Great video. Was a piece of cake. I did use the advice of one of the commenters. I did not disconnect connectors. Just removed terminals. Also removed negative positive. And reconnect positive first then negative
Hi, good job changing the battery for this 2017 Chevy Traverse; very good image and instructions with quick handling of the tools and cancellation of the alarm and conclusion of the Assembly, good knowledge and technique, congratulations
i appreciate the video, it is very helpful to know where the battery is but I do have a question, when you installed the new battery shouldn't you have went postive then negative, not negative then positive? I was always taught when removing a battery to unhook Negative first, then Positive and reverse of that when installing a new battery, Positive On first, then Negative i was told it would lesson your risk of blowing fuses and the vehicle computer this way...
I’ve heard of this before but I was always told black before red or else you’re dead lol so I’ve followed that model my whole life haven’t had an issue yet lol.
Connect the non-grounded terminal first. This is almost always the positive terminal, but on some older vehicles it might be negative. This is to prevent a short circuit should any tools you are using to tighten the terminals touch any surrounding metalwork. If that metalwork is not connected to the battery, no short can occur. Extra care should be taken if there is more than one battery. The CHASSIS GROUND connection should be the last one to be connected.
Hey everyone, Thank you for all the love you guys have been giving my videos. I really appreciate it. Please let me know if my videos helped you by giving it a Thumbs up and subscribing. Sorry I just watched it, and it’s a half inch nut on the bottom near the block the uppers are probably 12/14mm and the ratchet used is a craftsman but they don’t make it anymore but if you have a normal ratchet and an extension you can get the bottom nut. Good luck Javier!
I would not put on the negative first I would put back the positive first then the negative. A spark on the positive side could destroy components. This is the only issue I see in the video.
Like you would know.... It's easier to get to, and sits inside, in the air conditioning, away from the motor heat and grime. And if you want to connect a power convertor, it's right there, no need to run a wire through the firewall into the engine compartment.
@Rob-dp3vr ha you're right. I didn't change out that battery. I didn't watch this video. I also didn't leave that comment. My 14 year old son did all those things for me. He doesn't know about all those extra things you mentioned. The case I made for the battery placement is that I've never had a battery last me as long as the one we just replaced.
@@LetsRepair yes they let me buy the battery but they say I would still have to find someone to program it we have gone to 3 places and all auto zones have told me the same
The alarm goes off because the system is being reconnected to power, you just put the key in the ignition or if you have a key fob you can press the alarm button on there. Hope this helps!

Thank you! This really helped me out. Also two thumbs up for telling us the screw sizes. 👍🏽
Glad I could help you. Thanks for watching

"The situation has been resolved" Bro I died. That was so funny. Great video man keep up the good work!

Nice work and great job !
You are very talent.
Nice video.
Perfect video!!! Many thanks
Glad it helped!
Dumbest car I've ever bought.
Stg
Thanks, such a clear explanation 👍🏻
Thats the most stupid place for a battery.
Great and funny video but, Ground is always the first to take out and last to be placed. 😉
Thanks! Video helped a lot!
Glad it helped!

Good day, Let's Repair. it's fairly informative video. thank. :)
Thanks for this video.
Does it matter if you put the positive or negative on first for the new battery?
HEY EVERYONE I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR WATCHING MY CONTENT AT THE TIME OF THIS POST I ONLY NEED 20 MORE SUBSCRIBERS TO HIT 1000!!!🎉🎉
Olá tudo bem? Muito bom o canal e será muito útil 👍🏾
My old battery didnt have a handle. Time to break my finger tips and back.
If I’m putting a subwoofer in, do I run the power cable from the battery positive thermal or from the positive terminal post in the engine bay
From the battery terminal, to the amp if I remember correctly, I haven’t done one in 15 years lol
I was told the reason for the battery in the back of the seat is because the battery will explode if you have frontend collision.
Perfect 👍🏾
Hey man, what tool did you get to unscrew the bolts?
It’s a ratchet and then I believe I used a 6inch extension I can’t remember I’d have to watch the video again lol.

@@LetsRepair thanks
You didn’t have disconnect any of the connection just the negative and positive terminal all the other stuff you did was all unnecessary work
@@Whynot-mp3fw I’m confused as to what you’re referring to?
Thank you
My dad has an obsession with Traverse and Acadia. Dumbest cars I’ve worked on 😂 changing the oil is a nightmare and so is the battery placement
Forgot to mention to plug the vent on the positive side ..other than thay great video
How did you go from a normal sounding guy to a chipmunk in record time!?
I would not put on the negative first I would put back the positive first then the negative. A spark on the positive side could destroy components. This is the only issue I see in the video.
And how you removed the seat
You don’t need to remove the seat just move it all the way forward and then you open the access to the battery.
The WORST place for a battery
Like you would know....
It's easier to get to, and sits inside, in the air conditioning, away from the motor heat and grime. And if you want to connect a power convertor, it's right there, no need to run a wire through the firewall into the engine compartment.

No wonder Chevy has become a steaming pile of 💩! Put the battery under the hood where it belongs!
Exactly🎯
I agree with w 100%
Why are the terminals so hard to change
What batter brand so I need?
Personally I like autozone batteries so I would say theirs.
My don't stop the alarm i don't have the control what can i do
Try putting the key in the ignition
@@LetsRepair neither. I had to discount the horn fuse but the alarm always continues but no longer with the horn
You cut the clip when removing the negative post, mines not coming off so easy 🤷🏾♂️
Just undo the 1 nut on it, then take a flat head put it under the connector and slowly work it up. let me know how it goes.
I went to get a new battery and they said we had to get it programmed or we wouldn’t be able to turn in the car .
Sounds like they are trying to rip you off, I would just tell them I want the battery and that's it.
@@LetsRepair yes they let me buy the battery but they say I would still have to find someone to program it we have gone to 3 places and all auto zones have told me the same
Interesting I'm wondering what needs to be programmed, maybe the radio? I did my traverse and it's been fine since.
thank you!
No problem! Glad I could help and thank you so much for subbing really appreciate it!
Newer cause suck ass leave them under the dam hood
Why did the alarm go off and you didnt show what you did to make it stop
The alarm goes off because the system is being reconnected to power, you just put the key in the ignition or if you have a key fob you can press the alarm button on there. Hope this helps!
