I bought it and sure it has great portability and other features but they missed the most important thing for a keyboard- playability. It’s like trying to play a keyboard with the bubbles keys from a 1970s microwave. I returned it after a few hours of frustration and I’m glad I still have my nanoKey2 as a portable keyboard.
Lol so accurate. The bubbles do suck. I mostly got it because I need something SUPER TINY with chord mode to pair up with my Ableton Move. The bubble key bed on this thing was a terrible oversight, you have to press so hard it’s unnatural. I love my old nanokey2 keybed, you barely have to press and you’re good. I’ll still use this for the chords and arpeggio but it’s definitely not replacing my old nanokey the way I thought it was going to.
Hi, does it lock flat, or does it need to rest on hard surface? If it folds up on you, when using it on the go, on your lap, on the sofa, for example, then it makes it pretty much useless as a on the go keyboard. 🧡
@@EmlynInTheMix Ahh, that's a shame. They really really should have put a sliding lock on. It's not exactly play on the go if you need to carry a table with you 😁
@@JayaLove So just laying on my bed, on the sofa, in the park, on a car journey, I'd have to carry something thick enough wide enough and strong enough to rest it on. Something like a non-folding small midi controller 😁 See what I mean ?
How to change the midi channel? Is it restricted to being part of a scene change? That’s the thing that bugged me about nanokey studio and the og nano key.
Considering portability, it would be great if all the settings, especially MIDI out channel was accessible right from the unit. I know you can setup scene presets with the editor, but would be cool to change channel itself in a scene without having to plug-it in to the editor.
The reason it doesn't have batteries and bluetooth is that they don't want it to cannibalize Nanokey Studio. Maybe they're working on a new version of that.
What? It's totally reasonably priced, barely over 100 dollars! Lots of cool engineering and miniaturization. Nano Keys studio is also amazingly priced around 130.
What a bad and too long review with a lot of bad noice….. it doesn’t even sound like music! This little keyboard does so much more than you show in 22 minutes.

Yea not really for playing in the lap, needs to be on a flat surface. If you were on an airplane you could have it on the food tray lol.

To be fair it’s so think I think locking and playing in your lap might break it from the pressure. I’d just use a book or lap desk.

@ I had similar thoughts but really I think it just needs a small book. Otherwise put it in a table. I guess everyone’s use case is different.
Imagine if this had the keys from Arturia Microfreak.

Do you know what the chords are in chord mode please?
YOU FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT! HOW TO CHANGE THE midi cANAL,,,????

This annoys me to no end.
Can u plug straight into a iphone or iPad to use , or need camera adapter?
This could be ideal for an open mic using phone as sound source perhaps? Do you think it is rugged enough to last?
Good idea.
It’s not super rugged. Like feels like it would definitely break if you were rough with it.

I plug it right into my iphone and ipad with a USBC to USBC cable

I think Korg should add an additonal bluetooth and use a button-type battery (CR2032) similar to Wavy Monkey keyboard (bluetooth only controller).
Next Korg will release the… “NanoBTpowerUSBCdongle” for $99.99
They messed up - no wireless Bluetooth ?!?
Yeah, so weird....it would have an instant buy for me.
latency doesn’t ring a bell?
@@naffls the nanokey studio works fine in my opinion, via bluetooth and an ipad.
Well without battery wireless bluetooth makes no sense
@@nafflsthere’s no latency with midi over BT.
It’s really cool and portable.fore sure
$119
Interesting, does it have a sim card? Can i call you? 🤔
Haha, please give me a call!
If this is what they're offering, why not just use your computer keyboard?
Would have been great if had Bluetooth...what a big miss on their part. Plus, over-priced.
Yea kinda agree, MIDI over Bluetooth is not that great tbh. But yea would’ve been a cool addition nontheless.
