and also influenced by foreign interests represented by men like Captain George Vancouver.
Other than the use of violence, I can't quite figure out exactly what his claim to be the "king of Hawaii" was based on, as he had no moral authority to claim any such thing.
All in another language. I don't like to read my movies.
not goosebumps, mana or ihi!
Jason is producing some great projects. The last one was "See" and it was spectacular for 3 seasons. Now this. I'll be tuning in.
Best Apple TV show. The first season is so special.
SEE is under appreciated AF. It was given the absolute worst title though really because prefixing any kind of search with 'See' seriously confuses search algorithms. You can search and find stuff about it but it's unfortunate name really does hamper it a lot. I consistently find almost no one I ever speak to has heard of it. It had so much more potential than it was given.
"See" was OK but this one not... they started repeating him on same roles just like he was on See and GoT but this one is not because its washing out already..
I usually like his work & tried to watch See but couldn't get past the preposterous concept of everyone being blind & building a society around it.
In hindi available here
Oahu born and raised...doesn't matter how far away I've moved or how long I've been away.Hawaii will always be my home.
Me too. ❤❤❤
Word to tua-man
Same here. Now on the 9th Island
Hasnt been your home since you left
Same. Kaimuki Grad
As a Hawaiian Im very proud to call myself Hawaiian to see my Polynesian culture come to life it bring a tear to my eye
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Iorana, Pehe Koe.
I got really emotional watching this. Jason Momoa is one of my favorite actors-not just because he’s good at acting, but because of his charisma and the respect he shows for traditions and Polynesian culture. Every time he gets the chance, he brings a piece of it to the screen, helping people discover it.
And if you add the great Temuera Morrison to the mix… uuufff. And then they talk about our culture? That got me instantly.
As a wargamer, especially in DBMM, I play a Hawaiian army led by Kamehameha I, and seeing my favorite troops-the S-class pikemen-with feathered helmets, crests, and cloaks… it really hit me emotionally. Although, yeah… that way of throwing pikes? Well, I won’t ask for a history lesson-this is pure excitement!
As someone who is half Chilean and half Rapa Nui, I truly love all Polynesian culture.
YOur land was stolen by the US
3:02 🎉
Was your family upper caste or lower caste Hawaiian?
Finally a show about Polynesian warriors not the same, Romans, Greeks, Knights or Vikings
We don’t even really get romans or Greeks in high budget anymore anyway unless it’s a reboot, so even more lucky to get this about the Polynesian’s
@irw8367 they’ve done Romans and Greeks dozens of times but the most is knights and Vikings those two are the most overrated warriors groups in history right next to samurai
YAAAASS!!! Finally.
@irw8367 yeah we do. We just got Gladiaror 2. Odyssey coming. How to Train Your Dragon. Northman. a million shows. 😂 you must be joking
Yes, but i feel like its always the same european countries. So many other places to explore! @regular6025
I love this..i been saying man..Pacific Island history is underrated...there alot of figures and stories who deserve a series or something and Kamehameha is one of em😊😊
The accomplishments of the pacific peoples are extraordinary. The courage and intelligence to spread across the unfatherly large ocean are incredible.
The only story i know is Moana so I'm happy this show is for adults
My first introduction to Kamehameha is from Dragon Ball
"underrated" give me a break
@tordb no breaks given cause its true
what a privilege to see my hometown Zamboanga City being featured in this movie, it's such an overwhelming feeling to see the glimpse of my beloved city of Zamboanga, the latin city of the Philippines. Kudos to the production team for creating this movie!
yes something i too learnt from this series never aware of don't know why Philippines do a movie about it tbh
Donde man tyene ba?😂
I can feel the Mana already. As a kanaka maoli myself, I am proud of this. I’m proud to be Hawaiian and I love my people and my culture. Mahalo nui loa, Iakona Momoa! I’m proud of you, kanak!
Yo soy de Isla de Pascua
This is the comment I was looking for. Looking forward to this series!
hopefully the rock doesnt whitewash this
he from Waianae side too!!!!!!! cheeeeeeee
@Caterina_111-b3qaloha prima!!!!!! ¿Podrías decirnos algo en Rapa Nui, por favor? Fui a una protesta en Hawái por los derechos de los hawaianos y conocí a un hombre de Rapa Nui. ¡Sostenía tu bandera!
If you have ever had the privilege to be in Hawaii and I don't mean tourist Hawaii but local Hawaii, you'll know how important a series like this is. Polynesian people are rarely recognized. Their culture is unique and life changing. I spent time in Hawaii as an adolescent and then as a teen. When I left in 1989, I left a piece of my soul there; upon my death, my cremated remains will be spread there. I'm excited to watch this series.
Wipe your mouth, not that serious
As someone from a country plundered and brought to its knees by colonialism and whose history is also rarely acknowledged, I totally get how important this must be for Polynesians in general and Hawaiians in particular. That's why I was very excited when this show was announced, and now that we finally get to watch it, I must say that it is an absolute gem of a TV series, beyond expectations.
It’s really not that important chill out.
@JJ10764 Well, it is to us and your opinion on how we should feel is completely irrelevant.
@lsamoa ❤🤙
I was on Big Island 2 months ago and i read the history of Kamehameha. It is simply mind blowing. The more you read it, the more you visit all the monuments, the more it immerses you inside it. Absolutely fascinating and love that Jason Mamoa is bringing it to life
Dragon ball fans aren’t going to take that name seriously now. :)
@thribs i thought he was making a joke... is that really what its called? what about their neighbors to the south living on galac gun and to the north on special beam cannon
Kamehameha was absolutely BRUTAL to his political opponents especially on other islands. Read up about what he did to hundreds perhaps THOUSANDS of native Oahuans at the foot of those beautiful lush green mountains on the North Shore. That area is basically a giant cemetery.
@RichardSchiffman-m8v Civil wars are never pretty to resolve, and Kamehameha was a master of war, and brutal by our standards, but not out of the bounds of his society. TBH, Augustus and Lincoln had to make similarly tough calls to bring their respective civil wars to a close. All three figures have come to be seen as great leaders today.
Jason Momoa and Temuera Morrison. Heck yeah!! Sad to see no one noticed Temeura Morrison in most comments. Jango, Boba Fett and the Clones deserve more respect!!
I did that's the cousin from NGO Rangi wewehi - ROTORUA.
brah you have to watch Once Were warriors… TemuerA is in it. it’s based in New Zealand
Temuera is such an underrated actor
Jake the Muss 👑
Also Cliff Curtis AKA Uncle Bully. A fantastic actor who has had some pretty versatile roles.
Finally, a series that explores Hawaiian history and culture! The visuals are stunning, and the action sequences look intense. This is a must-watch for me. So excited to see Jason Momoa in 'Chief of War'!
I hear you BUT I'm worried that people are going to take this as history. I hope they explore what happened when the Hawaiians took over and killed the original tribes living there. There has been this social justice push using shame of the ancestors to shame us into not being whacist so others can profit. Destruction or disappearing of founding father statues while reverse narratives such as Woman King (the Dahomey WERE slavers and the war was actually the Europeans STOPping slavery) the reverse technique of their historic revisionism. Hope it's good!
They're in Cuba and fighting against Fidel Castro not Hawaii
@jimboh.2654either way, it looks epic
I was saying the same thing. I wonder if this show will stay close to the true history of what happened in the Hawaii Islands back then? I want to see this!
@jimboh.2654 what
Watched the first episode and have not felt this way about anything in years. INCREDIBLE
well you have me sold
Jason Momoa is the perfect fit for all kinds of movie. Dude's got it all 💯
Dang, Moana 3 looks gritty af
😂😂😂
dead af🤣☠
Polynesian culture is so underrated this is better then making movies about Vikings and knights so overrated
3 looks?
Ha Ha Ha your English is so bad RUclips thinks it's a foreign language.
Polynesian culture and history is beautiful and has a story worth being told a million times over. So grateful for my years living in Hawaii! Hawaii Aloha Nui Loa!
Jason momoa was born for this role ❤❤
The Khaal Drogo Look 🔥
Now he has become the "Khan Genkidama"... ... ... MACHINES!!!
Samoan 🇼🇸
It’s his only look.
Dothraki
😭😭😭😭😭 I miss my Khallll
As a Māori, I'm so happy to see our Kanaka Maoli cousins having their stories told. Polynesia has so many stories to share with the world-but they need to be told the right way, and from what I've seen so far, this is amazing. I whakaatu tēnei i te mana me te whakahī o te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa katoa.
Would love to see someone take on the stories of the South Pacific Islanders we have many battle stories Fiji Tonga & Samoa even in our village we have burial grounds from battles that was fought on our shores in our village. Even to this day many Fijians on Viti Levu haven’t heard of our battle stories in Vanua Levu with Samoan & Tongans way before the Europeans started sailing down to the pacific . The fight between the brothers Fiji Tonga Samoa should be told
My dad took my family to the Pali Lookout 25 years ago. I remember him saying "They will make a movie of this someday, if they haven't already."
That's pretty dope! The Battle of Nu'uanu is almost identical to the battle of Troy. 50k warriors coming on 1000 ships.
Momoa is making some interesting movies. Seems like he is totally in his element in this movie. Can't wait to see it.
@tadasdovii8262 he's produced multiple things, and this Chief of War he wrote and produced and acted in. So yes he is MAKING
It’s a mini series
Poor choice of words: "totally in his element"
@PolarBearVolcano Yes, I admit I was totally Legally Blond with my post (l love that movie) but what I meant was Momoa played roles in other movies that did not compliment or bring out his acting skills as well as this one. Lately these movies just like the Aquaman movies show his strengths as an actor.
@rtgrajedaminersedu wait, foreal? Im sad af.
Its wonderful to see the stories of our Cousins from the Pacific. As a Peruvian I take great pride in the stories of my ancestors. I hope to see new stories from lands beyond the horizon.
Lol you still think you’re related lol.
@inyomoufizaWabbitIn Hawai’i, we all cousin. Don’t take it literal
I mean Polynesians did populate Easter Islands which are off the coast of South America
Looks really great! I wish they made more historical epic shows/movies about Polynesians and Indigenous peoples of the Americas like that.
Ka Whawhai Tonu. Is worth watching,
The pacific island nations are nowhere *near* the Americas.
Expect it's warchief not chief of war
There are quite a few really good ones. Just not Hollywood style
@jimboh.2654 Yes, but I like my version better 😉
SEE is still on Apple TV top 10 after all these years. Jason Mamoa back with another magical picture
Because there’s not a lot on apple tv 😅
I’m not Hawaiian but I lived on the Big Island for almost a decade. I’m so excited to see this.
Not sure why this makes me so emotional, but is finaly here, the one movie about his own people, this is probably it, the movie Jason wanted to make all his life and is now here, I am so excited to watch.
Exactly what I was thinking too 😊
I knew he was one of the pacific islanders. Couldn't remember if it was Hawaiian or Samoan.
@KentPetersonmoney Jason's father is Hawaiian.
So am I
Jason Mamoa is just the perfect actor for these kinds of movies. He carries it like crazy. He is so skilled and impressive! :D
He's really good in stuff like this and GOT - those are the roles he should stick to.
😅😅😅😅😅😅
@mentaltelepathy24 His greatest regret was taking the GOT role because it scaled down his career to only being seen and recognized as a good portray of barbaric roles.
@TCP11EMC Might have point here. :)
I’m not Polynesian. My ancestral native is Caribbean (Taino). But I love seeing all the beautiful colours on these beautiful faces. ♡︎
hopefully this will ignite more flicks for indigenous people around the world
So hyped to see the story of Ka'iana and King Kamehameha!! Can already see them catching spears and lifting the Naha Stone, hoping this is a faithful retelling
Made by Kanaka for Kanaka in our own Olelo language. I have no doubt it will be a very faithful retelling.
This is not Paiea’s story
@spartasown808Oh wait you're right, I looked it up, Jason Mamoa is Ka'iana. My bad, though still excited to see Paiea's rise
king kamehameha????😭😭
I can’t wait. 🎉
Ka Pai To Mahi, Matua Momoa ❤️❤️💪💪✊️✊️
Proud Mexican here, wife is Hawaiian, and we’ve always watched movies about Mexico and everything Mexico related. I remember talking to my wife and saying this is something big, for the first time in the big screen we have Hawaiian representation. This is what Polynesian people need!! we saw it on Friday and it was great. We can’t wait for the rest of the episodes.
lets hope this is a pathway for more stories for mexicans... abboriginals... eskimos... melanesia... our stories are so much neglected! why im so thankful for jason mamoa!
Racist
Finally, a movie/series about the warriors of the South Pacific!
It's really sad what has happened to these strong brave people.
You say people, more accurately they were colonisers. Because they weren't white, we have to ignore that part of history. It doesn't fit the narrative.
Hawaii is not in the South Pacific
Hawaii isn't in the South Pacific you donut it's in the North xD
Ka Whawhai Tonu, a movie about warriors of the South Pacific
1:49 I am just a simple man, making his way through the ocean. Like my father before me
This series are the best historical drama that i watch in 2025. Season 2 would be hard since it will compete with Shogun.
to us polynesians this is a win win no matter if it dont get season 2... any culture outside white be lucky to have there historical stories be told.. such a shame but ya know.. all these karens out there be crying if there be too much diversity
Season 2 probably won't be made or at least it'll be a whole different story
As a Kanaka Maoli, this looks awesome. Looking forward to the story of Ka'iana.
Kia ora. I'm Maori, from Aotearoa/New Zealand. It does look awesome.
Aloha @sasquatch8268 As fellow Polynesians, from Melbourne Australia (NZ born Samoan/Tongan) we are super excited to see our fellow cousins/aina in sharing Kamehameha and Ka'iana stories ❤
At least we know this movie has a happy ending, with Oprah buying up a whole bunch of their land 😆. No seriously, this does look legit and definitely going to watch
Finally... another 'serious' JM project. Love the goofy side, but his serious characters are intense. This looks awesome!
I love Hawaii i always loved learning about my culture it's awesome to see the warriors hit the big screen
I can hardly wait for this to air on 08/01/2025. Finally, a story of our people (Polynesians), by our people, made with our people! Now, the world will see! Hopefully this will open more doors for future Polynesian storytellers. We owe a huge debt to the people, like Jason, who came together to make this project happen. Mahalo Nui !
Temuera Morrison getting his well-deserved flowers as well. If you never seen him in "Once Were Warriors", it tells the other side of the coin from this new project - how the proudest, fiercest people in Polynesia, the Maori, struggle with being second-class, forgotten people in their homelands in modern times.
Cliff Curtis at 1:53
🙄
In 1994 there was a little-known and underappreciated historical Polynesian movie shown from the perspective of the indigenous peoples. It was titled, "RAPA NUI". It chronicles the final years of the ecological and social decline of Rapa Nui (Easter Island) perhaps around the early 1700s. The building of the moai statues continues unabated while the ecological resources of the island collapse ultimately leading to social collapse and civil war.
We now know that's not what happened
Honestly one of the best series I've watched, Jason and Apple TV absolutely nailed it yet again
yes don't need action to sell a story
@samoanPOVthat's true,I really hope they make a second series
This makes sense. You go visits anywhere in Hawaii and the historical sites say, “a big battle was fought here.”
This is best tv show i had seen in years if not decade.
Few moments are questionable, but this show is worth time and i hope will have continue.
Thank you for telling me when the trailer starts, seriously I didn't know when
Trailers have been doing that for ages.
@naustinfipecto6104 Yes, and it's insufferable.
they do that, because first snippet is for YT ads. many people jump to skip button, so those couple seconds intro are hook, to stay and see whole trailer
@neskec90 its also when you are scrolling thru a social feed, if the vid auto plays, the snippet is supposed to catch your eye and make you stop to watch the trailer.
Next: trailer ends... NOW
I love how the cast is all brown people, brown people of Pacific Islander descent we need more movies like this❤
What a time to be alive, epic series about unification of Hawaii with Jason Momoa ❤
facts! and one more day for ep 3!
a dramatic drama about King Kamehameha is so overdue!!! cannot wait for this!!!
My first time hearing Olelo Hawai language and it fits the series tremendously.
To be honest, I don't understand Hawaiian language, never ever been there too. But the brutal respect they have shown especially in culture, tradition, clothing....instant fan....more than one season please.
Finally another worth show to look forward to after See
Yess. I started to watch See again .
I listen to the first few episodes. Not what I was looking for.
This is based on a true story
See was really good 👍
@bishopwhite1822the first 3-4 episodes are terrible and I actually put the show down for awhile after them... Let me tell you something. Make it through those first 4 episodes. After that the show DOES NOT MISS A FREAKING BEAT! it turned out to be one of my favorite shows of ALL TIME!!!
Jason Momoa real legend
Look at the cinematography!
Looks impressive
y’know, my 7th grade teacher told us all about this and said her husband even was playing in it, i live in o’ahu and we were learning about hawaiian history, i’m proud to say that this is all accurate and amazing!
i mean, seriously! when you’re so engaged in hawaiian culture and entertained, you forget that you’re watching a show!
talofa! this the aloha we need on this forum.. this more the dark history of Hawaii but it too must be told
Finally Momoa doing what he should be doing - making another solid series on this channel instead of Minecraft and Fast and furious garbage.
So he should sit around and wait for a lower paying Apple TV series and not do blockbuster films? You kids are silly.
You mean the ones that made so much money clearly the majority of people out in the world like them? Democracy.
“See” is one of the greatest shows going
@garymurphy36 and chief of war now
@jadapandy their family movies relax
Hawaiians are just so chilled. I can’t imagine these fights
I love cultural works of art like this. Has the brutal vibes of Apocalypto yet the unmistakable soul of Polynesian people. Looks amazing.
I expect it will be better than Apocalypto since Mel Gibson doesn’t really care about Mayan culture, whereas Jason Momoa and the other creators of this show really care about honouring Hawaiian history and culture
@Cybele1986 Well, I hope so. He is Hawaiian after all
@Cybele1986it would be awesome if they made something similar to this show but about mesoamericans and the spanish conquest
Lore accurate Pacific stories in a legit movie!!? I have been living under a rock!! Ē kani kapū kāua!!!
If its lore acurate - canibalism should be included.
@tadasdovii8262chill, you truly do not know what you are talking about. Consuming humans is the least sustainable way of life, Hawaiians were highly civilized, eating a heart was a warriors task, only the greatest could and those consumed were also of the highest regard in battle. There is a lot to eat in the islands: birds, wild boar, horse and cattle (depending where in the pacific you were) and Hawaiians had it all. We were omnivorous and we were highly integrated cultivators and agriculturalists. We farmed, had complex water systems for agriculture and fisheries, even a trade and barter system between other island and eventually the whole world. Truly before you speak, consider reality and facts.
Temuera speaking Olelo Hawai’i 👌🏽
In our reo , matou kia koutou. tatou ano hoki Olelo Hawaii = Korero Maori ahua orite ( similar phonetic sounds) common in many olelo/ korero I te Moana nui a Kiwi
Pacific Islands
@jamorang23 ae pololei, I agree and myself being of Kanaka, and Māori ancestry, couldn’t agree more.
Nga mihi e hoa!.
@Keliimaoli me oe./ koe Tapiri ki tenei (adding to this) Ngamihi my nans inoa/ ingoa . Can I friend request you I was suppose to do BGs on this.( background acting I m an extra) but fell sick just before they started shooting most of it was filmed at Pewhairangi / Bay of Islands Aotearoa _ nz.
He’s from New Zealand right?
This is a wonderful show....I'm so glad to see Hawaiian history brought to life....here's hoping for many more seasons! Mahalo
Goosebumps. This is gonna be epic!
I had the same reaction
CHICKENSKIN! 🤙
Just say you are gay 😅😅😅😅
This looks incredibly epic and beautiful. Cant wait.
This is amazing. I love Hawaii and its culture. I feel the Mainland has a heck of a lot to learn when it comes to this. Polynesian culture is amazing and so interesting. Its nice to finally see Hawaii getting the true representation it needs! Hopefully this will teach many to respect the culture that it so very much deserves. I have a special place in my heart for those beautiful islands.
facts! unlike some clowns on here we here for the culture
FINALLY!! Hawaii is filled with stories that need to be shared with the world
Wow i loved him in See Series..i know this will also be my one of the fav!!
This looks so Grand..will surely watch this❤
WELL DONE! APPLE TV JUST FINISHING WATCHING 10 OUT OF FREAKIN 10!!!! THOSE COMPLAINING BOUT CREATING OTHER CULTURES DONT FREAKIN WATCH!!!!
Last night we had the cast of Chief of War in our restaurant pre screening today’s opening. Everyone had a great time and it was the perfect place to have a screening being we are at the summit of Kilauea volcano.. Aloha🌺 and thank you crew
Mahalo Jason Momoa for bringing this project to life. I can't wait to tune in.
This looks so epic! Every movie should looks like that nowdays!
Not every film is an epic though lol
Production value is great. I think we’ve gotten so used to the Volume, people forget this is how historical epics are supposed to look
I cannot wait to watch this. Full stop.
Just finished episode 2. Loving it so far. It reminds me of Apocalypto. Savage combat. Great show.
This is how it should be... give us more of this. Looking forward to watching!!! 🌺❤
yes! good to see native indians africans pinoys asians and latinos embracing the show! talofa lava! hopefully apple tv make more shows like this!
Tears in my eyes, and I'm Kenyan 😅
We islanders are distant cousins
Kijana wa kasongo 😂
Doesn’t matter where you from. Human history belongs to humanity, friend🫡
Just watched the first season, and I had to get on here and say how awesome it is. Let’s pray for lots more!
Thank you for the beautiful compliment I really appreciate my dear ❤🌹
Where are you from ?
This show will be amazing
Hawaii is such a mystical place!
It was filmed in New Zealand.
@noodlechild666 Yeah now it's being gentrified by rich people buying up all the burnt up land from the locals.
@noodlechild666lower taxes?
@dmike2010 more Pacific people, ones that can act.
@noodlechild666 It was also filmed in Hawaii.
That riding with a great white shark was super amazing.
Couldn't agree with you more! That looks awesome..
Good on Momoa for repping his Native Hawaiian roots always cool to see Matua Tem and Cliff on scene they have been doing this for years and the love and dedication they show for their Maori Polynessian roots has been very influential in the short film documentary and kiwi aus films to see this go global tumeke our Maoli Maori whanau we defs a global and S.O to the whole bloodline of Polynessia 🇹🇴 Tonga Samoa 🇼🇸 Hawaii Tahiti 🇵🇫Cook Islands 🇨🇰 Niue 🇳🇺 Fiji 🇫🇯 Tuvalu 🇹🇻 Tokelau 🇹🇰 West Papua 🇵🇬 Aotearoa 🇳🇿🌿 We love you all Mana up n Peace
facts! hopefully not just Polynesia but Melanesia and abbos have there stories told also
Yup and Rapa Nui (Easter island), Rotuma, Uvea - Wallis and Futuna, Tuvalu - and our Melanesian brothers and sisters - Fiji, West Papua and the whole of Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 peace and aloha/aroha/ofa/alofa’s to all of our Pacifika peeps. ❤❤ 🌴🏝️🛖🏄🏽♂️
watched 3 episodes of it and I gotta say this show is pretty amazing, at first I was kinda sceptical and Im not a fan of readings subs, but now I
will say 4rd episode was much slower.. but this is a historical series but the way the put it together felt to bunched in, like mamoa now out of nowhere speaking english.. they could of done that part much better.. like 3 years later or even mamoa... speaking about his vovage learning the language what he witness in the new world.. and then! in ep 4 come back to the islands..
I hope there will be at least 2 more seasons of this show
El mundo necesita más pelis basadas en eventos históricos
Only 2 episodes and I´m already hooked.
I was stationed in Kaneohe Bay for 4 years and loved every bit of Hawaii..was able to spend time on the other islands as well..absolutely fascinating and gorgeous history and culture..
for anyone wondering, the black man seen multiple times is known as Mr Keakaʻeleʻele
he was living in hawai'i prior to Kamehameha's attack on o'ahu but little is known about what he actually did
Thank you kindly! He seemed like a very powerful figure very similar to our Pajés and Caciques here in the Amazon. I was really interested in knowing if he was based on a real warrior.
@sinners_nsfw sadly, because he don't know uch about his life prior to the fall of o'ahu, it can be assumed that he didn't do too much. he probably fell into a similar situation as Young and Davis. hopefully he wasn't kidnapped like them though. i'll need to do more research
@OperationHawaiiana Don’t automatically assume because we know little about them that they did little. I applaud you for wanting to do more research though. Compulsory education in America has twisted US and World history in unimaginable knots. 🪢 When I see a name pop up and I’m told they did nothing or we are led to believe they were insignificant, that’s my cue to investigate them, further. Because our historical system has a history of lying.
@OperationHawaiianawonder if young and Davis will be in this show though
@OperationHawaiianayou obviously got knowledge on the subject so can you tell me if those female warriors are accurate because from my understanding Hawaiian society was strictly ruled by men and warfare.
2:36 Aquaman finding Namor.
Just watched first 2 episodes and I'm blown away it's literally the greatest series I've seen in years absolute epic
Finally a Momoa documentary about his life. Been waiting for this
Let’s goooooooo!!!! So excited to see our Polynesian brothers and sisters get their truths on tv (I’m black) we are all rising, our ancestors are speaking let’s gooooo
Polynesians are more closely related to white people than black people....just saying....
Truths? There is only truth. Singular.
Who came here not realizing this was a trailer till Apple announced the trailer was starting?!
This is long overdue. FINALLY!!!
Amazing 🤩
1:55 this scene is beautiful with the rain and the thunder
So THAT's why Boba Fett was immediately comfortable with gaffi-stick combat... his ancestor King Kahekili...Fett.
It’s his taiaha skills
I love Jason Momoa. He is such a versatile actor❤❤❤
Idk if I'd use the word versatile, he's mostly the same character in all his projects. He's good at that type of role though.
@audiolova9906 He's pretty different in Fast X. He is psychotic and sadistic. In Minecraft he is goofy and clumsy. Pretty different from Aquaman and roles like this.
Bro just walks around with raised eyebrows in all movies. Please don’t disrespect the great actors by using words like Versatile loosely. He is just a bodybuilder that happens to be famous. Not an actor imo
Lol. Hes good but let's not be silly - dude's not 'versatile'.
*Agree. He's being lined up to play the lead in Schindler's List 2.*
Man, the music director deserves a lot of appreciation for his spectacular work❤❤❤❤
You can feel the MANA poured with love and honor into this and I’m Mexican.
Much Nacho Libre Senor🎉😂
Awesome!!
