- Young and attractive Kunti falls in love with Anil. One day they get intimate which ends in Kunti getting pregnant. Kunti finds out that Anil comes from a poor family, and rejects to marry him. Unable to bear this truth Anil commits suicide. Kunti is unable to abort the child, as it is illegal at that time, so she runs away from her house, with a close friend, Chanda, and gives birth to a baby girl, who she leaves in Chanda's care. Kunti gets married to a rich man but fails to have a family. This story takes a sharp turn when Kunti discovers that her husband has an extra marital affair which he admits. How will Kunti sort her messy life?

Ye film अपने समय के आगे की कहानी है। यकीन नहीं होता की 50 साल पहले एक नई थीम पर आधारित ऐसी सुपर हिट फिल्म बनी होगी। आज की कहानी जैसी लगती है। इस फिल्म की कहानी में नारी की हक, सम्मान और उनके समस्या पर बनी बहुत ही बेहतरीन फिल्म है। इसमें नूतन और रेखा ने बेहतरीन अभिनय किया है।
खासकर नूतन एक नए अंदाज में अभिनय किया है। मैने बहुत सी फिल्म देखी है पर इस फिल्म में नूतन जी ने जो भूमिका निभाई है , वो मैंने कभी किसी फिल्म में नही देखा है। मुझे नूतन जी का अभिनय बहुत अच्छा लगा। और वो इस फिल्म में बहुत खूबसूरत लग रही थी । उनका यह अभिनय भूलने वाली नही है। और रेखा जी की खूबसूरत कि बात ही क्या करना, वो तो great artist हैं। वो तो आज भी every green hai।
ये फिल्म भी मुझे बहुत अच्छा लगा। बहुत एंजॉय की। दिलखुश हो गया। मैं एक एक सीन पर ताली बजा रहा था।

This movie is mostly remembered for Nutan's never seen before glamorous avatar. In her mid forties, she was absolutely lavished with some extremely stylish costumes which were polar opposite to the look she had of a quaint Indian girl all throughout her career.
Nutan was extremely modern in her real life. Very opinionated and strong! Fiesty too, just like her siblings! Educated abroad and always very modern, she played the polar opposite traditional girl in the movies 🙂. She wore western clothing other times but not during public appearances unlike in the 70s and 80s. Also, she was plumper at this time. By her 40s, she had become quite slim for women her age.

I am mesmerised by Nutan. Her acting , her looks , her height. Just mind blowing . Rekha is always gorgeous and a brilliant actor, but Nutan is out of the world. Kajol has some of her flovour. No one can replace Nutan though.
