Dear Barbara, that is a bookcase of pure joy. How you must love sitting at your workspace with that as one of your views. Very relaxing and "smugly" satisfying. Have a beautiful day, Barbara 🇦🇺
Well, you did a fantastic job salvaging this., and thank goodness we have our art and hobbies that we can fall back on to release our frustrations, right? It has gotten almost impossible to deal with a human when it comes to any issues these days. And of course these companies are hoping we’ll just give up and either pay the bill or resort to emails, which usually do not get answered. And the messages they keep repeating make me even madder. If I’m that “valued”:why have I been on hold for an hour or more. Hopefully Barbara, you got this resolved. I do love these videos on your making or finishing the journals.
I can sympathize with you. Being on hold is the worst. I hate when I have to sit and listen to the music they play along with their little speech about how much you mean to them! It’s so aggravating. Whew! Okay. You know me. Of course I want to see your Journals again. I love seeing all the spines on your new shelves. I can see why they make you happy. With the Journal you just repaired, it turned out just beautiful. I’m glad you show us everything. Cutting the spine off but then you have to do the front cover with a ruler and your exacto knife (can’t think of the right name for it), trying to get the right paint color, sewing your pages together to get the right size, sewing them in without visible holes…. Okay I’m just doing a play by play. Lol. We all just watched this. But what I’m saying is I’m glad you not only show us the beauty of the finished Journal but we see that the struggle is real. Even for a pro. That means we need to keep going. Even when it’s hard. I love this cover now too. 💗💞💗
Barbara I would love to see the journals however you choose to show us. I learn so much from other people's work and get inspired and so it's really a fun thing to do..
Barbara: I could feel your frustration with your power company. That sort of situation is the usual thing that happens in our world today. It is so sad. However, you saved your journal and it looks better then ever. Kudos,- you won! Carol from California
Barbara you are just amazing. I love the transformation. I so appreciate that you share your struggles with us. Sometimes I think you get yourself into such a tangle you'll never get out but Miracle of Miracles there you go and you have made something awesome. I don't know if you said it or I missed hearing what you're going to use this journal for. The papers are just beautiful
Yes Barbara, I've gone through what you experienced trying to get through your energy provider...the dreaded wait. When I go to the doctor, they have me fill out a questionnaire, one of the questions is, " Do you get irritated easily?" I check ✔️ that one and I explain why😅 Anyway, we are troopers for we can handle those annoying inconveniences 😊👍 Your journal came out Fabulous 😍 Love it ❤
Barbara, I so so so understand that whole phone call frustration! Crafting always makes us feel better. I love that idea sewing the cover to the spine. Your colors are so pretty. Love the journal and now she feels a part of all your journals. Lovely! TFS! ❤
Such a gorgeous transformation!! 🩵🦋💛 🦉🤭 On hold/lack of customer service...I certainly can identify with your frustration! 😤 Sending you lots of gentle HUGS to get you thru!! 🤗🤗❤🤗🤗
This project is delicious, love it. And I would fill that hole at the bottom on the cover, even if stitching is already finished - just by adding a bit more. And I would also run same thread with back stitch through the fabric of the closure. Rusty-objects-stained papers look fabulous! Wow, look at it, even a person who never writes anything would want to document or doodle in this journal. I will totally repeat this one, just absolutely for sure.
Good morning Barbara ❤. You can always add another stitch at the bottom of the front and back covers. Love ❤️ the stitches 🧵. I’m going to try this once I can get back to crafting. Hugs 🤗 Dee
Absolutely Gorgeous, everything about this journal is perfect. It was really cool watching you create this. As always tfs 💜😊 Btw: I completely understand your frustrations. Idk why real humans never answer. You have to go through all these different prompts, it's almost like a guessing game. Then you're on hold forever. It annoys me when the recording says "thank you for holding, we'll be right with you". Except they're never right with you, by the time a real person comes on the phone, I'm already in a bad mood. I consider my time to be valuable and nobody has time to be on hold for an extended amount of time, unless we're getting paid to remain on hold.
This is a beautiful journal. I love the colors and the use of the die cuts. You should try to dye the closure with yellow to match the yellow of the thread. I love your work!
It is the most frustrating thing to deal with automated systems, and then to have them keep repeating how important your call is just sends you to the moon! Customer service is very low on their priority list, that’s for sure. Hopefully you feel better having accomplished altering your journal, making it easier to work in, and adding signatures! Having your shelving unit to display your journals will definitely make you want to finish them all to your satisfaction, easy access is key! Thanks for another inspiring video!💕🇨🇦
Have you seen the Chinese lady beating up a poor robot receptionist in the hospital? I felt so bad for it, as it patiently stood there getting smashed up. As we in the ambulance emergency operations centre get verbally assaulted quite regularly, no matter how nice we are. But then I remembered all the frustrating times I’ve been telling an automated system that I just want to speak to a real person, or have gone through their menus to be put on hold for hours, or to jump through all the menu hoops just to get hung up on 45 mins or more down the track. So then I felt more empathy for the poor lady who now probably has a massive bill for a robot repair (which she will probably work off in a re-education camp). So yes, I totally understand your frustration, even if I can’t imagine you actually being livid with anyone 😊 I hope they sort the problem out with a nice benefit in your favour for the inconvenience.
Hi Barbara! Its wonderful to see all of your work gathered and displayed in one place. Thanks for posting a makeover video - we're always growing and learning new techniques, and I think it's wonderful to be able to revist and reform previous pieces. I would be interested in a video where you perhaps showed your journals in chronological order, or shared what that particular journal says about the moment in time it was created - such as techniques or materials you loved working with, things the process of making taught you with that piece, what was inspiring you at the time - that kind of thing
Janet Nash has a Flip Through Friday each week to revisit journals from the past and it's wonderful! Such a nice set up you have!! Thank you for sharing! ❤
Glad us subies could be of assistance in helping you calm down your frustration. Jumping into your crafting is a good calmer-downer. The redo on your journal turned out really nice. I like the way you did the stitching. Thank you Barbara from Silverton, OR. USA..
it turned out so beautiful barb! incredible how such small details can make a huge difference. the yellow thread running down the front and back covers gave it so much life, and the yellow center along with the yellow thread of the pages gave it a really special look. now i want one just like that! hehe great job
Beautiful color on your cover and inside spine. It's fun to watch you think as you go. It turned out wonderful. I am wondering how many of your journals you use and how many are just there to be pretty. It's so cool that you can have them all out at once. I hope you get your bill taken care of. A friend of mine has spent 4 days trying to get her cell phone working. She has gone in physically to the phone service place and spoken on the phone to them. You talk to 30 people and get 30 different answers but no solutions. So frustrating. Good luck.
This is such a satisfying video. I have been working on things in my craft room that are unfinished or half done so this video is right up my alley at the moment. She is a beautiful journal. I can’t wait to see what you will do with her. 😊
Oh Barbara, my heart goes out to you, completely recognising your experience with being on hold, and simply need/want to talk to a real human!!! All last week, every call I made was the same, and listening to the machine thanking me for my patience!! An assumption, as I did not feel patient after the first hour. In the end I did as you have, picked up my current piece of stitching work, and breathed. Thank you for your company and creativity this morning, hope you find some resolve with your phone calls and emails, dates of moving etc. I love what you’re doing.
I love how you have displayed your journals. It has inspired me to do the same. I don't like them all packed away, I want to enjoy looking away them. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful creativity.
I always enjoy looking at people's journals...I have lots of bits that I have created but a lot of the time I'm lacking in inspiration for creating over time in a journal. I'd love to see more of your journals!
You have done a great job of your do over on this journal. Loving the idea of the canvas spine, makes for a very flexible way to have your journal lay flat . Hugs from down under.
Well, you are having quite the day, aren’t you! We can all relate. Your makeover has inspired me to do the same for some covers I made when just learning. Love that binding method too, thank you 🥰
Hello Barbara, you are a true inspiration, I have a junk journal that I finished about 3 years ago, but I never managed to do the cover. Watching you doing these makeovers you're giving me this feeling that I need to go back to it. 👍 👍 👍 About your book shelf, you can give us a fast tour maybe, instead of a full flip through??? Thank you!!! b 🦋
I think this binding looks fabulous. I just had an idea - If you dont have a cinch bookbinding machine use a length of Avery hole reinforcements that come in a roll. Tape it to your cover, draw the holes through the tape with pencil and then punch the holes out with the cropodile. The holes along the side of continuous printer stationary may do the same job too. Thank you for another great video.
Barbara, so adorable...I could watch and learn from your videos all day...with these videos I'm totally inspired to redo my incomplete and neglected journals, especially my first attempt ones from a few years back.. Thank you so so much 💗...mwahs xx😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Love how this turned out! :) I hope you can get through to the power and gas company. They should have your information already so it's really strange that you'd get a bill from months before you moved in. I hope you'e got some kind of 'agreement document' from when you moved in, that you can scan and send to them, referring to todays 'ticket'. Then you've got the proof already and they can go stand in a corner being ashamed of their lack of customer service... :)
Love and blessings from France where we have the similar problems with hotlines and energy companies. I didn’t think it was the same thing in Austria. Yes for the Junk journals on your shelves :-)
Yes, I’m interested in seeing the journals on the shelf. Just as a comparison since they’re all different sizes. It’s hard to see the actual size on the flip throughs but when they’re next to one another it’s easier to tell the size. Such as, I’m just curious to see how big your planners are compared to your art journals. If that makes sense. Lol! Sorry I hope it makes sense!
Barbara, I’m loving this journal makeover. The method of binding I want to try. I’m playing catch up on watching your videos since I’ve been working so much! Thank you for sharing! 🌸💞
I was telling you to add thread to the final hole!😂. I love the look of that method. I wonder how a chunky or feathery yarn would work. May be a little tricky to stitch, but would look wonderful.
Hello Barbara 😊 love your work. ❤ I had a bunch of framed canvas from when I would paint quotes on. I decided to take the canvas off the frames to use in my scrap journals. (The frames will be painted on used for art work or small picture colleges I like to do.) Thank you for ideas on how to use them. The 8 x 11 sheets are perfect for a book cover as well. It has given me an idea to look at second-hand stores for pictures on canvas. I could take them apart. Either keep the painting or paint over it.
Barbara, I absolutely love the makeover cover for this journal. This method of binding is awesome! I have purchased the Cinch Book Binding Machine for myself after watching your last video on it. I can't wait to try it out. Your videos always bring a smile to my face!!
The makeover is great! Love the spine & the thread effect. Have you done a corset style spine? I plan to try one of those one day. Maybe I should do that for the mini journals I’m making - thanks to your journal charm inspiration - I’ve been procrastinating for ages about actually starting a junk journal, since I have such grand plans for an Ancient Egyptian inspired one, so I decided I’d start with a few mini ones to break me in 😊 Have cut down a range of different coloured & textured papers & made signatures for my first one & collected some offcuts to use to make some embellishments, so it’s well on its way. Thank you so much for that inspiration & motivation
I’m sorry you are having an issue with your utility company. I guess the issue is universal we have experienced similar problems here in Canada. Fabulous video my friend. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Dear Barbara, that is a bookcase of pure joy. How you must love sitting at your workspace with that as one of your views. Very relaxing and "smugly" satisfying.
Have a beautiful day,
Barbara 🇦🇺
Well, the anger and frustration you had did not effect your creativity! The journal looks so much better! Your skill is just amazing 🤗❤️
Thanks so much! ❤️

Beautiful! No one would ever know she wasn't already perfect! TFS 🤗
Would love flip thru of your older journals. Creativity is my therapy for frustrations.
I can sympathize with you. Being on hold is the worst. I hate when I have to sit and listen to the music they play along with their little speech about how much you mean to them! It’s so aggravating. I learn so much looking at your journals. So yes, I would like to see more flip through. Thanks
Barbara you are just amazing. I love the transformation. I so appreciate that you share your struggles with us. Ahhh, yes, please give us a tour of your journal shelf. It is eye candy!

Love the new spine. Love the large holes and I like the stitching going through them. Love the color of the journal. Gorgeous.
Yes Barbara, I've gone through what you experienced trying to get through your energy provider...the dreaded wait. I check ✔️ that one and I explain why😅 Anyway, we are troopers for we can handle those annoying inconveniences 😊👍 Your journal came out Fabulous 😍 Love it ❤
I really like the idea of sewing through the holes instead of using the rings! Beautifully crafted!
So pretty! I actually like the spine on the inside better, and the way the holes look! Very satisfying project!😊
This turned out so much better. You may need the ties when you finish all the embellishments! 😂🤣 I love your journals.
Barbara, I so so so understand that whole phone call frustration! Crafting always makes us feel better. I love that idea sewing the cover to the spine. Your colors are so pretty. Love the journal and now she feels a part of all your journals. Lovely! TFS! ❤
look at all of those beautiful journals lol - Barbara i love this makeover - the journal and the signatures are lovely - thank you and be well xx
Such a gorgeous transformation!! 🩵🦋💛 🦉🤭 On hold/lack of customer service...I certainly can identify with your frustration! 😤 Sending you lots of gentle HUGS to get you thru!! 🤗🤗❤🤗🤗
Love how you finished that! And YES…please show us more of your lovely journals…quick shots of a few pages and especially of the covers! 😁👍🏻
Good morning my sweet friend. ❣️🤗Love junk journaling ❤
Thanks for the inspiration, I have a stash of canvass now waiting to become journal spines 😊

Barbara, I adored this stitching method. It is purposeful and adds a great element to the journal cover. Thanks for sharing.
That was so great to watch. Thank you for sharing. I love how you bound it. I want to try that technique.
Beautiful !! Have never seen that spine before!! Very inventive!!! 😻🧑🏻🦰💖

That top paper looks so much like a little mouse or bunny or something!! Cute!
I love the big holes and stitching you did on the spine. It is gorgeous. I will have to give that a try. TFS 😊❤
This is such a satisfying video. I have been working on things in my craft room that are unfinished or half done so this video is right up my alley at the moment. She is a beautiful journal. I can’t wait to see what you will do with her. 😊

Wow! The covers are wonderful and those yellow threads❤❤❤❤!
I ‘m impressed with how brave you were punching holes in the cover!😂😂😂
Thank you! 😃❤️
I love how you have displayed your journals. It has inspired me to do the same. I don't like them all packed away, I want to enjoy looking away them. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful creativity.
Thanks! Yes, they deserve to be admired, so have fun! 😃❤️
I always enjoy looking at people's journals...I have lots of bits that I have created but a lot of the time I'm lacking in inspiration for creating over time in a journal. I'd love to see more of your journals!
Journal tour would be fun!
I would love to see your journals
I hope you can get your problem with the bill fixed. So frustrating.
Love the color of the journal!
Well done. You are so very creative.
I really like the soft spine method. Looks great and lies so nice and flat. Thanks for another helpful and beautiful video!
You have done a great job of your do over on this journal. Loving the idea of the canvas spine, makes for a very flexible way to have your journal lay flat . Hugs from down under.

Liebe Barbara! Danke für dieses Video! Du bist so inspirierend! Sehr schön ist das JJ geworden! ❤
LOVE this technique for your spine! I wonder if you used white gesso or paint instead of the buff color? Your shelves of journals are amazing!
I think this binding looks fabulous. I just had an idea - If you dont have a cinch bookbinding machine use a length of Avery hole reinforcements that come in a roll. Great tip, thanks! 😃
Hi Barbara
Flip through YES PLEASE
Love your journals
Another awesome journal! Blessings and hugs 🤗
Wow, turned out so nice💕
Yes can we see more journals. Also I love your Jane Austen journal inside covers❤
Yet another beautiful journal!! I'm looking forward to seeing how you decorate the pages! And I understand your frustration with customer service. 😡🤐
Love the book shelf. Impressive way to remember your creativity. Maybe my husband will make me a book shelf. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I’m sure you can persuade hubby! 😃❤️
Sewing through the holes is awesome…
Love this journal and the colors are, as Luise would say, you doing you! 😊🐼
I would love to see your journals
Barbara, you are such an inspiration on how we should try to have a happier life! Thank you for sharing!
Aaaw thanks so much! ❤️
Barbara, so adorable...I could watch and learn from your videos all day...with these videos I'm totally inspired to redo my incomplete and neglected journals, especially my first attempt ones from a few years back.. Thank you so so much 💗...mwahs xx😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Thank you Carol! So happy you feel inspired! 😃❤️
Love how this turned out! :)
I hope you can get through to the power and gas company. :)
Thank you Anna! I called again a week later and was able to sort it out 🤓
@@49dragonflies, so good to hear! :)
Helpful tutorial and beautiful journal, signatures, and sewing! Thanks! ❤
Love and blessings from France where we have the similar problems with hotlines and energy companies. I didn’t think it was the same thing in Austria. Yes for the Junk journals on your shelves :-)
I need to fix some of my covers I made the first year I started creating junk journals! 😃 Thank you for the inspiration, Barbara! Hugs! ❤
I LOVE her!!!! Can't wait to watch you work in it!
Barbara, I’m loving this journal makeover. The method of binding I want to try. I’m playing catch up on watching your videos since I’ve been working so much! Thank you for sharing! 🌸💞
This turned out very pretty! I hope we get to see you work in this journal now 😉
I love those rusty pages!
I was telling you to add thread to the final hole!😂. I love the look of that method. I wonder how a chunky or feathery yarn would work. May be a little tricky to stitch, but would look wonderful.
I would love to see all of your journals!
Thank you. Would love to hear about your types of journals. ❤
Yes, perfect! 👍🏻😃❤️
Barbara, I absolutely love the makeover cover for this journal. This method of binding is awesome! I have purchased the Cinch Book Binding Machine for myself after watching your last video on it. I can't wait to try it out. Your videos always bring a smile to my face!!
Thanks so much and have fun with the Cinch! 😃❤️
This is such a great way to make a cover. I too have a small cinch and will try this idea. Thank you.
Love to hear and see journals history
I would love to hear about your beautiful journals!
Absolutely love this journal!! Can't wait to try the canvas covers!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Wow, this turnt out so beautiful. 😍😍😍
Thanks! I have not down the corset style binding yet. Good idea to start with smaller journals. Less intimidating. Have fun! ❤️😃
Beautiful job, Barbara!

I would love to see your journals!
I'm so glad I saw this! I have a journal that needs a wider spine and this is just the thing... yay! :)

I’m sorry you are having an issue with your utility company. I guess the issue is universal we have experienced similar problems here in Canada. Fabulous video my friend. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
