- The ongoing COVID-19 crisis has resulted in most Magnum photographers being restricted in their movements.
As part of a broader photographer-led response, a new series, Quarantine Conversations, will see Magnum photographers in frank, and unedited dialogues about work, current affairs, and everything in-between.
The pairings for these conversations will be made by lottery, and this latest installment sees David Hurn ask questions to Gregory Halpern. David and Gregory discuss their routes into Magnum, photographing human interactions, the need to hug, how a photo of a Russian buying a hat for his wife changed David's life and keeping a list of things to photograph.
I could actually listen for hours. :)
This was lovely in a way the others weren't. Maybe it's the warmth that came through in the storytelling.
yeah, they both seemed to really resonate with each other. I was surprised to find out this was the first time they've ever met because they talked like they've known each other for years.
Thank you for these ongoing conversations it's great to hear from the many inspirational photographer's at Magnum
This has been my favorite of the talks so far...I could listen to them for days on end. Thank you.
This was great! Thanks David & Gregory!
this was my favorite pairing even though they're not my favorite photographers. They are both wonderful.
Thank you for such lovely videos. It’s so nice to listen to this photographers. They are so different but then so alike... I really enjoyed how Gregory described Magnum in a way that’s between “fine art” and “hard core photojournalism”. When I look at Magnum photographs I really think that they are both, a unique style. Hard core photographs curated and selected as fine art. Thanks for sharing.
This series of videos is wonderful. Thanks.
What is the FSA list they talk about?
