I love your approach to villains… to me it screams journal or insert Disney family photos or both now…you’re nearly at the most original scrapbook ever. So cool! Your pages are lovely.
I love Albrech Durer pencils, I have been using them for a about a year. After lots of trial and error I found the way that works best for me is using a light coverage as a base coat then use a colourless blender pen, any brand, instead of water. The blender pen dries quickly and allows me to use more layers for deeper colours if needed. I then colour again using the pencils dry to add shadows. Hope this makes sense. Don’t give up, keep practicing, you’ll get the hang of it. Thanks for sharing your fantastic pages. Your videos are always so fun to watch. 🌻
This is fantastic advice my friend! Maybe this will be the key that cracks the code? Because I LOVE Faber Castell, Polys are my fav pencils, I love saturated colors and water mediums...I should love these pencils, right?? They just seem to be allergic to water LOL. I am going to try a colorless blender. Not alcohol, right?
I have no idea why you showed up on my feed, but I am so glad I found you. I just love your Mythogoria pages. The use of the reds and gold/ochre and brown is amazing. You’re really inspiring. And much as Alien Worlds is my least favourite Kerby book, your work there is very inspiring.and your alcohol marker skills are jaw-dropping. I am looking forward to going through more of your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Well hello Jennifer!!! Fantastic meeting you!! So glad the algorithm made it happen! Mythagorias are not for everyone. And I"m not even a fan of gore! But these books give us such different images to color..and open to so many color palettes! Anything goes! Even ochre murder squirrels!! I am thrilled to meet you and look forward to seeing what you do! Let me know how I can see them!
Gorgeous pages sweetheart. I always look forward to seeing what you have worked on for the month 😊I adore you and your work and you never fail to make me smile. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful pages sweetheart. Sending love and hugs xxx❤❤❤
Amazing pages, Candice!!! I always enjoy your videos! Looking forward to your backlog! Love your spider lady. All of the things that you were trying to accomplish have come through wonderfully!! Continued happy coloring to you my wonderful friend 😊
I have had the worst day today, I was so grateful to have a video from you to watch, I needed to repair my soul and listening to your soothing voice was exactly what I needed! Your pages were gorgous as always! ❤
My dear friend - I am so grateful i could be there for you today. You are such a beautiful soul. The world and this community is so fortunate you are in it! Your beauty comes through in your colorings and I am so glad we met. When the world gets tough, it's time to take a break. Breathe...look at beauty...check in with the present moment to see what it is you want and need. And color!! It's the best therapy! Love you lots
I love your work and your approach, thank you for sharing❤️ Your spider lady is fantastic, and I don’t even like to see spiders! Gorgeous reds and you get the ⭐️ for washi! I loved your yellowish squirrels, too. We have two all-black squirrels living in our yard, so there’s another color choice for you in future ❤❤❤ May you be safe from all danger, healthy and happy and at peace
YOU HAVE BLACK SQUIRRELS?????? I did not even know those existed!!! What part of the world is this?? I must see a picture of a black squirrel! If you can, please DM me a picture of your goth squirrels!! Thank you so much for your kind words. (And I don't like spiders either. Coloring them is a kind of therapy to try and get more comfortable with them. So far, it's not working lol)
@@HappyCatastrophy I believe they’re a melanized variation of the gray squirrels we have here in the SF Bay Area. I first saw one hanging around with the gray squirrels about three years ago. Now there are two. They’re marvelous. I’ll see if I have a picture to send!
You do? Great! I know it's silly but I just didn't like opening it up and seeing my alcohol ink bleed throughs. It might become too thick and unable to close but it might not! And now after this little chat I want to color in that book tonight LOL
Its not silly and opening a book that makes you smile to feel proud of is the best feeling ever. Don’t like the ugly side of the bleed thru too unless its done with such good skill that both sides look equally nice. Love your idea and would do the same if i were not lazy 😄 Since the book will get too thick to close, consider to slice the spine now. Makes it easier and more enjoyable to glue in the pretty paper and colour. When the book is completed then add the finishing touches with a ring bind.
Great pages Candice. Stick with the Albrecht Durer - it could either be too much pencil or unsuitable paper….but you will get more comfortable as you use them.
Thank you so much Jackie! You are right...I'm thinking I'm trying to hard and pushing to hard. I need to slow down, lighten up and get back to layering. I feel like if I crack the code on it they could be my favorite pencils. You give me hope!
Please do! www.lireka.com Free shipping to the US! It's a little tough if you don't speak French but once you find the book you are looking for, it recommends lots more. Use search words like "coloriages" - that's coloring books. "Hatchette Heroes" and "Art Therapie" should bring up these coloring books. Beware! Your wallet may cry! There's a ton of great books on there!
Hi Candice! Gorgeous pages! Chellie Carrol also illustrated the Dracula adult coloring book that you have! I have it too and I happened to look at the artist the other day and it’s her! We should do a buddy color out of vengeful forest! Let me know!
SHE DID??? OMG...i'm so dumb! Can't believe I didn't catch that. I love that book! Are you on Insta? DM me anytime for a buddy....I can do one in March if you want!
@@HappyCatastrophy yes I am on instagram! I followed you last week! I can do one this month! Let me know what book and page! And yes she did lol 😂 it took me a while to figure it out too lol
Hello Candice Lovely pages. Do you use your Distress Crayons/pencils directly onto your page or do you activate the pigment on a palette. Love your channel 🌺
I have GOT to get my butt off the couch and film a video on how I use them...geesh! I am so lazy! LOL No I never use them direct to paper. For coloring books, that just doesn't work very well. It puts down too much pigment, unevenly, and then requires too much water to thin out and spread around. I do everything off the paper. One way is to rub the pencils on a cutting board or acrylic..something rough is a little better...and then use a water brush or my preference is a wet watercolor brush to add water little by little to the rubbing (not much!) and apply the pigment then to the paper with the brush. I find this method creates very soft colors. I prefer more saturated and bold, so I dip the pencil tip in water, hold it over a palette or the plastic front of the case with is detachable just for this reason, and brush the wet tip with a damp paintbrush. Saturated, thick pigment will be on the brush and then the water will also drip off the tip of the pencil bringing pigment on to the palette. I use the pigment on the brush for really opaque coloring and the color on the palette for lighter coloring, or mixing with other pencils...just like watercolor paints. That is by far my favorite way to use them in coloring books. You can also shave them or sharpen them then use the shavings on a palette with water to mix into a paint like consistency but that's too much work for me lol. And any pigment that dries on the palette can be rewet and used...just like watercolor paint. I hope this helps! And I will make that video. HUGS
Hello! I use Kamar Varnish, made by Krylon. Easy to find on Amazon. It leaves a little shine. There are also clear fixatives in the Kamar line actually made to fix artwork. I bought this one because I saw it on another channel years ago. It's smelly but spray in the laundry room or outside or garage or something, then leave the book open for 24 hours and it pretty much goes away. I really like the Varnish so I've stayed with it. It's not a workable fixative tho. If you want to use something like eyeshadow or pan pastels during the coloring process, you will need a workable fixative that you can spray, let dry, then continue coloring. I would search "workable fixative" on Amazon. The Kamar Varnish is for the very end. I've also never had yellowing...I think the Kamar helps with that too.
I love your approach to villains… to me it screams journal or insert Disney family photos or both now…you’re nearly at the most original scrapbook ever. So cool! Your pages are lovely.

Hey sweets, did you message me and I missed it?
Have you tried a colorless marker blender instead of water for activating your A-Ds? I get much more control over the result.
I have been wanting to try that! I hear the Tombow one is good. What do you recommend?
@@HappyCatastrophy I have a few Tombow blenders and some generic alcohol marker blenders, and both types work for me.
