The power brick not being in the box is crazy to me, even though I have tons of them in my house i still think you should have a charger brick in the box, because what if someone gets their first phone and they don't have any charger bricks, or if there upgrading from a faster charging phone than their last then they would spend more money and btw the iphone 14 pro's look real nice this year but I think I'll stick with my Pixel 6

With the leather case, for a lack of a better word, it will get leatherer as you use it, due to the patina. Itll also get grippier and look overall better
The leather cases get grippier over time! Love my leather case on 13 pro max. They hold up pretty well.

I’m still on the iPhone 7 Plus. I think this is the year I’ll finally upgrade. I’ve been waiting for USB C, but at this point I feel like I have to upgrade since Apple isn’t updating it anymore. Now I need to decide on which pro size haha great video David! This should help me decide on what size to get
I suggest trying the 14 Pro Max. I use the 13 Pro Max, and the bigger size really helps in reading articles, typing is easer, news articles bigger, shows more texts, watching videos & movies far better. Bigger screen = more immersive experience.
iPhone 7 Plus is still a decent phone but you definitely need to upgrade. Im sure your battery doesn’t last too long these days. And like you said you can’t even get the newest OS. Believe me it’s worth the money to upgrade to a new iPhone. I had the iPhone 8 Plus since it came out and I upgraded to a green iPhone 13 Pro Max a few months ago. It was a massive upgrade for me and im loving the 13 Pro Max so far. Screen is bigger and nicer quality, phone is faster, more storage, better cameras, and my favorite new feature, the battery life. Battery life on these new iPhones is fantastic. Battery easily lasts me 1-2 days. And I use my phone for hours each day. My iPhone 8 Plus battery degraded and it would only last half a day. Definitely worth it to upgrade! At least get a 12 but I recommend a 13 Pro Max because it has the same chip as the 14 and you can get it for a cheaper price now.
Nice! I may not get the 14 this year, I have the 13 Pro Max, which isn't all that different & keeps me happy, especially with iOS 16 update. I may wait for the 15 Pro Max.
For all the people who were complaining about the Dynamic Island and how it's distracting. It's about as distracting as the notch... that is to say, it isn't. You stop noticing it after a few minutes. Unless you have some bright content that spans the whole screen of course, but otherwise it's a non-issue.
You just need to yank the case by the tab by the way. There's a little cardboard slat it goes in to at the bottom that keeps it in place. No need to destroy it! Also the leather softens over time. I've been using their leather cases since the iPhone 6, they're very nice to use.

Give the leather case some time! I’ve been using apple leather cases on the last 3 iPhones I’ve had and as you have it and it breaks in and the leather patinas a bit, it becomes more worked in and feels more grippy and just overall improved. Give it a solid month or so of use.
100%. I used one for almost 3 years and the grip and patina are the best things. And it also holds pretty well with falls.
@@MrMepty It is surprising protective with falls. Plus if it get scuffed up, it eventually smooths over and adds to the character of leather.

Apple did a good job on the pro max but why do they go back and forth on the battery life?

check out baja leather cases if you don't like that one. They have been in the iphone game for over 10 years but don't advertise their company. around the same price as the Apple one but much higher quality in my opinion.
I think the color of the phone does not matter too much, but I was never a fan of the all clear cases. I bought the sgp ultra hybrid in green for my silver 14 pro this year. wish case companies would make solid color hardshell cases again like the incase slider back in the day

Once you put the case on the phone nobody knows wether it’s Purple, Black, Silver or Gold as you did say in your vlog, I chose the Deep Purple one and it’s stunning. In the UK the sim tray is still in use on the pro max and I vs not understand why, we should have gone esim as well.
When I was setting mine up it prompted me if I wanted to set up the eSIM on the new phone while it was bringing everything over from my 11 Pro which still had the SIM in at the time.
Skipping the 14 this year. And skipping it the next year and maybe the year after that. I'm gonna wait until my current iPhone blows up in my hand

Wait I'm confused on how you came to thinking you are getting the phone for half off? Don't you have to factor in the $1,099 spent on the 13 pro minus a $600 trade in for it which means you spent $499 on the 13 pro and $1200 on the 14 pro max? So between the two phones you spent $1699 with the trade in vs $2299 w/o a trade in...which yields a 30% discount. I just don't want you to fall into their smoke and mirrors trap of thinking you are getting the phone for half off! Or another way to say it is you had to spend $1,099 to get a $600 discount on $1,200.
Let's use next year as an example. Assume the prices stay the same and apple will most likely give you $720 for trading in the 14 pro max. So you spent $1200 on the 14 pro max (remember the $600 discount you got bought down your charge of $1099 for the 13) and now you trade in the 14 pro for $720 off...means you spent $480 on the 14 and now you buy the 15 pro max for $1200, essentially means you spent $1680 on two phones vs $2400 which is like a 35% discount.
Good thing you went with the black leather case instead of the saddle brown one, because for as much as I love saddle brown's color, it ages like absolute ass.

it looks exactly like previous versions of Iphone. There is no innovation with Apple anymore. Samsung has taken a huge lead in that area.
Changing the case every year isn't innovation. Also you can't reinvent the wheel every year. This is a solid upgrade in every respect and an even bigger one if you're coming from something older than the 13. They don't expect everyone to upgrade every year, it's more of a 2-4 year cycle at this point. This is also the refine year. They tend to do something big then the next years model is a refinement of it, only they stopped using the S moniker to show that.
