- Safety and security is very important. As a black man who has been living in China for a couple of years, I've had lots of experiences, just like any other foreigner can have worldwide, whether you're in America, Europe, Africa or the rest of Asia, i'm sure your priority is your security first then everything comes after that.
I made this video in Shenzhen, China to show a 24 hour experience of being not just a black man but a foreigner living in China.
My aim of making this video is just to share my personal experience and make sure everyone understands the reality on ground. No country is perfect, but at least when you are comfortable and happy with your stay anywhere, it definitely feels good.

Brother, I'm black American, work in East Asia, and visited Chongqing, Shenzhen, and HK over the last decade. No worries about getting a gun pointed at my head while trying to get a midnight snack at 2 AM from the convenience store, no random gunshots going off in their low-income areas, no risk of catching hepatitis while using public facilities, and public transit that's efficient enough to never be dependent on a car. China's not perfect, but I would work there in a heartbeat if someone offered me a job there over almost anywhere in the USA. If the USA doesn't fix its broken system (we never will, too decentralized, too much bureaucracy & corporate power) we're going to have a second Sputnik Crisis in the next ten years.
U know your country well.

According to FBI statistics (2015), a person is kidnapped within US territory every 75 minutes. Aggravated assault every 28 minutes. Theft, every 40 seconds. Sexual violation, every 45 minutes. And every two hours, someone is killed by gunshot, knife, or blunt weapon. (Deaths in car accidents are not included in the FBI statistics.) On the other hand, in China, with a population almost five times larger than the US, the statistics for kidnapping, robbery, rape or murders do NOT account for even one tenth of the crimes that occur each year only in California. Mr. Michael Moore: "The best country in the world" now has 60 million people living below the poverty line. I am concerned about the 20 million addicts, homeless and the millions of sentenced prisoners. We have the highest incarceration rate in the world. More than Nicaragua, Cuba, Korea, and China combined. Our rate is almost 5 times the OECD average. I am concerned that "The best country in the world" is in 32th place with respect to the number of medics (doctors) on the planet. I am concerned that we do not distinguish between private wealth (1.7%), and public misery (almost 35%)...". Even so, it is still believed that the US is the example to follow as a nation. So... Is the United States Safer and Freer than China? Good question. In fact, it is a very interesting question, considering that the US Gov't is a "Repressive State". Neither in China, nor in Korea, nor in Cuba, the Police Officers are armed. In US, a Police Officer has on his waist, a military caliber pistol, 50 rounds of ammunition, Taser, Gas, Baton and Handcuffs. Here, at home, in the US, the Police kill. So the question is: Here, at home, in the US, are we Free and Safe? NO!!!

It genuinely doesn't matter where you came from for most countries IF you learn to speak their language or at least try even if you only know little, it instantly makes anyone many times more likeable, something most English speakers probably underestimate due to speaking only one language and the fact that it's the international language.
You’re right! I believe that learning a new language is always a plus. 😊
How to make friends and influence people. Dale Carnegie.
People like people who are like you, by speaking the language you become like them and are thus accepted and liked.
Nothing to do with color, religion just two human beings.
I lived in China for four years. There were looks, but not really a problem...until COVID, but for the most part I did not have the level of fear I have walking down a city street in the US.
Any foreigner who is opened-minded enough to travel to China and speak some of the language is likely to be cultured.
No reason why anyone would be rude.
Facts!💯
But in America there are many rude black people who like making troubles
I was on holiday in Shanghai and I saw a British guy in a business suit call a Chinese lady stupid because he thought the price she asked for was too high for something he wanted to buy. She replied "You are stupid" which was surprising because I have never before seen a Chinese sales lady being rude.
@@Nat_Ryder is every British gentleman? Don’t be silly
@@Nat_Ryder It's hardly rude if she's responding to someone else's rudeness to begin with. In my experience living as a British born Chinese person, White people can be very racist. It comes across in body language and snide derogatory remarks that are rarely outwardly racist. The English say nasty things about Scottish, Irish, and Welsh people as well, hiding it under the cover of "humour". The sales lady probably has to deal with that crap all the time, good on her for not putting up with that shit. We don't deserve it.
The answer is yes, China is safe and foreigners here are stars, people in General are extremely respectful
NO!!!

The curiosity of the Chinese people is very strong, which is also one of the reasons why they can learn and develop rapidly.
Definitely one of the most safest country. Very clean and no gun violence, no homelessness and drug addicts like many cities in America.
2 million homeless by China stats. Big drug problems in China.
Knife violence though. Does the particular type of tool that kills make a difference?

I'd like to ask you a question, what do you think about the racist treatment of the Oriental population in the USA in recent times due to the aggressiveness of American policy and the fact that Americans blame Orientals for all the American deaths due to Covid, I'd like to know your opinion, there are not only African Americans targeted in the USA, but also Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, but racism against Orientals is less newsworthy! In the USA, Orientals are targeted, beaten up even by African-Americans, but no one says anything, NYC, Chicago, LA, San Francisco etc. the assaults are no longer counted but do not make the news.
The moral system is collapsing. It as a country has no abilities to love, even to tolerate the differences. They blame the others for their own fault. That is all.
Bro, the smart blacks could TALK PERIOD!!! In the companies that i work for, the VP of diversity is always a black person. We're talking about CPA firms like PwC, Deloitte. There ain't black accountants but the VP of diversity is always black. The Cucasians are so afraid of blacks PERIOD!!! Chinese, they don't talk back, they don't bring up the race issues when a conflict arises. BOTTOMLINE, WE NEED ASIAN PEOPLE TO TALK LIKE BLACKS.
The truth is that the world might never be perfect because there’s billions of people raised in different ways with different cultures and different experiences. I don’t think the actions of a set of people in a race should define the whole race. It’s sad that everyone can’t live together in harmony but what I can tell you is this, with these videos that we make and comments like yours, we can all work together to try to make the world a better place. At the end of the day, no one will be here forever, so why the hate? I hope the world heals. 💙🕊️
I agree with what you say, but the way Easterners are treated by the country that claims, arrogantly at this point, to defend the rights of freedom and democracy as the USA does, leaves a bitter taste in the mouth! Chinese people has long been discriminated against by people of the west for almost two centuries. Through the suffering and agony of racial injustice, we understood and felt the pain of racism. So whenever and wherever we can, we like to see and treat others as equal. The phrase “ 天下為公“ , a famous slogan by Dr. Sun Yet Sun, meaning the world is for everyone, reflects the Chinese philosophy of how others should be treated.
That’s an interesting philosophy and a powerful one too. I think many parts of the world can definitely learn from this. ✊🏾
