Bhai you are doing great. Believe me you should be grateful that you didn’t get it. I know it’s contrary to popular belief. It is prestigious but the structure and the study are outdated, they impose art films and philosophy. I don’t have any problem with that but aren’t even good at that, also the results I have seen are such that they create extremists. I have 3-4 FTII and SRFTII friends. They are not making movies. They talk and think in a way that restricts them. Pretentious art quotes. And false pride in the fact that they understand cinema. They proudly say ‘ maybe I can’t make good film but I understand cinema. And this is not just one example. And the fact that ftii produced one of the best talents. No doubt. But the number is less and not necessarily cause of the the school coz in filmmaking you can see same number of talent come out of TV/ AD and other background or even no background they just come to Bombay. (writer/ director). There is no one or two definite paths. And I’m happy for you that you learning on your own. That’s the best way and congratulations you have an audience ( that too very decent). Keep it up bro.
