Thanks for the memories. I grew up on Maplewood St. and spent my childhood days at Elmwood Park. I saw Richard Nixon speaking at Westgate Shopping Center in 1964, in the same crowd as your mother. Graduated from RRHS in 1965.
Hi, Robert! Sure thing! Many thanks for your fine comment! Ah! Maplewood Street! Our family was family friends with the Faulkners who lived at the corner of Maplewood and Wagar. Nice street! Straight shot to Elmwood Park! I played a lot of football in that big field and Little League and Pony League baseball games at the baseball fields. Don Kelly Field now! Richard Nixon at Westgate! Really something! To quote Barbara Streisand, "Memories, like the corners of my mind. Misty, water color memories! Of the way we were!" HA! Ah! A ' 65 Pirate! Very good! I was a ' 78 Pirate. My older brother Mark ' 71, Pam ' 72 except she died in ' 71 and Patricia ' 76. All the best, Robert!
Some of the best memories from my childhood up to mid teens were visiting my Aunt and Uncle who lived on Elmwood Drive. I remember 5 houses from the train tracks..lol I would always get together with my cousins the Healys when I came up. What a great area.
Hi, George! Oh, ok! Wonderful! Elmwood Drive and the railroad tracks! I had a Cleveland Press newspaper route in that area back in 1975. Good times with cousins! Beautiful! To quote Barbara Streisand, "Memories, light the corners of my mind. Misty, water color memories, of the way we were." All the very best, George!
Hi, Brent! Vaguely! The name sounds familiar! I wonder if we ever went there! I think it would have behooved us to do so! HA! Memories! All the best, Mr. Lesheim! Jai Guru!
Hi, Adrian! A thousand thanks for your kind words! I really appreciate it! You're right! The traffic sounds are problematic! HA! Maybe we will redo it with a microphone! All the best, good buddy!
