I've heard Tariq and Jason Black clarify so many times that if one parent is FBA then you are FBA. It's the fanatics who try to take that and make it into something else saying people aren't FBA if they are mixed or biracial. Can't put that on Tariq and TBA for other people getting it wrong.
Now Tariq says Drake has FBA lineage or FBA roots but he doesn't himself see him as FBA because Drake was born and raised in Canada. Basically, move your feet lose your seat which I actually agree with.

I am still waiting for FBA to show pre 70’s they were DJying and MC on the Mic over music before Jamaicans, had the turntables and big speakers and tweeters before Jamaicans and was battling on the mic with the sound systems before Jamaicans. That culture came to Europe as well as to America where blk folks embraced it and made it their own, including Hiphop was created from that concept.Time for FBA’s to give credit to where it’s due, and stop capping. Cause we do have the archives and history, and your history what FBA’s was doing and listening too pre 1970’s.

Jamaicans were not spinning Jamaican artists’ records it was usually funk musicians’ records like Parliament and Funkadelic, who are FBA/African Americans. Body percussion has been a part of FBA/African Americans’ culture since slavery and is the precursor to beat boxing. Not only that, b-boying or breakdancing started as pop-locking which started with FBA/African Americans. Hip-hop is very much an FBA/African American creation. There was also a song that went viral a couple of years ago of FBA/African American men singing and people could not believe it because it sounded like they were rapping in the 1940s. Jamaicans didn't bring much to something that had been in our communities for such a long time.
