Love your videos. I have a house built in 1969 that has a fairly small crawl space. The house is at the bottom of a hill and when it rains, there is literally a small stream of water about an inch wide that starts pouring in under the back corner of the house. It’s like a natural spring that appears when the groundwater gets high. Thanks to your videos, I installed a Zoeller 1/2 hp sump pump myself directly on top of this spot and discharged the water into a nearby ditch and solved our crawl space flooding issue.
Chuck.. I live ...next to the river...just b/4 makes contact with the Bay...& in winter time, I sleep on water....& breeth.. that humidity as I sleep. Yes it's a crawling space. I have a little pump I will connect it.... but it's better than nothing. Estimates for the job , come n go....but contractors dont like the Job. In the interim I watch your Videos....& will eventually do it. Maybe hiring someone for the digging.... my spine it's bad & spend a couple of wks doing it. Thnk's very much my friend & wish your business growth's everyday. Keep it up..!
Man, I’ve been there, I feel your pain. Digging in muddy water, bent over and crouching in a creepy crawl space installing a makeshift sump pit... it absolutely blows!!!
Have you ever looked at Tsurumi pumps? Their 1/2 hp HS series are really great for pumping out basements and crawl spaces quickly so you can get in there to work. The Zoeller's are better suited for the sump, but the HS is good to keep on the truck as a portable unit.
I’ve got a flooded crawl space and I’m going to install a sump pump, the previous owner put in a utility pump as a cheap fix but it’s not doing the job! My question is drainage, how far from the house should it drain?
That looked dangerous where that one cement block had sunken down and separated from the others above. Was that supporting floor joists? Looks like the floor could've fallen in there any time.
Great video! Valueablestuff! What if the crawlspace isnt level, and you have several big pockets of water? Digging a pit won’t help the other pockets off water
It actually will.ground water sink to its lowest level. Pick your best spot, dig down a couple feet, install your pit. The bottom of this pit becomes the new lowest spot as water will seep out of the surrounding dirt into it, then be removed.

Jeffrey Lebowski 😂it also Sucks!
You need to wrap around that bucket with lanscaping screen as a mud filter to stop the pump from clogged up
Chuck is the man

Best out to the street!! But as far as you can 👍
How do we get rid Of poo in the basement? Will the pump also take that out? And what kind of pump is that that your using?
Oh Man! Use a 17” deep jackel perforated basin. That thing was 3ft deep in the mud!
Do you put a layer of gravel in the bottom of the sump well?
Love this video Chuck! 💪❤️🍻

How much did you charge for that job or one similar?
All your videos are GREAT. BTW, was that a GFCI outlet under the house?

Perfect video thanks!
What kind of pump machine is that?
You have an open vent hole in the wall. Why not cut a hole in the vent? What is the advantage of drilling through the brick wall?
Much more secure.. Esthetically pleasing.. Helps ensure less pump movement and vibration..
Thanks for the comment!
Does the sump put need to be covered by fabric besides gravel so the mud doesnt clog the pump?
If you have that type of mud, it would be a good Idea to actually dilute with water to thin it out.
Why not use a pump with out a float switch rather than sit in all the muck while holding the float up .
Great Video. Im a big fan of escutcheons hiding asymmetrical discharge holes, though.
I think something is alive in my flooded basement. I was moving stuff around with my rake and something splashed.
bjorn joseph possible largemouth bass!
my entire crawl space is full of water, about 3-4 feet deep, and it turned to ice
hbeezey damn go ice skating in there 😂
