InMotion V10F Teardown (2021) - What's the build quality like?

  • Today we are going to take apart the InMotion V10F. In this video you will find out about it's build quality, how it's made and how well assembled it is. The inmotion V10F is definitely not an easy wheel to fully disassemble as it requires a multitude of screws and correct tools for it but a tire change is actually not that hard to perform. All in all the waterproofing seems to be on a very high standard as well as the water ingress protection into the motherboard area and battery compartment. It does use a lot of cheap philips screws that go into he plastic and these are also not that hard to damage. In spite of that the threads don't seem to have a lot of give and all in all the build quality of the wheel seems solid.

    V10 was my first wheel and I still love it. It may not have the highest top speed, but it is super nimble, quiet, good speakers, good headlight, fun LEDs and the tire provides one of the most comfortable rides. Highly recommend to any beginners or people who are looking for a great all around wheel.

      I got this a week ago for my first wheel because I liked the idea of it being a fairly safe wheel. I can already cruise along quite happily, and so far I am very pleased with my purchase choice. A V11 would have been awesome to be honest, but it would have cost me 700€ more and I kinda wanted to see how I go.

    I was going to DIY some stands from yogablocks and velcro. But now I am going to buy these flower pots for balcony and call it a day.
    V10f is build very very well. It doesn't look like a hackjob or a hobby project. I was surprised the battery sits on top. It's allmost impossible to get water in the motherboard or battery.

      Yes!, this is one of the most important aspects of any review imo. Going through the actual build quality of the product.
      Just outside looks doesn't tell us much about whether a wheel is good or bad quality.

      @@4nlimited3dition_4n3d I totally agree. I am impressed with the design of the speaker modules being symmetrical and how the inner case halves completely surround the battery and with silicone! Then the controller is also in its own compartment and not just willy nilly exposed behind a piece of exterior shell. That second compartment has me intrigued at what to fill it with :)

    The nylon screws for the pedal is for the friction lock. I wish all wheels use that instead magnets. Magnets are useless when you have jump pads.

    • @duncanoo
      @duncanoo 3 года назад

      it is not for friction lock. For this purpose there is one screw under the pedal, (with blue glue on the movie)

      @@duncanoo what are you talking about? The set screws on the bottom holds the pedal rod in place to prevent rotation. Then the nylon screws can squeeze the rod from both ends to have friction for you to fold up the pedals. Seriously, I own this wheel and disassembled it many times. That's how it works!

    Hello from France and thank you for your very explicit video. When I turn stationary in place to the right or to the left, my wheel tilts forward or backward, this is not normal I think. Where is the gyroscopic sensor, the one that allows the motor to keep the wheel in a vertical position?
    Is there an exploded plan of V10?

    The motherboard cover is good, but it is not complete protection. Dust and water can (and will) get inside through the cable cutouts. Still, it greatly limits the amounts and the wetness I found in is probably just from air moisture.
    By the way, a new V10 looks exactly the same inside as far as I can tell. It just has different battery cells.

    • @Kekafuch
      @Kekafuch 3 года назад +1

      I think both these wheels have been out for a while and InMotion definitely silently changed some things to water seal this thing. I read that the V10 even came with increased capacity because the cells were the same price but InMotion never announced they just put in the better cells. Its confirmed the controller, motor is all the same. Just the battery.

    Inmotion's build quality is why I chose them for my First wheel & V11 for my suspension option (Z10 is just to hard to get in USA). This booger is a beast for it's size. I would push it hard with my 230lbs, until I got cautious about my weight overpowering wheels. Does sound like a copy machine in "OFF ROAD" Mode.
    Cut 2.5" inches off the Trolley Handle and so much easier to use. Raises it from the brake light, felt it was to close blocking some visibility. I want someone behind to know my fat a$$ is stopping.
