Heck yeah, the sequel! Thank you for playing the second Liminal Gallery 2. Since last time, the map has definitely evolved into much more than the title suggests and I’m happy that you enjoyed this as well. The previous gallery was actually the first map I ever made in gmod and I probably never would have done that without finding your channel. Admittedly the first map was not that good, but ever since it’s release, hundreds of hours of work went into the sequel. It feels incredible to finish your project and actually get the result you’ve been hoping for all this time. Also I don’t think I’m quite done with hammer, so I guess we’re going for a trilogy? everytime he uploads i get comforted knowing that he didnt get lost in whatever weird and wacky scenario he tried to visit this time around. who knows, maybe one day he gets stuck in a gmod liminal space and never uploads again.

The cool thing about the design of the statue is its simplicity actually works in its favor because it has no actual face it always feels like it's staring directly into your soul no matter what angle you see it from truly unnerving
Huge step up from the last map. In my opinion, Source really masters the concept of uncanny and liminal spaces. In fact, the Half-Life 2 Beta in itself sort of captures that feeling pretty well, even if it's usually unintentional.
Half Life 2 Beta overall is very creepy, much more creepier than the release version. I think that Dark Interval mod really captures that feeling perfectly.

something I love about The Librarian is that he has a very characteristic I-just-got-jumpscared sound which resembles the kind of heaving noise you make after hitting your foot against a wall
The room with the pyramid and the half-built sets made my heart stop when you walked in- it looks just like a dream I had once, a pyramid in a sort of giant hangar, and a bunch of sets built around it in a ring, all for individual one-room shows being filmed at the same time. Absolutely uncanny, such an odd feeling to see something so close to a dream I'd only ever put down in a journal and some private DMs. Really incredible map!
7:05 what you're refering to is called Trypophobia "it is an aversion to the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps" especially in objects, people, animals etc where they shouldn't be :)
Honestly I'm always impressed what people think up for these maps. This was very interestingly done and some thing genuinely surprised me like the room that turned from day to night was fascinating, so beyond "liminal" content to be inspired from but still kinda connected because I have posed the question "is this the backrooms?" This map reminds me heavily of The Stanley Parable, plus aspects of the ultra deluxe additions. Due to it starting fairly mundune then you end up find things like backstage designs, unfinished locations, outdoor stuff indoors, and I mean you could say carrying around a watermelon is a security blanket somewhat like a certain bucket ends up being in Parable. The sarcastic, controlling, an sometimes dark narrator has just been replaced with everyone's favorite Librarian.

9:34 actually, my parents apartment have curtians instead of doors, i didn't have any doors from the moment we moved out our own home, not for bedooms, nor for bathroom or toilet room, even now the only doors in apartment are balcony door and entrance door, that's very uncomfortable, because if you just want some privacy, or scared of the outside of your room (i have a certian fear of darkness and night), you have that feeling, that everything that separates you and unwanted guests - a mere cloth piece, that could be easily swung open by whoever or whatever would feel like staring at you, easily invading your fragile safe space and if it's, for example, closed curtians of the living room entrance, they give the feeling that something could very well be in your house without you knowing and seeing it (kinda like a cat effect, they don't like closed doors for that same reason) (edit: fixed a typo; edit2: added more stuff)
I'll just say this Librarian, that billboard you encounter after getting past the first segment of the map, that's a portal asset. I think it's probably a portal 2 asset. not sure. Either way, the phrase "DO NOT TRUST HER" is referring to Glados if memory serves me correctly.

this just made me realize how liminal summer school felt, they had all the classroom furniture in the hallways making it extremely narrow to walk through, and nobody was there.

I've been binging your channel for a while now, and I am enjoying your content! There is this weird thing about your commentary that I have noticed, and its that I do not relate to practically any of the things you say or do at any time, I am often baffled by some of the conclusions you come to, or some of the things you mention that you can't help imagine. I like regarding the melons in these maps as native entities that are just completely passive... but unmoving when in their direct presence. Unsure about that statue though...
When I played through this map there was a scare around the 57:30 mark that you missed lol. I think you were looking at one of the doors or something when it happened
50:55 I would call it a screamer. The difference is that a screamer pops up when you watch something that's supposed to be normal, non horror based content. While a jump scare is used for horror content, which makes you expect it to happen, you just don't know when. This map isn't advertised as a horror map, so it counts as a screamer in my book.
I don't know how or why but I got more scared of a water melon in this whole video then anything else when you were going up from the granny's basement ladder

That’s exactly how I feel about AI images. Because it was made by a computer, the art doesn’t happen until humans try to interpret it. In other words, you make it art by trying to interpret it. It kind of makes you question the entire process of art. I find it endlessly fascinating

While a jump scare is used for horror content, which makes you expect it to happen, you just don't know when. This map isn't advertised as a horror map, so it counts as a screamer in my book.

That’s exactly how I feel about AI images. Because it was made by a computer, the art doesn’t happen until humans try to interpret it. In other words, you make it art by trying to interpret it. It kind of makes you question the entire process of art. I find it endlessly fascinating
