I have a disc edition on ps4, got it before the price hike too. Yes it is not quite as good as War and Fall but it is still pretty fun none the less. Plus Shockwave is playable so for me that is always a plus.

I read somewhere that the "earth" levels were developed in conjunction with the release of "Age of Extinction." The Cybertron levels were built on top of several reused and unused assets from the previous Transformers games. Since "Dark of the Moon" had already been released on the PS3 & Xbox 360, it's nice to see that the franchise didn't quite go "Extinct" just yet. It's not often considered the "best" Transformers game on the planet, but it's definitely a game I have revisited several times over the years. Happy to see someone of repute give it the credit it deserves...
Yea, I believe that's all correct. It doesn't follow any Age of Extinction story stuff but the robot designs are based on it. Plus you know, the movie version of Grimlock is just kinda there lol. Dark of the Moon is my favourite Bay Transformers movie but I never actually played the PS3/360 game. I did play the first movie game and Revenge of the Fallen but never got around to the 3rd one, despite it being my fave movie lol. Not sure why either. Still though, Rise of the Dark Spark is a decent game and it does tie into the Cybertron games so its worth playing I think. Also, I dunno about "someone of repute" haha. How are y’all playing? I can’t even start anything without having it crash… I’ve been trying to play it for a few months but every time I try it just crashes over and over. BTW I have it on XB1.
To be fair. The Dark of The Moon game was made as a prequel to the film. So i can understand them just trying to make something familiar without being the same to market it. Also, the devs got shafted and had to make 6 ports of this game without any other studio help. I heard, but I'm not sure how true it is that there was a texture found in the files that says something like "Go easy on us, we made this in 6 months." Just Activision being greedy and trying to get High Moon Studios to get them mad profit off of Deadpool over letting them do this.
That's very true, it definitely does make sense when you consider the Dark of the Moon game and its contents. I've also heard about the texture rumour but as you said, I havent been able to confirm it myself. Despite what the game is and how little time they had to make it, I do genuinely like it. I dont think its as good as War and Fall, but its fine for what it is. I enjoyed it back when it first released and I enjoyed it again when I played it for this video. I'd love a brand new game built for the current generation on this engine but I dont know if that'll ever happen. Thanks for watching though! I appreciate it!

I picked this one up mindlessly years ago when it released because I love transformers so much, it was definitely a disappointment compared to the other games, however I did enjoy the cybertron sections and the escalation mode greatly. I have many fond memories of glitching outside of every map I could get outside of with kickback to explore
To be fair, I suspect a lot of people missed this one. As I said in the video, I bet they saw the cover and thought "live action movies? No thanks". Now as you know, I love the Michael Bay films. Its literally my favourite film series (except the Bumblebee movie which I thought was awful after the first 10-15mins). So for me, it was a day one purchase back in 2014. Rise of the Dark Spark is basically just a random game made by a small studio with the assets of the other games and a few new ones. Its not amazing but it IS kinda like the unofficial 3rd game in the trilogy. The Cybertronian stuff occurs between War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, plus it lets you play as some characters you would couldn't use in the previous games like Shockwave or Sideswipe. All in all, its worth a go if you like the other games and have the means to play it. Cheers as usual John, good to see you here!😊👍🏻
While not a great game or anything truly special, this has one mode I truly enjoy and still play which is Escalation. The amount of transformers you can play as in that is just amazing. I got the dlc before being delisted and I was jumping with glee knowing even the Insecticons are playable. I play escalation mode to relieve stress and just have time passing fun. Its no masterpiece but that's the point of games, to have fun

@@ConsolesOnlyGaming I play on my ps3 and I play escalation by myself. Still need to be online though. If you go in the menus and hit multiplayer, it'll say the servers are still up (they aren't) and escalation can be played solo
ah I see, well at lest you can still play it offline. I tried doing that on my PS4 copy (played on PS5) and it wouldn't let me play solo unfortunately. There might be a way around it but I'm not sure. Cheers for letting me know.👍🏻

There really is a surprising amount of good Transformers games out there isn't there? lol. I think War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron ARE better than Rise of the Dark Spark but as you said, if you lower your expectations a little bit, it can still be enjoyable. Rise is set between War and Fall and you do get to play as some characters you couldn't use in the other games such as Sideswipe and Shockwave, which is cool. I love the first 2 and I enjoyed dark of the moons MP despite it being lackluster but this one left a bad taste In my mouth and that’s entirely on how short it was and the lack of MP. I could get over the washed out visuals just like I did it DOTM but I was so disappointed because there was no replay value. Escalation was half baked but now knowing that’s the only game I’m able to play on current G I want to play it :(. I desperately want to to play the other 2 but my 360 is packed away.

So on Canadian Amazon at least. XBox copies, that I can't ship here, are: one 'used, very good' for 64 bucks, not bad... Then there's 2 new copy for, let's see here....ah, 290, and 388. Ps4 isn't as bad, 70 to 100. Wii U had a copy for 200... That's just all over the place. Nonsense really. It's too bad what scalpers try and do, which forces a lot of gamers to just emulate, and fall into digital naturally, which ironically, rises the prices further of the physical media. I remember in the early 2000s, being able to buy some amazing ps2 games from a bargain bin for like, 10/15 bucks. Was able to bolster my collection thanks to that. Ps3 was simular.

Its become so mainstream that CEOs from outside the industry have infected it and with that comes scalpers and opportunists. Such is life lol. I got my copy of Dark Spark from eBay on PS4 for £22GBP which is around $34CAD and $27USB. Its not too uncommon here yet and the Xbox version is even cheaper. I completely understand why that's the case as well. Gotta build your reputation and trust, pay your dues so to speak. This game is considered to be the worst TF game. - Awful sound design, - messed up gameplay mechanics, - confusing story, - bad graphics, - the Cybertron games weapons don't match with Earth mode bots, - there are characters that should not be there (Insecticon Bruiser, Titan class Decepticon...), - wrong Megatron design. - loot boxes, - ridiculously difficult enemy ai. Etc.
Yea its a bit weird that's for sure. Luckily they aren't paid for with real money, its just this games way of unlocking stuff as you play. Probably not the best system to go with though as it seems out of place here.

This was the first transformers game Ive played and I dont regret it..
2:57 never say, never, as the PC and PS3 versions of the servers were put back online, for all of the transformers games, that had online multiplayer.

This game was my first ever transformers game I played hell out this game . But sadly something streng happen and game stopped working for some reason
