How did you obtain the W/O and O/W densities? I can’t wrap my mind around it since you have the same ratio of components but the value changed so drastically.

    Superb explanation

Very helpful and easily explained, thank you! One issue tho, because you made your total emulsion weight equal 100g, it is hard to tell which value is for Q, because the grams also equals the percentage in the example. It would have been nice if you did it with any number but 100, bc I can't determine the difference. When I do the calculation, I am not getting a difference in surfactant needed, whether my total emulsion volume is 1L or 100L. There doesn't seem to be any place to include the actual volume of anything used, all just ratios. Any help clarifying this would be much appreciated, thank you!

Do you have any reference to the used formula for the minimal surfactant amount?

Hello Marcy! Your channel is great! Could you share a paper about this cslculations? Regards

The 6 and the 4 numbers are from the calculus formula or it's the 60 of the water phase and the 40 of the oil phase?

Why did you change the HLB value of the oil in W/O

No way... I needed to calculate 4.7 and 14.9 too. That's just crazy

If I understand correctly, to calculate which surfactants and proprotions I want for a product, I must know the desired HLB and then select surfactants that togoether achieve it? Would HLB of 9 be for something like face wash?

It is very nice tutorial. Please explain how come the HLB of paraffin and beeswax changes from 10 to 4 and 9 to 5 in two two Qs calculation, respectively.

surely different kinds of paraffins and beeswaxes were used

Why can’t we use the same oils?
