It's kinda a common rule to learn guitar right handed even if your left handed. If you're learning for the first time, it's unnatural to either hand so learning to play right handed gives you access to many, many more guitars without having to get custom one's or wait for the music shop to order a left handed model for you. They simply don't stock many left handed guitars.
