New video 😁 I have just received my Carpro DLUX from WAXIT based on your last video where you used DLUX to coat the external plastic trims and rubber. If I had any left over from that I will do the wheels too. I also love the smell of Bowden's Own Flash Prep. But... The economics don't scale well for that when compared to the equivalent NV and Mirch Prep sprays. - Bowden's Own Flash Prep 5L $184.99 - Mirch Erase 5L $119.95 - NV Clarity 4L $62.95 - Gyeon Q2M Prep 4L $99.99 - Gtechniq PW 5L $165.00 - P&S Paint Coating Surface Prep 3.8L $73.95 - Ethos Detox Prep Spray 3.8L $139.95 - Carpro Eraser 4L $81.95 My next bulk Prep Spray purchase is NV Clarity. I'll need it too as I have a few big jobs coming up. Thank you again for the excellent video. 😁👍
You'll definitely have enough left over for your wheels and probably for 2x coats at that. Yeah I think you're right about the prep sprays I have used NV before but never looked at for price in bulk to compare. I mostly use carpro eraser but might have to get more NV
@@EvolvedDetails Sweet! 2 coats? That would be nice, (Even if it is one coat). Just added Carpro Eraser, (4L $81.95) to the price list. It comes third in price for 4-5L bulk purchase. Thanks again for the effort you put into the videos. I know what it takes and I appreciate what you make for us to watch. Cheers. 😁👍
Those are some damn nice wheels! Funny, I was just testing a wheel coating the other night on some matte bronze Lotus wheels. How does Dlux go with matte/satin finishes?
@@EvolvedDetailsis that with Dlux only or other wheel coatings? And how long after coating are the tires mounted and balanced after? Wondering if the curing time is a variable in terms of getting the wheel weights to stick or not.
Do you maintain the coating with Reload or anything? When it comes time to put the coating on again a year or 2 out what’s the process at that point? How do you ensure all of the old coating is off at that point prior to starting again?
I will generally use a spray on rinse off sealant to maintain every few washes eg carpro hydro2. After they stop beading water and seem to be no longer protecting I'd say just decon, clay and hand polish before reapplying (hand polish only if you want to but not 100% needed)
@@EvolvedDetailsHey there, im about to coat my summer tires (brand new ones, gloss black BMW 791M, my first time applying such protection on wheels) with Dlux, i wont be claying and polishing just a good decon as they maybe did 3km driving on the transporter ramp :) so i think it will be enough? Also dont own a nano polisher and hand polishing.. omg am i right? But i have a question about my matte winter wheels, in my understanding you can't (or shouldn't) polish matte wheels, so claying is a no-no too right? i really dont want to induce any marring as they are only after 2000 km and survived this winter (i have a bmw so a loooot of brake dust on them, though it's my weekend car so no salt, grime or mud as i dont drive in the rain, but brake dust is overwhelming on inner barrel especially), so also only good wash (gyeon bathe essence is what i have currently, wanted to go Reset but 2 shamps is to much) good decon with iron X and tar remover, and ipa wipedown and apply coating? Also what do you think is better, applying it now on winters or wait for winter and apply before installing them? i dont think the coating will degrade on the wheel wich is not used, but... Thanks for this vid btw :) Good job!
With new wheels straight out of the box. Is it safe to coat them first? I’m worried about when installing the tires and they balance the wheels and they install weights inside the barrel will the weights stick?
I've honestly never had an issue but lots of people say not to as the wheel weights won't stick. I've done so many sets of wheels both before and after tyres mounted and the only difference is its easier to coat before with no downside This is with young DLUX though so I can't confirm if some other coating has an issue
I actually just got a set of TE37 Saga S in Diamond dark gunmetal too haha Best colour ever I haven't filmed anything with them on this channel but on my Evo channel I did a video on them
Soo I coated my wheels about 3 days ago but my car is dirty as anything. Would it be ok to wash my car and avoid the wheels or should I just wait / take the wheels off the car?
Sorry didn't see this comment. I'd just wash the car and avoid getting anything other than soap on the wheels but even try to minimise that as much as you can
Where do you get those round, white applicator pads? They look like those cotton make-up remover pads that are sold at the drug store, but just want to be sure

I think I'm going to try and do mine as that does look easy
You definitely should
Just came across your channel and have just purchased new rims so will follow these steps as the finish looks great. Nice rims to.
Thanks mate, let me know how you go I think it's an easy process but just be very thorough when wiping down
Could you do a video showing the difference it makes when washing?
That's a great idea I might have to film the before part on my wheels before coating them
Great video! 🙌 Straight to the point and no BS. Thanks for the tutorial
Thanks mate much appreciated
Gorgeous wheels by the way!🔥
Yeah I love them, super nice finish too
i could swear REXH got that exact set of wheels for his chaser yesterday
I'm not sure you that is haha, but yeah they're a great wheel for sure

Yeah definitely a nice wheel. Ohh that sounds interesting 🤔
And yeah it does well in matte wheels
Should definitely get the wheels balanced before ceramic coating because the weights may come off. But otherwise great video
I hear people say this yet I haven't ever had that issue and been coating all my wheels before balancing for 7 years

Can I use CQuartz Lite as a topper after applying DLux? Or should I go for Gliss? Great video dude! Greets from Belgium!!!
I don't see why not but gliss would be better suited I would say
@@EvolvedDetails I have Lite laying around, that's the only reason 😏
Good helpful video right here 👍

No need for a respirator when working with this stuff?
Definitely a good idea to and I usually try to, you for sure want good air flow so I have a fan on and usually garage door open

They're by Gtechniq and can get them from detail shed
Wooo nice vid!
Thanks mate
When it comes time to re-coat the wheels do you have to compound to remove the old coating?
Good question, I don't compound them but it usually takes a few months before I get around to recoating so I just decon prep and coat
Giving a comment to the poor ;)
Haha much appreciated 😄
