I think that's cool but my Mom says it's racist. I don't know why she thought that when it was an actual translation. It's like that whole "negro means black in Spanish" thing. I'm not the one who came up with the language, I'm just a messenger.
I honestly wish that I had the option to take japanese in school, probably would have actually tried in those classes. Though I would probably also get so annoyed at that.

As a person who mostly speaks English and is trying to learn both Japanese and German and gonna be taking Spanish learning classes next year (2024). I also learned Japanese by learning about hiragana and katakana via the iPod Touch's Japanese keyboard on top of watching Japanese commercials and anime openings. Eventually I learned proper phrases via Duolingo in order for to me to understand the language better.
A new video from you Wolfy never fails to cheer me up from a draining negative day.💙 Seeing and hearing you working hard and putting extra effort for your art and videos made me realized how much I need to stand back up and do my best, instead of just moping around sulking. That is about the same way I (and most of my family) learned to speak English My sisters just watched a lot of shows in English and that's how they've learned it (they learned some other languages in that way as well) My class in between the end of 1st grade to 4th grade was pretty bad in English, we needed to learn the abc over and over again because we would've forgotten it in the summer vacation, so in 4th grade we finally learned some other words in English which helped me understan my sisters words in English more, but then I've taken it a step further and caught on to a lot of different words which pushed further in understanding English, by 6th grade I've got my first phone which opened me to a lot of youtube videos and through the context of what people like Vanossgaming, Markiplier etc... I could my Vocabulary extended a lot I still had a few grammatical errors but I was able to speak really well for a 6th grader Then when 7th grade came around I fixed all of my mistakes and become really good in English (I was getting above 90 in every test) In 8th grade my vocabulary extended even further and I became even better in English (every one of my scores in 8th grade was above 95) to the point that in 9th grade I felt like I could already do my finals. (From that point farward I got 98 points in every test I had without even trying) Needless to say that I've never learned for any test in every subject (including English) and I still got very good scores on a lot of them. I only once in 12th grade got a lower score because I was lazy and didn't do a task that I was given (I think it was 75? Whatever) Now I'm Very good at English but I'm sure that I'm missing some words I plan to learn many languages in the future including japanese so this video might be helpful in the future for me Thank you Wolfychu!
Before video: Japanese Looks hard to learn... After video: WOW I learned a lot!!! Also your Japanese was AMAZING still probably won’t learn it but GREAT WORK ON THIS VIDEO Your animation is always SO GOOD!!! Great work🌟

Right now trying to learn 2 languages on duolingo it's really hard especially since I'm 11 I'm trying to Learn Japanese and Spanish because my Spanish teacher is slow and ain't doing nothing
Switching from dubbed to subbed was the best decision I have ever made in my life, and it just made me love Japanese voice acting and the language in general. It's such a beautiful and cool language.
Of course it will, you can't critique what you don't understand. So of course it will sound magical. It's the same reason why people are enthralled by Pop Science videos here on RUclips despite such videos only presenting a surface-level understanding of complicated topics such as astrophysics, quantum mechanics, etc.
Very proud to hear you worked so hard to learn to speak Japanese, I am currently working on learning German and it's very fun. Idk if I'll ever need to use it but I'm still happy learning 😊 Edit: I'm using Duolingo as well and I'm on a 69 day streak since last night. I'm very happy
I’m only fluent in English, I had so many Spanish classes (from Elementary to even High School) and I’ve passed every single one of them. But I have NOT picked up the language… probably because instead of actually “learning how to speak it” I just treated it like any other class. Go to class, do the work, do the homework, send it in, get an A and repeat until graduation. I don’t think I have any excuse tho, my mom is fluent in both Spanish and English and my grandmother can only speak Spanish. 😭
2:49 About you said in this part of this video, you reminded me of myself when i played Initial D : Street Stage, In the beginning of this game i have to type my name but in japanese
I've been seriously studying Japanese for the past 3 months after quitting my long streak in 2020 (Since April) and now I even am in japan, so I can really relate to conversation. Even just a convenience store worker asking me if I want a bag with my 3 packets of ice cream is already confusing, slowly but surely, I'm learning, and that's already good enough for me. がんばって、ウォルフィッチュー!!!
I have a friend who is fully fluent in 12 languages, including Japanese and Mandarin, and what you described as your current learning path is very similar to his. He grew up bilingual as you did and he stated to learn other languages by immersing himself in that particular language until he felt comfortable. He did say that both Japanese and Mandarin are very difficult to learn but he did it, as you did. I used to speak Spanish fluently but that was 36 years ago. Hoping to pick up Spanish again and learn Russian along the way somewhere. I'm no expert but your Japanese sounds good to me!
I’ve also really wanted to learn Japanese, it seems like such a cool language to learn. I could sing Renai Circulation in its original language, my family is thinking about taking a trip to Japan some day and being a human translator would be fun, and no more subtitles if I ever take another go at anime (I stopped watching it after I woke up one morning and my brother was watching Attack on Titan in our living room, I really wish I didn’t see that)
i've been trying to learn irish in school since i was five and you're completely right - learning a language that's nothing like your native one is extremely difficult, especially considering how different japanese is to english and spanish. great work!
I learned how to speak and write Japanese in college, and to this day when I’m reading subs I can sometimes realize that some things get a bit lost in translation. My Japanese teacher once asked me if I was learning Japanese because I liked anime 😅 I lied and told her no.

I often get bullied for trying to learn Japanese, because I’m a different race. Thanks Wolfy for cheering me up and making me feel I can learn it and prove them wrong. It doesn’t matter what race you are, as long as you believe in yourself! ❤😊❤

It was really interesting to hear how different Japanese sentence structure is compared to English by identifying certain words and paying attention to where in the sentence they are. Massive respect to you for taking on such a big task. A while back I was trying to learn German and Gaelic at the same time, and this video really motivated me to pick that back up. Probably just gonna focus on German for a while though. Once I get some more experience under my belt, I certainly intend to try and take on Japanese too! Thank you for sharing your progress and tips with us. Keep up the good work!
I could definitely see yourself speaking Japanese. I like anime too but I just tended to not listen to subbed. Only when I can’t find dubbed. But I will say that I do like both of them equally. And I don’t understand the letters. And I did try to learn Kanji. But you know what I did, give up!!!! Lol

I started Japanese on Duolingo 2 months ago, As a native Spanish speaker , is kind of hard but in a fun way to learn japanese on Duolingo, because the app does not have Japanese for Spanish speaker so i had to choose Japanese for English speakers, my head is going like the Brain Power song hahaha i have to translate 2 times in my brain but hey at least the phonetics are identical to spanish. I do duo lingo and translate. Duo lingo helps you learn the words meanings and how to say it. After that I translate a english sentence into a japanese one. This way I know what it means, what it says, how to read it, and how to say it.
Um actually @Wolfychu, of my fact is : the problem of kanji has an MUCH KANJIS, the kanjis is originaly the chineses and they give the japanese culture
I learned Japanese with Subbed Anime... then tried to take a class and it was sooo hard and too fast... I kinda gave up on it... I struggle with languages, alot. My pronunciation made the Japanese people in Portland think I was Gaijin, then I had to apologize and say I only speak a little, in Japanese, of course =oD I haven't watched subbed in a loooong time so I've lost a lot of what I knew. My toy poodle was just tooo demanding for my attention to pay attention to Subs. They are 6 now, and I might finally be able to turn on some Anime again =oD
That growing up bilingual thing is so true. In my country it is mandatory to learn atleast 2 languages in school so by the end of your school years you are fluent in 2 languages minimum and on a mid level in the third. Languages I'm talking about are Czech (Native), English (Fluent), German (Mid level like B) and sometimes Spanish. Personaly I'm learning spanish as my third outside school because I find mexican culture and music really interesting

I started learning in College (Australian College, which is Year 11 and 12 and not University) and I was going pretty steady. Sadly once I started Uni I wasn't able to continue studying in a formal setting as I only had time for my actual classes. That also led me to just basically just forget about studying in my free time which has lead me to forget a lot of vocabulary. Knowing that this format of supplementing personal study with just immersing yourself with people speaking it has given me a little confidence that I may be able to pick it up again. Thanks for this video, even if it was 6 months ago that you posted it lol.

By the way: when you translate my name into Japanese, you get "Nikorai".
Japanese school system are different than America's school. Japanese school system are 6 years elementary, 3 years junior high school, 3 years high school, and 2 or 3 years in junior college and 4 years college.
@@Fires_Phoenix We only had the choice of German, needless to say, I didn't learn much German, not that I cared at the time.
As a person who mostly speaks English and is trying to learn both Japanese and German and gonna be taking Spanish learning classes next year (2024). This is a huge burst of motivation for me and gives a broader view of how I can tackle learning languages efficiently without feeling exhausted at the end 😅. I'm gonna try using Wolfychu's language routine a try and see if it works out! 👍
As someone who speaks fluent in English and is almost fluent in German, you should actually find it fairly easy to learn. I started learning German 3 years ago thanks you my oma and opa, and you’d be surprised just how close the two languages are.

Mother - Mutter

As an Autistic teenager who's recently been pulled out of school to do homeschooling, you have no idea how much this has helped me! Thankyou so much Wolfychu 😊😊
As an autistic adult who didn't have a great school experience, may I ask you how's the homeschooling going on? Just curious

Good luck wolfy in your Japanese learning journey and become jozu in it \(^o^)/
I use Tandem for that, it's this app where you chat with people from all over the world in different languages which has been super useful to me learning Portuguese bc there aren't any speakers in my city smh. They also have this thing called language parties which is like a voice chat, that's how I listen to people speak 😁

This is a really interesting video and it gives a lot of great advice! I'd love to learn Japaneae and this gives me more reasons to do so!

I’m already fluent in English and French, so, it should be a tiny bit easier to learn Japanese, but it’s going to be really hard for me! You are really good at this, by the way it’s very impressive!
I also learned Japanese by learning about hiragana and katakana via the iPod Touch's Japanese keyboard on top of watching Japanese commercials and anime openings. Eventually I learned proper phrases via Duolingo in order for to me to understand the language better.
A new video from you Wolfy never fails to cheer me up from a draining negative day.💙
Seeing and hearing you working hard and putting extra effort for your art and videos made me realized how much I need to stand back up and do my best, instead of just moping around sulking.
Thank you Wolfychu for always being a big inspiration. No matter what other people around me say about you. Just know I'll always know and appreciate every effort you put in on your job.

After this, I began learning Japanese non-passively.
I admire your determination in learning kanji, as well as Japanese as a whole. I get burned out too easily. Though, I think I’ll give it another go trying your method this time.

This is Literly Me But with Englisch Instead Of Japanese
This'll help me in my japanese classes during the vacation and the next school year, Thanks!
I also use Duolingo to learn Korean through I also want to learn Japanese and other languages when I get fluent so I'm learning slowly 🐌😌
I once had a Japanese class, and i got relly confusing to diferent between katakana, hiragana, and kanji but in the end i manage to be kinda average-ish at my japanese test. And also wolfy amazing animation as always
That is about the same way I (and most of my family) learned to speak English
My sisters just watched a lot of shows in English and that's how they've learned it (they learned some other languages in that way as well)
My class in between the end of 1st grade to 4th grade was pretty bad in English, we needed to learn the abc over and over again because we would've forgotten it in the summer vacation, so in 4th grade we finally learned some other words in English which helped me understan my sisters words in English more, but then I've taken it a step further and caught on to a lot of different words which pushed further in understanding English, by 6th grade I've got my first phone which opened me to a lot of youtube videos and through the context of what people like Vanossgaming, Markiplier etc... I could my Vocabulary extended a lot
I still had a few grammatical errors but I was able to speak really well for a 6th grader
Then when 7th grade came around I fixed all of my mistakes and become really good in English (I was getting above 90 in every test)
In 8th grade my vocabulary extended even further and I became even better in English (every one of my scores in 8th grade was above 95) to the point that in 9th grade I felt like I could already do my finals. (From that point farward I got 98 points in every test I had without even trying)
Needless to say that I've never learned for any test in every subject (including English) and I still got very good scores on a lot of them.
I only once in 12th grade got a lower score because I was lazy and didn't do a task that I was given (I think it was 75? Whatever)
Now I'm Very good at English but I'm sure that I'm missing some words
I plan to learn many languages in the future including japanese so this video might be helpful in the future for me
Thank you Wolfychu!
Before video: Japanese Looks hard to learn...
After video: WOW I learned a lot!!! Also your Japanese was AMAZING still probably won’t learn it but GREAT WORK ON THIS VIDEO Your animation is always SO GOOD!!! Great work🌟

Same, to be honest… aside from the fact that I have StPD.
Yeah Japanese isn’t easy, hope I can learn the language one day. Lovely video as always. ❤
Idk if I'll ever need to use it but I'm still happy learning 😊

Yay nice timing! 😄 I hope you like the video! ❤
2 vids in a row?! you already know it's good day

My only question about your self-education of Japanese:
*How long it took you?*
(some sources claim it can take 2 years at minimum)

I've been seriously studying Japanese for the past 3 months after quitting my long streak in 2020 (Since April) and now I even am in japan, so I can really relate to conversation. Even just a convenience store worker asking me if I want a bag with my 3 packets of ice cream is already confusing, slowly but surely, I'm learning, and that's already good enough for me.

I wanna learn Japanese soo bad. It's cool how you learned it

I could definitely see yourself speaking Japanese. I like anime too but I just tended to not listen to subbed. Only when I can’t find dubbed. But I will say that I do like both of them equally.
