I like your technical term of "squidging." It is the perfect word to describe what you do with the miliput. It's also fun to say! Adorable little project!

Thanks Diane, squidging is a highly technical term indeed ! Cheers, Jim

Thank you Jim for another great video. This is the first time I've understood how to use zero jaws. I think my local wood turning shop is going to get a visit soon.
Also, the Bumblebee is a fun project. I think Box wood is one of the finest woods to turn but it's becoming increasingly hard to obtain. This is good news in a sense as it's a superb wood for carving and is now in greater demand as the result of the ban on elephant ivory.
    More videos please.
    Alan.

Thank you Alan. The zero jaws are great, I use them a lot and it is another way of holding those scraps of wood we end up with. I really could do with another patriot chuck so that I can leave them permanently attached. They expand to 32mm and close down to approx 4mm, they would be great for model ship builders. I also use them for resizing dowels. As for Ivory, I agree, I think it is totally abhorrent that anyone could want to harm an elephant. There is still more that can be done to stop this evil trade. I have made a start on the knife project , thank you again.
      Cheers
      Jim

Great project Jim, those jaws look handy too, I have a set for small work holding...but they are knuckle scrapers!.

Thanks Mike, yes I would not be without my zero jaws, I use them for lots of things. They could do with their own dedicated chuck so I would not have to keep swapping jaws over ! Take care mate, Jim

A good video Jim. I just watched this for a second or third time and I think it was the first video of yours I watched several years ago.
I tried the link you gave for the mandrel saver and it seems John Davis has closed permanently. Do you happen to have the brand name of the mandrel saver you used in this video? Thanks for your time.
    Ron

Hi Ron, sorry for the late reply. Yes sadly John has retired. I think the mandrel saver was made by Planet, a great bit of kit and I wo7ld highly recommend one.
      Cheers

I really like this one Jim. I like the use of imagination, instead of just using wooden pulls. I think my grandson would enjoy these on his pulls. Do you know if the Robert Sorby Zero Jaws will fit a Nova Super Nova 2 chuck or a Nova G3 chuck? I would love to use them on one of my chucks. Thanks for your time, and again I enjoyed the video very much! Ron

Thank you Ron. I use my pen mandrel for lots of things but not pens ! I love my Robert Sorby Zero jaws, you will see them in several of my videos, including my latest one. I'm sorry but I have no experience of the Nova chucks, so could not tell you if they fit or not. You could try googling it or better still call a supplier who stocks both. Thanks for watching.
      All the best
      Jim.
