Since I'm Swedish, it's weird how many fruits in Russian sound exactly like fruits in Swedish

I think Пирожное is what we might call "gateau" (from French of course).

Я приготовила борщ, бефстроганов, и пирожки. Мне нужно потренироваться правильно складывать тесто для пирожков. Русская кухня это хорошая еда. Спасибо за очередное хорошее видео Федор !!

Я приготовила борщ, бефстроганов и пирожки. Мне нужно потренироваться правильно месить тесто для пирожков. В русской кухне вкусная ("хорошая" it's more about healthy in this case) еда.

Got a tip for you. Words that end in consonants are masculine, while words than end in vowels are either neuter (о and е) or feminine (а and я). The tricky part is words that end in ь (soft sign) as they can be both masculine and feminine. There are exceptions to this rule, but there’s not that many of them. Funnily enough, one the first words that people learn is words like папа (dad) and мужчина (a man) which both are exceptions to this rule. For some reason, words that refer to male family members are all messed up. For example, дядя (uncle) and дедушка (grandpa) should also be feminine based on their endings but they obviously are not. I wonder if there’s a ‘historical’ explanation to this.
Edit. Forgot to say that words have to be in the nominative case for you to apply the rule.
Edit. I looked over all the words in this video. They all fall under this rule.

oh, I understand, you mean the kolbasa in the picture. Honestly, I have no idea myself. We usually eat the more ordinary kolbasa, the one that’s just a big sausage.
