Behind the Build - A Story of the Summit

The Seattle Convention Center Summit building opened to visitors in late January 2023. After nearly a decade of planning, construction, development and securing financing during a pandemic, building under and replacing streets, producing a $93M community benefits package, $150M in work with WMBE contractors, 1M apprentice hours and 6,000 construction jobs -- North America's first vertical convention center has been developed. The Summit is sparkling in the heart of the downtown Seattle, and this is a story about how largely local companies made it happen.

This building is absolutely gorgeous. First thing I noticed getting here was how it went up. So unique!
