Man, that rubiks cube bumper method still gets me. Its honestly the one aspect of spray painting I couldn't take away from gunny. I get lost watching it every time. I break it into 4 sections. Top, center, bottom, and edges, and spray em in that order, taking the time to get all the recessed areas during whichever section they're in. Granted I'm playing ring around the rosey like an idiot, and have wrapped my hose around the stand more times than I like to admit.
I can see then you're working your prolite you mostly peacefully than other gun .My first thing that morning in lovely Moscow region began with your nice work. Thanks a lot!
I am a new Land Cruiser FZJ80 owner. Sooo exciting. I recently decided to address the peeling clear coat on the hood, roof, top of the rear lift gate and fender flares. My first time painting, first time using a sprays gun (only exposure to setting up gun was RUclips), first time taping, etc. The thing is, I decided to rent a spray booth for 3 hours. After taping, getting organized, I only had time to shoot BASE COAT before my time expired and the next guy entered the booth. QUESTION: How long can I wait to shoot my CLEAR coat? I can not get back in the booth for 3 days! heard...just clean, hit with a tack cloth and shoot....to needing to scuff the base coat with 2000 grit...then respray a coat of base before shooting clear. Of course, the latter means I wasted a day of prepping and shooting base if I have to re-shoot any base at all. What are your thoughts on my 3 day wait before shooting clear? Ok to shoot clear after 3 days or must I wet sand the base first? Thanks
Love watching your work , that base looked like it was laid down really well and then topped off with that awesome clear coat . I can really see why you love that pro lite . I finally have a good start on building my setup I have bought an 8 hp compressor with 16.9 CFM woohoo
Looking killer gunny i must say i owend sata's iwata's but the devilbiss is the best bang for buck mine are 8 to 10 years old they are showing a little bit of wear but you can easly work around that
Hey Gunny. Just wondering if you can make a video on how the booth works? Like the controls for it, the different settings etc. Great video as always mate. Definitely my favourite RUclipsr.
I love my pro lites too that's why i have 3 of them and you know why gunny. They are the best . Nice job mate. Do you still use your bellaria? I'd like to try the standard clear that gloss is great
Hey guys after a bit of advice. I’m trying to pick up a spray painting apprenticeship but this far have had no luck. I’ve called just about every shop in my area asking if they’d be willing to take on a fresh apprentice and they’ve all turned me down. Does anyone have any tips for making myself a more desirable candidate? I’m not some lazy sod that’s going to half ass it and really want to get into the industry but it feels like nobody wants to put on an apprentice
Preyu where abouts are you searching? Try the TAFE/Trade school in your town/area. Even walk into a shop and ask. Sometimes face to face is better over the phone
Do you get any solvent pop when you spray clear? You seem to bomb that rear bumper without letting it flash off? I know the clear and booth are heated but still, wondering if you get any problems?
The Gunman RAW do you notice a wispy looking peel that comes from fast hardener? I did when we had glasurit, haven’t used fast hardener with the lesonal system yet.
That's a nice one bro

Rarely, the fast hardener and long flash before bake helps a lot.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I cutout my door handle openings with semi clear tape. What is your method of sealing them off?
