I never find guns or weapons in new dayz, just infection from bandages which is horrible
@termiusprime go to a low populated server and you'll always find great loot, then switch back to a popular one once you looted up

Not really, as DayZ aims to be realistic. You take a 7.62x39 round to your bare chest IRL and you're past tense.

I remember once me and my friend (both having a BK-18) got into a fire fight with another duo who also had a BK-18 each. It was the funniest firefight I have ever been in playing dayz, some true 1800s shit.

The only Problem i have with it is that i NEVER find ammo for it early. I either find ammo or the gun. Never together
This gun is a prime example on how the feels good guns give a unconscious confidence boost that makes the players perform better
Absolutely this, one of my proudest moments was being able to take on two guys who aimed their gun at me with nothing but a Mosin and two rounds, F'd up the first guy bad enough that he went down and ruined his revolver, so once his buddy was dropped and I went up to the first to finish him off all I heard was *click* *click* from his ruined gun.

If they have no armour then its definitely knocking you. It might knock with a stab vest but im not sure tbh.

A couple of updates ago they changed the values of the firearms and ammo types. Making the 7,62x39mm a quite potent round a'dadded with the length of the BK18, this weapon makes a very lethal adversary in the hands of a capable player. Also it's an excellent low tier hunting rifle for hunting game.
If you can hit with your aiming at it doesn't really matter what you're using. One of my favorite quotes
It’s the worst when you have better but as a freshie it could be the difference between life or death, gear or no gear. Someone with a BK-18 can go from nothing to being fully geared if they get lucky enough.

The longer i play, the more i think the USG is the worst gun in DayZ.
On the plus side it can take a lot of scopes and have a pistol suppressor.
On the negative side, it requires a unique magazine.
It takes ammo that is mostly found in the deeper parts of the map.
It takes a hell of a lot of shots to kill a player unless you are accurate, which is hard to be as it sprays everywhere.
And last but not least, when you find the best scope for it, you are more than likely have found better guns to put them on.
At least a BK18 is simple, and teaches a new player patience before taking a shot.
Couldnt agree more. On top of everything else you said, the USG can be hard to find sometimes as well. Why do i want a gun thats half as good as a baby ak and twice as hard to find? Bk-18 at lwast has the courtesy of being common, and shooting a large enough round that if it doesnt kill will most likely uncon

Bk-18 is a nightmare for the full loots because if you just wait the moment 1 shot to the head you can knocked or kill them

This and the BK pump action are my go to reliable weapons. This to conserve ammo, and the shotgun to blow people apart. They just feel powerful.
I think it’s pretty decent as a rifle but the worst overall gun because at range it functions pretty dang good but at CQC it really lacks
The Derringer, the BK18, and the Blaze are probably my top 3 guns. "Sit" from up close, "sit" from over there, and "sit" from another zip code 😂.

I have good memories using this thing, mostly hunting pigs and deer occasionally some chicken, this is the gun that carried me all the way to Northwest airfield for my first time ever, not really good against other players but it’s an extremely respectable early game weapon

Back when I played Day Z I only once found a gun and it’s compatible ammo and died immediately to zombies.

This gun actually got me on a search to find a single shot rifle that fires 7.62x39. However, it’s cheaper to buy a neutered AKM or an SKS then some single shot rifle that fires one round.

It's a rewarding shooter. Remember nailing a headshot at Severograd camp against a fully geared guy. I also enjoyed his M4 for the next 45 minutes before I got wolves. I've also been domed by a BK18 at Svet whilst building a base so I know they were happy with their shot
It would be cool if it could take pistol scope like the longhorn, the dovetail rail looks like it would, it would give it more use

Baikal made these in a a good amount of different calibres in Canada they were popular in 308 and 223 for hunting it is a reliable and accurate system, you can also add a scope to it for maximum accuracy
This gun is basically your starter weapon at max level
