    is there a video about background mpls lab ? thank you

      It's been a while since I have used this lab, so I don't think I have an exact video using this topology, although a couple of years ago when I was live streaming I built some basic topologies to illustrate the creation of an ISP network and MPLS forms a part of it. This should be covered by some of the earlier videos in this playlist:

    Hi great video followed this to the letter. We are setting up a small wisp with a Ubnt Rocket 2 as the PTMP radio which is connect to the Hex 2 router board. I have managed to get the hAP series router connected via PPPoe as per this video however I cant get it to reach the internet. Do you have an email where I can forward you a drawing?

    Hi. I have configured Mikrotik and created PPPOE dialup connections. The issue is when we go for to connect VPN (NordVPN), it disconnects the Dialup Connection. The same issue for any third party VPN.
    Can you please guide what to do?

    My isp requires a vlan to be set before it will let you login pppoe

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  2 года назад +2

      Should be able to just create a software defined VLAN under your interface then create a PPPOE-client and use the VLAN as the interface for the connection. Just find out from your ISP what the VLAN ID is and use that when creating the VLAN.
      ie: /interface vlan add name=WAN vlan-id=123 (VLAN ID from ISP) interface=ether1 (cable patched into ONT/Modem)

    Thanks for the info sir. .how bout if the setup is thru wireless sir,like simple point to multipoint setup. How can I access pppoe clients' connected sub router sir? Thanks

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  3 года назад +1

      Hi Michael,
      Is there any specific reason you need to access the client routers? Are they managed by you? If yes, I suppose you could connect to them over the PPPoE IP that is assigned from the server. Alternatively you could create VPN/L2TP tunnels to the clients for management purposes.

    Please, how to do this with IPv6? I can't guarentee my clients internet connection without IPv6.

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  3 года назад

      I would first have to see if that is possible and lab it myself, I would potentially suggest checking on forum.mikrotik.com for similar questions. I do have a video giving an IPv6 crash course on MikroTik, though this does not cover setting up a PPPoE server with IPv6 in mind, I suppose it's just a matter of creating an IP pool within the IPv6 scope and then having the IPv6 address be sent to clients. ruclips.net/video/X7C3pX2jKNY/видео.html

      It's a network emulator called EVE-NG, You need to configure this on a VM. Here is a playlist a created to set this up for free using VMWARE Workstation Player

    Great video again!
    Do you know if you can add addresses from an ipv4 pool and at the same time an ipv6 pool? Thanks!

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  3 года назад +2

      Hmmmmmm not something I have tried doing before, my suspicions are that it would be incompatible. You should have a massive range of private IPs you can use for your PPPoE on IPv4 though, if you want to use IPv6 I would imagine that your addressing will have to change to the new version on your PPPoE server, or run a different server on a different interface specifically for IPv6. Will see if i can set this up in a lab and let you know what happens :)

      @@TheNetworkBerg Thanks. Currious.. because.. if you want to be an ISP. You want to offer your clients also the ipv6 connectivity :)

    Sir if we are running PPPoE server on the core router and we also have several other routers like one for each sector then how will the PPPoE pass through these routers to the clients?

    • @zakariafarah1101
      @zakariafarah1101 2 года назад

      Not sure if you got the answer you were looking for. But as he said on the video PPPoE is a L2 protocol. If you are introducing routers in the mix which means your network is getting bigger, then you would be advised to use routing protocols with external authentication servers.

    why you does not write anything in MTU in ppp server ? i think its very important

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  3 года назад

      Why do you think MTU in setting up a PPP server is very important and is required for the MTCNA?

    • @iahmedelbarbary
      @iahmedelbarbary 3 года назад

      @@TheNetworkBerg Because not all routers auto set 1480 MTU as mikrotik default, there are routers use auto 1350 or 1420 MTU, is that way the packets will be fragmented we don't need this scenario, only we need to prevent packets from fragmentation, that what i think, am i right ??

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  3 года назад

      @@iahmedelbarbary Hi Ahmed, this is a tutorial for MikroTik from the perspective of getting your MTCNA, this does not factor in different vendors and what their MTU values may be.
      But I can agree if there is an MTU mismatch it will cause fragmentation :)
