Hi Steve, Always love watching your lessons. I passed my F9 because of last week revision from your videos. And it got very easy because of the templete workings shown by you. Now I am watching for my FR exam next week ❤ love for you from India.
It's incredibly useful, Sir. Also, I tried surfing for an appropriate method to tackle Consolidated SOPL and Published Single Entity Section C questions. Could you please refer a video that may come handy? Thanks a lot in advance, Sir.
Hello Sir. Request you to please help with a question for consolidation of statement of profit or loss and other comprehensive income. (Your proforma methods are really helpful). if you could make a video, i would be grateful.
This one is an exam-standard question--they similar to this, but each exam question will have some variations. The basic structure, and step by step approach, however, will remain the same.
Hi Steve a very informative video, thanks! Could I ask if our assets don't not balance with the E+L should will leave them slightly off? or change one figure (ie total assets) so they balance together?
Hi there! The assets should equal the E & L. If they don't, either you've missed something, or, as you say, the current liabilities are netted off the assets, so then "Total assets - current liabilities" = "Capital employed" If you are in section C, do your best to figure it out but keep moving. They will mark you step by step, so if you are a little off in one part, but finished the question, you should get a comfortable pass.
are you allowed to show a 4 column method in the exam? because in all the kaplan answers for CSOFP it just had the group SOFP, which makes it harder for me as i can make more errors. Can i use your same approach for SPL
Hi there, in what sense? Use the spreadsheet as a practical tool to do your work. Yes, link the cell to another cell if you need to use that number again. But you won't lose any marks if you just re-type it.
Hey Steve, Ran through this question using a slightly different number format '000s but i get a 54 difference, i get 1500 from the unwinding discount rsther than 1550, can you give more detail? I believe i must have missed something
Everytime i type Consolidated SOFP it straight away cuts everything that doesn't fit in the cell and SOFP is not visible until click on the cell. So how can i merge cells in the platform?
Unfortunately the platform doesn't have that feature like excel. You can double click on the column separator and it will auto enlarge to the width of your text. Good luck 🤞
Hi Manvi, my goal in this video is to demonstrate the CBE spreadsheet exam technique that many students have trouble with. If you'd like a full explanation of group accounting, I suggest you check Open Tuition--they will have a full lesson on it.
your videos helped me pass PM exam, thank you for your help
Excellent to hear--well done :)

That's a good idea will do one.
Do I have to copy answer from spreadsheet to word processor (on answer sheet).
No--they will give you a spreadsheet or word processor response option, and you use what they give you.
@@SteveWillisACCA thanks so much for your kind reply.
you are welcome :)
Sir, Thank you so much for this video. Could you also make videos on the subject audit and assurance?

Thanks, glad the videos are helpful. Yes, I'll add that to the list.
Does consolidations question testing in real exam is only upto the one you showing?
Or is it more compicated

Yes you can show multiple columns
Sir, do we have to link our cells?

I'm not sure without seeing what you did--did you check against the solution as well?
I was using the past exam and the practice platform from the link you provided then it was suddenly removed.
I see that too. Strange--maybe ACCA is updating their site and their links.

After you master this one, try another Consolidation question using the same approach.
