I purchased the Wood Grain version 405V at day of launch from the AliEx ANBERNIC store page. I also got the hard carrying case and 128GB micro sd games card add-on. It should be delivered to me today or tomorrow, so I haven't gotten mine yet. I purchased a Team Group Pro Plus 1TB micro sd card for mine weeks before ordering my 405V. I plan to use my 405V as a portable TV media player as well as a handheld game console.
I was lucky enough to get the Purple, but I wanted the grey😅. I agree with your views on this. The V is a great upgrade. Shame about your fan, I was lucky enough not to suffer that issue. Maybe open it and tighten or replace? Thanks for a awesome one bud👍🏾
Thanks for the video. I have the Retroid Pocket 3+, Miyoo Mini and Plus Version, TRIMUI Model S and some modded Sony and Nintendo handhelds. All I can say is, this device here is the perfect device for people with wrist injurys like carpal tunnel. Miyoo Mini Plus gives you cramps after playing for an hour and also does RP3+. Yes, there are grips for those, but who wants to buy a slim device to carry a grip around that makes the slim device bulky? The 405v is perfect for what it is. And also I really want to thank you, that you had the balls to finally say "dont believe people saying ps2 runs fine" I was hated on reddit for saying exactly this when fiddling around with ps2 emulation in the rp3+. Some people just dont want to here that the performance is bad. Do NOT expect God of War to play okay and look good. You can get it to play "okayish" while looking horrible. Do NOT expect to play Need for Speed most wanted any where near enjoyable. Imho, just skip gc, wii and ps2 library or else you will be disappointed, because your favorite handful of games wont be enjoyable. This device is perfect for: GB, gbc, gba, all Sega consoles, psx, Dreamcast and n64. Sure, there are way more consoles running perfect, but i think these are the most requested. As a bonus: Games like Titan Souls, Forager and other indie Games also released on android are VERY enjoyable with this thing. Good Video my friend!

The 505 I already have and the 405V I'm getting has no HDMI port but that doesn't bother me at all. They are both intended to be portable handhelds and they have a large enough display not to have to squinch your eyes. For those who much prefer HDMI outputs on their handhelds. I suggest you get a PowKiddy device. The PowKiddies are more likely to have HDMI output.
The only problem with the Ergonomics is the Start and Select buttons should have been placed in the Middle near the Function button. This is the first Vertical Handheld I'm completely enthusiastic on purchasing. 😊
I prefer horizontal handhelds, but glad somebody is taking ergo into consideration on a vertical. I think the overly sensitive back buttons are a deal breaker for me.
Yep, absolutely love when handhelds are designed for ergonomics first as comfort is a big thing for these devices. The back buttons are a shame, I wonder if we'll see an easy fix from modders.

I am happy with my RG505 since I can play psp games in its proper 16:9 format. If the RG405V had a more powerful chip to tackle Wii, and ps2 games then I would have jumped on it.

These handhelds keep getting updated & released so rapidly. I feel like I'm one upgrade away from grabbing a Vertical handheld. In truth, if Retroid were to release their new 4 series in a Vertical format, I reckon I would grab it. I have enough Horizontal models. a 353m, an Odin, a Flip, a Steam Deck. I want a muscled up Vertical. I feel like this is really close to what I want, but I'd be over the moon with greater GC support.

I think the Rg353V is still better as far as size and looks go. This is more powerful, sure, but it's large and clunky. I'd rather have the 353 until there's an option better than the 405.
Did the buttons wiggle when you push them side to side? I feel like the buttons might be a little too small for the cutout holes. Is that your experience?

I got gammaos, and I found that the games I ran on PS2 were often better than my gamecube performance. I could run shadow of collosus underclocked, but if I wanted to play F-Zero GX, it was barely playable.

I have this device but how do you get the roms on this? Which folders do you put them in? When i take out the card that came with the device it wont let me copy over Roms i get, GRRR..so frustrated. I see all these games reviewed but they are not on my RG405v out of box. Does anyone have a tutorial on this device of how to install other ROMS?
I never, ever use the ROMS that come with the device, nor do I buy that SD card, but there's folders on that card and you can just transfer your ROMS to those folders that match the console. Otherwise, ROMS can be anywhere in Android, you just point your frontend or emulators to them.
Just bought the RG405v. I’ve also bough a mini pc that I’d love to turn into a Batocera gaming station as per a retro corps video… If I set up Google drive auto save will I be able to pick up where I’ve left off on the pc and vice Versa? Thanks!
Only thing I don't like is the rounded sides on the front. It looks like something I'd make with play dough back in my school days. Doesn't help that the size makes it less pocketable than my Switch Lite was when I had one.

You don't need the sd card, in fact, it's always advised never to buy it. The roms are bad quality and the sd card is low quality. You can install games to the internal storage or buy your own SD card and install games there.

I am just looking for a gameboy looking device that can play fluidly up till PS2 and Gamecube, that's it. It looks like this one is still struggling but it's getting there. I hate how it got chunkier. My ultimate design would be the RG353V with a better output and 3.5mm on the bottom and the speakers on the bottom and the led on top with the power of being able to play ps2 gamecube. Ill but that immediately.
I really don't understand who this is for? I mean it doesn't really look all that much like a game boy, maybe like a really bad clone? Also it's HUGE, too big for a vertical design in my opinion. I want to play ps2 on a vertical handheld as much as the next guy, but is the cost to aesthetic really worth it? I'm sure it's easier to hold, but oh lord that thing is UGLY. I'll stick to my RG35xx for my nostalgia fix and 405m for everything for now.
actually I take it back now that I see it side by side with the 405m, it doesn't seem THAT big. (the 405m is a lot smaller in person. Would you say it's as big as the O.G. Gameboy?

YEEESSS!!!!!!! Use a sling bag to carry these things. Pocketing devices is juvenile or archaic IMO. Bellroy makes quality stuff, too.

I'm not a Saturn guy, but most should be playable through Yaba Sanshiro 2 on the Play Store.

Kind of sort of? I would do that until you run into issues and if you do, jump back to any videos I've done for fixing settings etc.

All Bluetooth earbuds will have audio delay, if that's what you mean. It's an Android thing.

My ultimate design would be the RG353V with a better output and 3.5mm on the bottom and the speakers on the bottom and the led on top with the power of being able to play ps2 gamecube. Ill but that immediately.

You can buy the extra sd card with games, but it's never recommended.

I really don't understand who this is for? I mean it doesn't really look all that much like a game boy, maybe like a really bad clone? Also it's HUGE, too big for a vertical design in my opinion. I want to play ps2 on a vertical handheld as much as the next guy, but is the cost to aesthetic really worth it? I'm sure it's easier to hold, but oh lord that thing is UGLY. I'll stick to my RG35xx for my nostalgia fix and 405m for everything for now.
actually I take it back now that I see it side by side with the 405m, it doesn't seem THAT big. (the 405m is a lot smaller in person. Would you say it's as big as the O.G. Gameboy?
Been trying to get an OG Gameboy so I could compare, lol but it didn't work out. I'm not sure, honestly, maybe another reviewer compared that? I haven't held one in over 20 years at this point.

I’ve collected a lot of these retro devices and they are cool because the invoke a nice feeling of nostalgia. This one looks too bulky and not appealing to me. I hope anbernic move on from this design swiftly.
I don't like how sticks look on vertical handhelds. They don't belong here. Just don't. But I think I will order 405v on sale (since I dont NEED it, I just want it, because I like it. Should be even better, than 351v)

Yes, when it comes to functionality and ergonomics, it's good. Looks however, ugh ... one of the ugliest vertical handhelds I've ever seen. 🤮 I just couldn't buy it for the looks man.
