I absolutely love that this piece has the trombone part doing a lot of movement, presenting a nice, yet not too demanding, challenge for the player, and giving them a lot if opportunities to implement expression. There are so many solo works for trombone that have the pianist do much of the technically impressive playing which has always frustrated me since these pieces are supposed to be for solo trombone with piano, not solo piano with trombone like they turn out to be. Sulek's Sonata Vox Gabrielli and the Hindemith's Sonata are just two examples where the piano part is arguably more challenging than the trombone part on a technical level. What makes the Sulek challenging is the rhythms and keeping touch with the piano part, so that's what makes that challenging, but I still like seeing the trombone be presented more than the piano in a "trombone solo piece".
So so good. Glad to see you putting out content on here! And of course, killing it as always.
This is soo good!! I absolutely loved the panning trombone section👏👏
