Such an important point on why you should rid your garden of competitive weeds.....they can host pests that transmit diseases. Comprehensive video Joe. Thanks a mil!
Glad to help! Regarding the other channel(GGWTV), we use that just for the TV show episodes, and we're about to upload all the past 12 seasons in total, so it will be a great resource to watch all our TV episodes in their entirety. But here, you will find DIY and how-to episodes. And we are actively working on adding much more content here. Thanks!
I usually dust with DE ( Diatomaceous Earth) around the base of the plants and on the leaves that are affected. Organic and safe other than for soft-bodied creatures like snails and slugs.
Use bug netting or tulle on brassicas right away. It’s impossible to hand pick all of them. Sometimes if you don’t tightly secure bug netting they will be flying under that also😂.
Great advice. We mulch our garden beds but I can say that historically I don’t see this done by the average home gardener. That’s a shame because it is a game changer when it comes to retaining moisture and improving soil, especially in containers and raised beds.

I’ve been listening to your podcast now for months and this is the first video I’ve ever seen of you
Hmmm. I mention the RUclips channel on the podcast every week but it's after the main part. Glad you found it!
Thank you for the superb video, Joe. Really helpful and informative!
Thanks Ryan. I’m glad you liked it!
Having started a vege garden for the first time ever last month this was really helpful. Thank you

Nice of you to say! Thank you very much.
great video, as a novice my main issue is controlling the white fly, right now I am using a garlic and neem mix so far so good
Excellent!
I've learned so much from your show. How do you deal with slugs in your garden?
I usually dust with DE ( Diatomaceous Earth) around the base of the plants and on the leaves that are affected. Organic and safe other than for soft-bodied creatures like snails and slugs.
how to you store/accumulate your shredded leaves amd where do u store them

This is very true. 👍
Joe are you using untreated pine sleepers? I'm wanting to org my raised beds build.
The beds are made of untreated cedar timbers. 6x6’s. They’ve held up well for 12 years but now starting to show their age though.
Great advice. We mulch our garden beds but I can say that historically I don’t see this done by the average home gardener. That’s a shame because it is a game changer when it comes to retaining moisture and improving soil, especially in containers and raised beds.
So true I mulch with leaves that fall on my property and when I check out the soil underneath it's all worm castings. It's such an under rated step
I put leaves in my chicken pens and let them scratch and break them down along with pine shavings. Then I compost it with the chicken litter.
When do you put the white polyester fabric over the plants?? When you put the seeds in? THANKS!
Another awesome video! Joe do you have an issue with termites eating your raised bed?

Thank you. And I will definitely check out your channel. 👍
👍👍
Cabbage worms are so annoying but my whole broccoli patch got eaten by groundhogs!😩
I'd say, watch a video and start from seeds immediately. The price of starter plants is going through the roof.
arent all gardens organic?
