I have to "WEIGH" in on this conversation. This has always been one of my favorite songs. The music, lyrics & the way Morten sold the song with his magical powerful voice. There is no denying that he has lost "some" of that power in his voice, but he still has an amazing voice. A voice that most singers today would kill for. He is no different than most 80's lead singers (from Bon Jovi to Duran Duran) 24 yrs of pop & rock will take its toll on a voice, especially a one of a kind voice like his.
One more thing... I have to agree with 722lk comment. This isn't a song they sing very often (it should be, but it's not) and that will make a difference. Morten's new solo album "Letter From Egypt" is fantastic and if the few songs I have heard live from the new A-ha album coming put this spring, they are going to have a great new album. Morten's voice sounds wonderful!!! Thanks for posting this video... it is fantasic!
I was always disappointed in the marketing of Aha in the UK, especailly as they lived in the UK! Mainland Europe and South America was a much more successful market for them and it was a shame the UK didn't appreciate them as much.

sweet holy jesus. that riff that mags plays is insane! i love these guys so much, one of the most under-rated bands EVER. beautiful songwriting, wonderful vocals, and fantastic arrangements. "scoundrel days" was one of the best albums to ever come out of the 80s. poor marketing though :(
@iPhalkon nah, scoundrell days was one of the most sold aha albums aroud the world, only in the us aha is underrated, they toured successfully all aroud the world around 25 years, im from paraguay south america, and im a fan since i was 15 years old around 1985 had all their reccords also if you dont know they had a guiness reccord for playing in front of an audience of 200000people in brazil in 1991
I think the problem was the 'pop' marketing of aha which is bigger in Europe. When you see aha concert its more soft rock and much better than ppl expect. Pop fans are normally young girls and fickle and soon move on to the next 'boy band' or 'girl band'.. but serious music fans stick to good music so if they had marketed aha more by their brilliant soft rock music maybe they would have done better in UK.

Gostei muito da banda até o terceiro álbum ( Stay on These Roads)... depois disso, acompanhei os álbuns lançados mas nunca foi a mesma coisa. Fanáticos dizem que que o vocal melhorou cantando para dentro (dizem que isso é técnica!) mas eu preferia a época do vocal cantando para fora e invadindo todo o espaço! Infelizmente, ao vivo, o A-ha parece uma banda cover (nas músicas até o terceiro álbum) deles mesmos...
What i dont like actually is Morten attitude towards singing... too perfectionist. Mostly he doesnt play naturally, like if he is correcting himself permanently

A partir de East of the Sun, o vocal passou a cantar para dentro... tudo bem que anos se passaram desde a apresentação na praça da apoteose, mas naquela época o vocal cantava para fora...
