Oh thank you, I have never heard of them. X
You had a pretty good 2022 - congrats on getting all of those done. I really like your plans for 2023. 💞
Thank you Izzy. Fingers crossed for 2023! X
Loved the video Clare. You have done brilliantly with last years makes. I started the Sorrento jacket in November after getting some cheap but heavy rigid denim from pound fabrics. The pattern is an enormous step up for me and was always about trying new techniques rather than the finished item. So far the only thing I have really struggled with is the continuous lapped sleeve opening. I left the jacket for weeks and finally used my own method. I have put the sleeves in this weekend and love the look of it. The fit sadly isn’t particularly good on me as it is very wide on the shoulders. I would certainly size down if I made it again. The construction is fabulous and I have been surprised how satisfying all that top stitching has been. I still have a way to go with this make but will be strangely sad when it’s finished. I have the coatigan pattern too so this may be my next make.
Wow that's amazing Sue, it's sounds like you have done a fantastic job. Top stitching is strangely satisfying. Do you think you can amended the shoulders? Or perhaps just some can do next time. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me it has made me more excited about trying it x
Hi Clare, a lovely vlog, I will be interested to see how your make 9 goes for this year. I made the bomber jacket from the sewing bee sustainable style book out of a boucle fabric, using ribbing for the cuffs, collar and waistband. It is so warm, and just right for spring and autumn.
Hi Helen that is such a good idea, I would never of thought of doing that. Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️
I am also a big Sagebrush Top Fan. I was very tempted to sew another one immediately after seeing your video, but I really need a solid top and one with not a ton of volume to it.
It is an awesome pattern. I am interested to see what you sew up instead Christine ❤️
I like your take on the make nine this year. I have gone for using fabrics from my stash, but I am also trying to use patterns from different pattern companies. I am currently working on my first plan which is the harper cardigan from Sinclair Patterns using a fabric from the think pink subscription box. I also need to sew a weekend bag I have simplicity 2274 and I think I have all of the fabric and notions but I might have a look at the ones you mentioned to see if I'm more inspired by them.
The Sorrento jacket looks great, I think that would be a great choice from that ebook.
Thank you Ann-Marie. I definitely think using fabrics is a great idea. I love the Sinclair Harper I have made it several times. Good luck with your make nine x
I too hope to try the Lyra this year
Oh excellent, I look forward to seeing yours too Christine ❤️
Really enjoyed this vlog, love your approach to Make nine this year!
Trouser wise you could try the pietra trousers from closet core, they have a tapered leg option, or even the Anna Allen polomo they also have a narrower leg option, still both elastic sits to break your self in 😊
You will love the Lyra too, the collar stand is actually so simple because her instructions are just fabulous xx
Thanks Bec! I will definitely take a look at those patterns. I hope you are having a great weekend. X
you did a great job on your make 9 last year! i've heard really good things about the Sorrento. i have the pattern but haven't sewn it yet.
Thank you Sara. Yes I think it is supposed to a good pattern and definitely the item I'm leaning to in that book. X
Haya. Great hearing your thoughts about your 2022 make 9's 😀Looking forward to seeing your make 9 makes 🤩Thanku 'sew' much for sharing 🪡✂🧵🙂x
Thanks Anna. Thanks for watching. I hope you are well? X

You did well in 2022! Love watching your videos. I’m doing make nine for the first time this year, not sure why I didn’t do it last year 🤔 The sagebrush top is on my list. I was thinking it looks quite short, but your two viscose ones look a lovely length. Do you add to the length at all? Thanks , Sarah x
Hi Sarah, thank you so much! I love the Sagebrush I actually find it quite long! Normally I have to add length and I haven't on this one. X
For the boucle, what about Chanel jacket. Take care and be well.
Thanks Patricia an excellent suggestion but I think I may have found a pattern now x
