I think the run d will be better regardless of the d line talent. Not dropping linebackers in coverage as much like Wilkes was doing allows guys not to have huge gaps after the first block.

I believe maliek collins and jordan elliott will be splitting snaps. The key to the defense will be Gross-Matos. I want to see the kalia davis, kevin givens, and evan anderson battle.
I would use gross Matos -Collin’s - Elliot - Bosa on running downs then bring in the two pass rushers on Hardgraves etc .Please no Givens too small Anderson would be better!
They are working turns, not get off. Jamming mostly happens at get off (in NFL 5y rule even dictates that) so that is different drill. Ofc you could say that he should/could put weight more down in some turns. In that one turn he puts the weight down alot (there he could keep feet underneath a bit more, but this is just to nitpick while we are at it :D). But that is dependant on the drill/route also. So saying he looks too tall in this particular drill is not accurate if you aren't sure what they are actually drilling. That is NOT to say that jamming could be a problem for Persall. That we will see in training camp/pre-season/when it actually matters, we cannot estimate that based on one work out video.
Bro, anytime you can't give any real context the subject is "nuanced". Malik is a far better pass rusher than armstead ever was. And armstead is a far better run defender than Collins will ever be. I'll bet at some point leading up to last season you called Hargrave a great run defender. There's people who know the game and there's people's who just talk. Keep talkin

I'm not a fan of all these other "reporters" and their hot takes either, but I really do have my doubts that Aiyuk will be a 49er for much longer.

Me too. The coaching we have is damn good. So I'm hoping this kid will take advantage in put in the work and end up on the 53 roster

Pearsall looks to tall when running those routes… that gives a larger surface area for DBs to jam… must wait and see tho.
