I remember this episode from the mid 90's, back then I thought he was beating the crap out of the car and thought it was so cool, but now, he wasn't being that hard on it.
High school i 73 som guy has the SC Hurst 390 4sp car w the R-W-B paint scheme on it. We didn’t think much of it till we realized that HP 390 you;d beat about anything everyone else had n the school, easily too. I own a low mile 1978 J10, sat inside all its life in S-Calif in dry area, then this 5 years in Idaho Inside a garage, Never used here, Not Once. From the time I picked it out of the garage till 375 miles along he way to home I don’t know how many conversation w ppl yakking it up, about its primo straight showroom condition. Go get gasoline along the way, , and expect 2-4 ppl wanting to Jaw about it. The Jeep & Gladiator-Wagoneers, climb Bailey are second to NONE! Very happy with it over all.

The Big Three did everything they could to put other manufacturers out of business. Tucker, Nash, Rambler/AMC, Hudson, Cord, etc.... But Chrysler liked AMC enough that they bought them. Chrysler/Jeep and engines with the same CI sizes.
That dude's just straight up power-shifting that AMX.
The AMX and rare Hurst SC/Rambler (or Scrambler as it's nicknamed) are my FAV AMC cars; PERIOD!
think I like this old format of the show better than the newer format.
Denis is so young in this video. I guess I've been a certified car nut for 25 years

I agree... The show originally focused on auto information and educating is viewers. Today it focuses on selling stuff for its advertisers.
@Porsche924Tim Good point.
Holy crap he was flat footin' that sucker! What a show off hahaha
Did these AMX's ever come with the 401 like the javelin?
Great Car.
My second Car that I owned was a amc and she was fast
Interesting shifting style, was he shifting with RPMs?
Power shifting, no lift off the gas, just stab the clutch and bang gears
