@@CommandT I fly FFB since Microsoft Sidewinder FF PRO, had several FF Precision2 and FF PRO2. Having HOTAS replicas is another spectrum of joy, so I had to create my FFB for it (Hornet and Warthog). It is only 1/3 of price of FFBeast (BOM). Someday I will share it, along with FFB pedals and "load-cell" cougar mod.

In some conventional joysticks, you can remove the springs to obtain this effect. That's what I do with my Winwing. It's not as good as FF I bet, but it's a huge improvement you can get for free.
Amazing video, as usual. You are selling it very well. I myself fly with an old Microsoft Force Feedback Pro 2, from 1998 or so, and it is such a nice asset to have. Force Feedback trimming feels so much better than "blind-dumb" trimming.
Started with a OG Logitech Wingman Force (The Big Bearclaw one), and continue to fly today with a Logitech G940 which is the only way I can fly DCS or any WW1/2 Sim so you can really feel what the plane or heli is doing. FFB Needs to make a huge resurgence because it really is so so much better to have feedback just like you do with a FFB Wheel for Racing Sims.
I fly with a VKB gladiator rn and learning to fly the mig-29 properly has a huge challenge. In fact I spent a long time just perfecting Landing it. I'm still not a pro in WVR. I feel like FFB would completely trivialize flying the fulcrum and just let me push it to new limits...if only I had the cash haha
Looks good but I've already ordered the Rhino FFB stick which has more compatibility with more stick manufacturer's without path through required. Great to see more manufacturers start making these FFB sticks and rudders. Can't wait to get my Rhino!

The cool thing with FFB though is you can set it up to behave and feel like an Airbus stick even without the forces created by airflow etc included, better than a non-FFB stick, especially when damping is concerned.
seeing autopilot was wild ah well, it'll probably be a few years before any major brands come out with force feedback I was about to get a VKB gunfighter ultimate to replace my x52

I understand that not everyone has a grand sitting in their pocket but the only thing I will say is that the experience is worth more like 5 grand, not 1 grand. Honestly, it's just a game changer. I would have also been quite sceptical had I not tried it first. So I totally understand anyone who is sitting on the sidelines and not convinced that the price is worth it. I would have been one of those people had I not had this channel.

How about S25t trimm does it work like in the Mig29?I find it hard work to trim in spring loaded joystick because when virtual joy is moving the physical doesn't, then creating that misaligned. You are trimmed but must hold physical stick when speed does change to hold altitude.

Unfortunately I don’t fly the Apache however there’s no doubt that it will be very easy to tune super well for the Apache. It’s fantastic for flying choppers!
The Mirage F1 in DCS comes with lots of FFB customization in the special settings menu, would be interested in how that feels as I'm obsessed with the module and I have VPForce Rhino order processing.
Hi Command! Thanks for the Video. I have a question. Did you try the Rhino FFB Base? I own one currently and i love the effects. I would love to know how the FFB effects compare with this base. The added strenth is quite compelling. Can you feel when breaking while taxiing with this base? In WWII war birds. Does the stick also go to the front when no ariflow is on the elevator? Can you feel engine rumble in piston planes? You mentioned sharing profiles for planes. Could you point me into the right direction as of where to get such profiles?
Sharing profiles - I meant in the future when more people have these. Atm you have to mess about with fine tuning it yourself and maybe ask on the forums if you’re not sure. I’ve never tried the Rhino so I cannot compare. And yes, there’s effects that make the stick shake whilst rolling on the ground, landing touch down jolt, engine idling vibration ect.

Not entirely. it depends on the axis and the aircraft. FBW planes don’t displace the stick while trimming so for them you can use curves as you would before. For non-FBW aircraft in the pitch axis - yes, a curve is no longer valid
No, if you fly an F-16 definitely don’t get this. It’s the only aircraft which has a completely different pressure stick set up. So I would suggest getting a pressure stick base that other companies make for the F-16 specifically

But I think it would be trivial to make the FFB stick work like the F16 one, you just make it stay in the middle, and oppose any movement. The current in the servos needed to hold it stationary is your proportional input for controls. Presto.

Agreed regarding wind gusts however that doesn’t change the fact that you still have to manipulate the controls and fly the plane, and a force feedback system is brilliant irrespective of whether you have wind gusts or not

Can you make a video on how you mounted this beast? I fear that if I ordered one that I wouldn't be able to mount it anywhere. Because I play all kinds of games, my flying/racing setup is not permanent.
Sure, but it’s not difficult, you just need to have a base to bolt it to. My one is a home-made wooden frame for the joystick base and pedals. Other people use metal rigs with racing seats and stuff. You can just unscrew the joystick/ extension when you don’t fly and it doesn’t impede your ability to use a steering wheel or pedals or whatever you have.
Great video, but the price is a bit over the top. Not saying it's not worth it, but at almost $1,000 for a gimbal only, no power supply or enclosure, this thing is clearly targeting the top 1% of all flight simmers, not those of us with more modest (realistic) budgets.
I mean I agree that 1000 bux doesn’t grow on trees, and yeah this is definitely a commitment. But if you can afford it, the difference in flying experience is really worth far more than 1000 bux. It’s like flying a real plane. Game changer.
Go to the website. Click on the left where it says FFB Flight Controls. Then under that click the link that says DIY. There is a 3D cad model and a complete parts list if you really want to do it yourself. I'm assuming that the build it yourself kit would include the parts and you would then assemble it yourself, but not sure.
I was already tempted of buying a FFB after your previous video but now that you tested it on my main module I'm not tempted anymore, I'm convinced that this is what I need 😅 I don't know what are your plans for the next videos about this FFB stick but I'm would really like to have your feedback on what's like to fly the Tomcat with this. Been convinced decades ago after my sister let me try her force feedback sticks. Hurts the few first times but afterward it’s ok.

Actually it was necessary for making the sharp turn. And only 10-20kph too high compared to a “perfect” touch down 🙂

Yes. The main difference - more torque and full metal construction. Other than that - not so much differences.

Yep! Extremely well. Super easy to tell when you’re getting close to stall speed or when you’re at high AoA in a modern fighter.

It replicates the forces experienced by a real world pilot. That’s what it is in a nutshell
How does the FFBeast compare to the Rhino?
As far as I understand the FFBeast has more torque and a full metal construction. Otherwise differences are not huge.
In DCS there is no wind gusts modeled and air pressure is also same so you have very little you need to do with controls.

I’m told 1.5-2 months for the first batch of people (I assume you would still be in the first batch if pre-ordering now) and longer for the 2nd batch
