I love the one with the plain fabric you threw at your idea of ugly fabric. Really really love. The template thing possibly just needed to have the blocks rotated. Maybe give it another try? I don’t see anything wrong with the one with no “wadding”. Wadding/other quilt “stuffings” are not mandatory unless you’re entering a competition. If it honestly bothers you that much add a new backing. The old back becomes your stuffing. Perfect for hot weather. I make a lot of test blocks while trying ideas that won’t get out of my head. Some of them are epic fails. If it will lay flat I incorporate it into a block that I expand by adding other odd bits. I expand that into 3 or 4 larger quilt as you go blocks that I then join together in a twin sized quilt. I think of them as bonus quilts because I often mix in a fun kids print and a couple of a kids favorite colors. Kids love these because they see it as fun and made with joy. The things that make them rejects are the exact things that make kids love them. Stress free because it wasn’t perfect to begin with. You have such a tremendous talent. Enjoy all of your sewing time.
The third shirt was kind of awesome, but then, I like wild clothes. I hope you keep us posted on what you do with your hexi quilt. Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes. I was with my family, for which I am thankful.

The last quilt would make a great hoodie or jacket for you 🤔
