Indeed, Corruption during war should be punishable by death. (capital punishment). This costs more than money. It costs LIVES!!! GUR has proven to get to people outside of Ukraine's borders. They should make example of people like Timur Mindich and maybe plant a gift near one of his residences such as a "faulty electric scooter" and wait for him to come out for it to spontaneously disassemble or under his car to send a message to traitors so that it acts as a deterrent. This will not happen though as Zalensky's friends will not have the GUR set on them to bring them to justice.... We could see Zelensky being impartial if we saw real ACTION against these scumbag traitors. Good honest people; fathers, sons, husbands are dying due to these scumbags. Yet we do not see them getting eliminated like other enemies of the state.... unfortunately.
@Aurimas97Mindich is in Israel, meaning he is one of those people. They seem to be largely untouchable, save for a short period between 1939 and 1945, allegedly.
What have you expected from people that are hunting their own people and sending them to meatgrinder? Goal is rmvl of Slavs, and both UA nad RU governments are doing it.
@sortaspicy9278 I guess he used "sawdust" as a metaphor to describe any random filler powder. Sawdust was used to stretch bread in times of hunger and thus became a symbol of scarcity and low quality items.
I think this is irrelevant , because after 2 in a row. There is no point arguing rather or not it's company standards issue or straight up sabotage. For those in the rear line, it will just be bureaucracy over several months. For those in the ground, they'll get to walk into a room that had zero actual clearing.
Should be treason to produce faulty munitions/weapons for your own army while being invaded, especially if it's a reoccurring issue with a particular company.
When Soviet era fuzes from 1979 are the only functioning part you know someone was hunched over, grinning and rubbing their hands together before making these.
Interesting idea so I looked it up. While this FEELS treasonous, most countries require an intent to aid the enemy. So if it was just done for greed then it's a different crime.
Ukraine was the most corrupt nation in Europe before the war, the war might have just made it worse. Obviously other nations are massively corrupt too but usually in a slightly more roundabout way.
That’s treason. Soldiers risk their life to deliver a fire cracker to the enemy so a thief can drive a nice car and impress strangers at the traffic lights.
Depending on the age, the aluminum can settle to the bottom or can be oxidized to a point where the IPN does not ignite it. It can also have too much brissance and blow out faster than ignition, either by the thin sleeve not damping the effect of RDX enough or from too much RDX. They can use smaller aluminum powder but this creates more risks in manufacture and use. My guess is that it's old stuff. If it's new then they are doing something wrong.
Their isopropyl nitrate may not be pure enough. Water left behind oxidizes the aluminum. Or their aluminum powder may not be properly coated with stearic acid. There could be so many issues down the supply chain that may not be related to that organization who produced the final product. But like when people complain of corruption and failures within military, and then you guys fix those issues, you also have to tell them to fix their supply chain and manufacture issues. There is always the question of sabotage or corruption on all supply chains. This is why foreign support is so necessary for a smaller country at war with a larger country. Because they have the resources to sabotage at all levels, a russian man in a suit with ukrainian documentation doing a business deal, may be hurting your army more than 5,000 uniformed russian soldiers.
I believe the design failure is the plastic top and bottom caps essentially being "crimped" into the main body. Upon initial explosion, there isn't sufficient pressure / heat to ignite the thermobaric mix. The main charge just pops the ends off. Note when he picks up the pieces after testing them.. the plastic is in one piece. The body pieces are bowed out, but only sufficiently to release the end caps. After which all pressure is lost and it becomes pieces of a paperweight... Designs like this should be limited to smoke grenades. I wonder if that's what the original body design was for, and they simply tried to repurpose it.
thermobaric explosions don't happen because of anything under pressure though. They work by spreading out a fuel mixture into the air, and then igniting it once it's properly spread out, so it essentially detonates all at once. Pressure containment is a bad thing for a thermobaric weapon. Maybe it's a lost in translation thing, that or people here have no clue what a thermobaric weapon actually is. It should have two charges, one charge to expel the mix into the air, and then another charge to ignite it
@moonasha Yes, and correct, however you still need pressure / compression of some sort for the initial charge to detonate to the level needed and spread out the thermobaric mixture before it ignites with the second charge. The explosion shown is insufficient to even do this initial detonation... therefore the second will never initiate.
Have the designers and deciding officers to be the first ones to use those grenades in real combat at the frontline. They will make sure those thermobaric grenades will work!
Where is Quality Control? They should have a system to ensure that very few 'use once only' get to the place of use. Ukraine is not a backward place where people don't understand statistics. But here we have seen a high proportion of junk fit only for safe destruction. It might be a good idea to drop them randomly in enemy territory to let them dispose of them.
Easy field solution to mistaking it for a smoke grenade in the dark is to make a thicker rib of tape around the middle of it. That way you can feel the difference, and it won't affect performance.
@CookieeJuice@CookieeJuice You watched the video right? Unlike in USA, in Europe we are taught basic chemistry in school, manufacturing nitrates at home was common in many countries till not so long time ago in Europe, as you could pay taxes with it. Just because you are uneducated, ignorant fool, does not mean everyone else is, no matter how much government propaganda you eat about "american exceptionalism" while large part of you are illiterate in the only language you are taught 😂. USA really is just a rapidly devolving third world country.
Eternal Ukraine..... Always the same story. In peace, in war, in good times, in desperate times. Even at the best moment it seams like Ukraine will find a way and make you cry.... Every single story about Ukraine finishes with tears in the eyes. Such a beautiful country, such beautiful people, such beautiful mind. Yet, it is like someone has put a spell on Ukraine. Like God makes everything about Ukraine end up in drama. Real drama that leave you speechless, unable to comprehend the depth of pain and misfortune..... Eternal Ukraine....
Thanks for the honest video Valgear. But I kind of wished you had thrown in the Russian thermobaric grenade down the basement after the Ukrainian one failed just to see how it should look. I saw your video on the Russian version, but it didn't give an idea how it would look if it went off inside a confined space. Also, maybe the failure point is the fuze? There has to be a reason why the Russians went with a different fuze over the UZ?
Історія з УкрОборонПромом це не просто про корупцію, кумівство та відсутність будь-якої якості. Це про злочинну недбалість та свідомий підрив обороноздатності держави. So, you think Government should stay and watch every worker who is involved in ammunition production? The problem is almost every Ukrainian is corrupted and will harm fellow Ukrainians if FSB pay him some money.
Our version in the United States we refer to as "Homewreckers" because they can othen times flatten a small house or cause any flammable items to ignite. In small structures they are not survivable even behind cover because of the immense overpressure. I'm sad to see yours did not work. Although I wouldn't recommend you being that close when a real one does perform properly.
So sad how many eastern European countries suffer so hard from corruption. I've been to Serbia 🇷🇸, Montenegro 🇲🇪 and Albania 🇦🇱 and I met so many kind and wonderful people there. Came to their countries as a rich tourist and many still wanted to share what they got, especially the people which had little wealth themselves. Their countries though are littered with mismanagement, corruption and conflicts. Trash and wild cats and dogs everywhere, half finished buildings, old and neglected public infrastructure. Met a lineman from Montenegro who can't afford living in his hometown Podgorica anymore because prices rises with increasing inflow of tourists. Man, this guy is climbing around on live powerlines to keep the electrical grid alive and he can't afford to live in his hometown anymore. That's corruption hiding in plain sight. Wish you peoples that you can life in peace and put your energy into your beautiful cultures to show the world who you are. 🇺🇦🙏🏼♥️
The difference is that in Russia, when they find out you are passing off fake materiel to the military, you don't get to escape to Israel. Instead you "fall" out a window of a tall building. Stay safe out there my friend and I appreciate your videos as always!
There are several ways to get what is called a thermobaric effect, not sure its always clear as its not just a conventional explosive. There is timing issues and mixtures that need to be tuned
It's an amazing innovation, the first ever less than lethal thermobaric grenade.
Humanitarian weapon.
perfect for riot control
Wow... A flashbang?..
The cap was almost as loud as the booster!
@artemefimov8215 but without hurting your eyes!
Corruption in peace time is bad enough, corruption during war is high treason.
Indeed, Corruption during war should be punishable by death. (capital punishment). This costs more than money. It costs LIVES!!! GUR has proven to get to people outside of Ukraine's borders. @breadyboi7286 a fellow noticer shalom
What have you expected from people that are hunting their own people and sending them to meatgrinder? Goal is rmvl of Slavs, and both UA nad RU governments are doing it.
The way of Eastern Europe for all time.
It should be issued with a sock, so that at least it can be used as a melee weapon.
nail the sock to a stick and make a flail
🥲🤦♂️
@War_Economy_Enjoyer nyet sock is fine
Or attach it to a stick and use it as a club
The disappointment as you are fighting on the front line and they stab you in the back for a few dollars, is heartbreaking
What, you thought the war would suddenly stop Ukraine from being the most corrupt nation in Europe.
This is ukraine
@Veritas419 Where do you get this line? Russia consistently ranks lowest.
@Veritas419 they're no where near the "most corrupt" nation in europe
@Berryman34 Russia is an Asian nation.
You should open one and see if it's filled with actual explosive or just sawdust
Would that not cause a large difference in weight? Sawdust is going to be much less dense than explosives right
@sortaspicy9278 depends on how hard you press it in
@sortaspicy9278 I guess he used "sawdust" as a metaphor to describe any random filler powder. Sawdust was used to stretch bread in times of hunger and thus became a symbol of scarcity and low quality items.
@sortaspicy9278 There is a wide variety of explosive compounds with different densities.
I think this is irrelevant , because after 2 in a row. There is no point arguing rather or not it's company standards issue or straight up sabotage. For those in the rear line, it will just be bureaucracy over several months. For those in the ground, they'll get to walk into a room that had zero actual clearing.
Sabotaging the ammunition supply causes so much damage it’s crazy
Should be treason to produce faulty munitions/weapons for your own army while being invaded, especially if it's a reoccurring issue with a particular company.
When Soviet era fuzes from 1979 are the only functioning part you know someone was hunched over, grinning and rubbing their hands together before making these.

It is done intentionally goal of both RU and UA governments are r-moval of Slavic men. Both govs are run not by Slavs.
theyre 40 years old, who knows if they were stored properly.
I wouldn't be surprised if some production & QA/QC employees are getting paid by the Russians to let duds slip through.
Damn, These are almost safe to use for airsoft. Almost
Airsoft came to mind as well.
well if the body was some ldpe i would compare it to tagin grenades...
the explosion and its effects remind me more of airsoft granades than a thermobaric weapon 😭
fr😂😂😂
The corruption is very disappointing. So many people taking advantage of a difficult situation
Sums up world leaders in a nutshell.
thats war, baby!
But was it surprising?
LOL
Ukraine was the most corrupt nation in Europe before the war, the war might have just made it worse. Obviously other nations are massively corrupt too but usually in a slightly more roundabout way.
@Smirnov1885 nope that was russia then belarussia then ukraine xD
New year's firecracker ahhhh handgrenade
Big enough that if it were filled with Ammonal it would cause big trouble!
That’s treason. Soldiers risk their life to deliver a fire cracker to the enemy so a thief can drive a nice car and impress strangers at the traffic lights.
The company must be corrupt and in control by the Russians. Or just heartless Ukrainian criminals. Either is terrible.
Noone cares.
@GaiusCaligula234 speak for yourself...
@robertscott961 If anyone cared, this would not have happened. But noone cares, so the carousel keeps going.
@GaiusCaligula234 Thats just your opinion
The safest grenades I've ever seen.
When you buy Thermobaric grenades from Temu 🤣
Never heard someone describe a hand grenade as “aesthetically pleasing”, except the “Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch” of course.
May be if there was a rabbit w/ huge fangs!
They should have ribs or bumps like old poison bottles for the dark if they are too similar to smoke cans.
I can't even understand how painful and stupid this is. It hurts.
Depending on the age, the aluminum can settle to the bottom or can be oxidized to a point where the IPN does not ignite it. It's so easy to do things properly, ridiculous that they even shipped these. No way they didn't know.
And as an American with a pyro kink, I’m writing all this down 😁
These so-called thermobaric hand-grenades are defuckive. Probably not intentionally but defuckive nevertheless.
so they developed a perfectly fine grenade with a very short shelf life shiped them out then found the defect because of the quicker supply turnaround
Looks like their hallow. Ever open one up and see if there is anything inside?
its treason. corrupt businessmen suppling faulty ammo for troops while in active combat. Should be blocked from travel and returned and dealt with
And put against the wall. The post-communist corruption never ceases to amaze me.
Val teammeeting in teamhouse in 30mins
This just seems more like a baby flash-bang more than any sort of lethal weapon.
Glad to hear from you Valgear even if it's not good news, thank you and stay safe.
Its good to see you in 26...thanks for uploading more fascinating content
I have to admit being shocked at three failures in a row
They seem to be intended to not work from the start. Multiple grenades from different batches, cant be a coincident.
I believe the design failure is the plastic top and bottom caps essentially being "crimped" into the main body. Upon initial explosion, there isn't sufficient pressure / heat to ignite the thermobaric mix. The main charge just pops the ends off.

The explosion shown is insufficient to even do this initial detonation... therefore the second will never initiate.
There was no booster even. That is purely the uzrgm2 fuse popping off. The booster would at least give some punch. This is wild.....
I really like the way Val says "On the bottom".
Are you a gay?
@StrathconaPokeMart only Ohn Dee Bodtem
It's a pretty good flashbang I guess.
These are simply the 4th of July recreational variants
Hard agree. We used em for drone munitions to littke affect
Have the designers and deciding officers to be the first ones to use those grenades in real combat at the frontline.
They will make sure those thermobaric grenades will work!

@20chocsaday They seem to work as intended, which is not at all.
3:47 half life 2 grenade
I think if you filled that grenade with cornstarch and kerosene it would have a more "thermobaric" effect than that.... hahaha
I am sorry so that you are getting Fake Grenades. Use 400g TnT with a fuze
Good old chunk of angry playdough never dissapoints
Use 300 g of C4 or similar plastic explosive and wrap it with a thin layer of 100 g of aluminium powder in plastic foil.
@nehorlavazapalka plastic foil?
@ThumbDrprobably means saran wrap 😂
@ThumbDr It's the thin plastic wrap people use to cover food containers and such
Those dredges need to face the wall. No blindfolds for racketeers.
Use a full mag, start from the toes and work your way up.
Be safe Valgear! I love your videos ❤ Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦 Blessings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Such corruption is horrific.
My fart is louder than this shit, and it probably has more killing power than this grenade.
Dang that is tough
daisy-chain like twenty of them together; one might work haha
That's not a grenade, that's a glorified firecracker
14:56 One cannot help but notice that we all deal with the same enemy.
Much respect calling them out. You’re a good man. 🙏
As disappointing as the result is, at least you can get a chuckle about how the case looks like a guy holding his hands up in surrender at 12:14.
Easy field solution to mistaking it for a smoke grenade in the dark is to make a thicker rib of tape around the middle of it. That way you can feel the difference, and it won't affect performance.
That must be so frustrating and disheartening. 🇺🇦
But thank you for your honest review.
I see they sent you the grenades from Arc Raiders.
Painful to watch. Thank you and all the other heros on the frontline for definding europe.
I didn't see any filling of any kind in any of the explosions. I made far more dangerous fireworks when I was 12.
I take it you're an explosive expert? 😂
@CookieeJuice@CookieeJuice You watched the video right? . BTW you are right that was just the boster, your camera would be gone if it ignited properly. Now these grenades are very small but not this
I can feel the frustration. God Damn the Industrial War Machine.
That's unreal!🤯
Thermobarics are notoriously tricky to get the chemistry/blend correct, but yeah, looks like corruption.
they didnt realize it had a shelf life in time
Our version in the United States we refer to as "Homewreckers" because they can othen times flatten a small house or cause any flammable items to ignite. In small structures they are not survivable even behind cover because of the immense overpressure.

dutch firecracker thermobaric grenade
literally a safe handgrenade 💔
Aluminized Enhanced Blast Explosive Based on Polysiloxane Binder
Hope you guys up there get them corrupted people in power away. Stay safe
That's fucked up, what the actual fuck.
They are from 47 years ago... I don't know how correct this "test" was.
Keep bringing attention to the matter, dont give up....
Good presentation and informative
The difference is that in Russia, when they find out you are passing off fake materiel to the military, you don't get to escape to Israel. Instead you "fall" out a window of a tall building.
Stay safe out there my friend and I appreciate your videos as always!
Hey I sent you an email I don’t know if you received it or if it fell into spam. Thanks for the response ahead of time.
We live in such an insane time…
I’m sitting in my bedroom and watching someone fighting in Ukraine review a very real grenade
The powder is wet😂
You have the evidence. Take it higher. Like really higher.
Are you actually this stupid? Do you really not realise how corrupt Ukraine government is?
WTF is RUclips not sending me notifications about new Valgear videos?
It'd be interesting if you opened one up
you got any spare fingers to find out?
@MicMc539should be fine to take apart without the fuse in it, and only using hand tools. No grinders lol
Polish fireworks that size is deadlier than this..
This is why you test the equipment independently and as a rule before actually depending your life on it.
With Love from Austria.
That's demoralizing.
Very informative video, in both ways, thx
That was very interesting. Things in war are very complicated.
Hej úžasné videa jen tak dál. 💪🏼💪🏼.
Truly sad.
good video bro thank you
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
God speed brother.
Bro my airsoft flashbangs go off with more oomf lol
These airsoft grenades look a bit dangerous.
Ours worked fine in Udachne. Maybe it would vary between batches. But it doesn’t surprise me how they can be botched by manufacturers for a penny.
Reminds me of a gun saying: "The loudest noise you will ever hear is a click when you're expecting a bang" 🤔
Keep your head up!
Eastern Europe truly is the mother of humor.
Heartbeat finally. Stay safe.
Wow this would be a perfect Airsoft pyro grenade. Looks about as violent of an explosion as a Taggin pyro grenade, maybe even less 😂
That is just treason against the people 🤯
Treason from 1979...
You might want to turn on the thanks feature for the comments. Some people don’t have PayPal, but everybody has google.
Underrated comment.
