Why does she keep saying that he'd spend 5 billion pounds on a tax cut funded by borrowing, when he's made it clear that he'd be pulling in additional windfall taxes - Which would absolutely dwarf the spending pledge. It wouldn't be borrowing, because it would be offset by windfall taxes. You either get the money from borrowing, or you get the money from tax. Labour are opting to take it from tax.
She also doesn't seem to understand that if you managed to fund these pledges with tax, you wouldn't need to give a bailout to mortgage holders - Because there wouldn't be the need for a sharp interest rate rise. The interest rate rise is caused by the BoE needing to cut inflation, the inflation in the market is almost entirely driven by energy costs - Which the Labour government would be capping. Additionally, no extra borrowing for handouts would result in no additional devaluation of the pound or of UK bonds - because there wouldn't be an increase in supply. Very silly line of questioning.

It’s time.. time to watch Cathy Newman Vs Jordan Peterson, again. That wasn’t boring - hugely entertaining viewing.
