I too am a massive Tom King fan. He's incredibly divisive, but I find his brand of depth, narrative strucutre and deconstruction to be refreshingly brilliant and creative. One of the best writers in the medium right now. As for suggestions for Top Ten lists of writers, i'd sugggest Grant Morrison, James Tynion, Scott Snyder, Alan Moore, Mike Carey, Neil Gaiman, Mike Mignolla, Geoff Johns and Mark Waid.

Jake, I'll be honest, the only thing I know about comics is Alan Moore. I think he's a great writer and have read several of his works. I'm now thinking about branching out to other writers, such as Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison, Garth Ennis and maybe Frank Miller. My question is, how does Tom King compare to these people? I will read your recommendations but I just would like to know how King compares with these writers. Your videos are excellent, keep up the good work. 👍
He is definitely the next generation great. Hearing him talk about the writers you mentioned you hear the respect and reverence he has for them. Out of every writer rn he’s the most I’m sure of that he will be remembered as one of the greats someday!
I really enjoyed Grayson and Human Target I got a bit lost in Strange Adventure I think he probably reads best in one chunk instead of issue by issue. I am curious where Helen of Wyndhorn is going, I am afraid so far she is pretty unlikable. I do like what he is doing with Wonder Woman. How did you feel about Danger Street? I was also a bit lost by that one. I have not read either of the Super books, but I want to look into them.

They really hate King Batman run. Killing Alfred was good. Did a lot with Batman and Catwoman. Got one Bad day Two-Face. My favorite villian. Got it as a gift. Not a fan of Snyder Court of Owls. Boring group. Ra Gul never stays dead. Interesting list

I really enjoyed Supergirl - Woman of tomorrow right until the end. --- Spoiler --- But making it a huge revenge story was cheap and so out of character for Supergirl. After finishing the book I hated it because of the ending.

@@TBATBcurrently i only have the tom king/ lee weeks book collects few issues but ive only read the elmer fudd story. I am really interested in the mister miracle book as i dont know much about the 4th world and aside from what ive heard about batman ive heard thats a really good book. Ive been trying to save for the one bad day box set for awhile becauss i feel like even if it was bad ill still get a story for every one of batmans rogues. As for others thats be interesting human target sounds pretty cool hes also a character i havent heard of as well as strange adventures. The only times ive seen adam strange were in lego games 😭
I can understand not being a fan of one or two of his works, but to blanketly say that they hate everything he’s ever done is challenging for me to understand. But that being said everybody has the right to like what they like and dislike what they dislike and I have to respect that.

I can’t seem to find the complete Tom King Batman run. Amazon has 2 books, but they’re out of sequence. Is the collection still in print?
Sadly, the deluxe are out of print, but will definitely get an omnibus someday
In Nov 26 2024 a 600 paperback book with Tom King's Batman Run is going to come out

It looked like they forgave him because he has changed so much. But on the last page Supergirl watched as he was killed.

I'm a Tom King fan for sure and to be honest i don't understand why some don't enjoy his works but everything is subjective #veggietray
I can understand not being a fan of one or two of his works, but to blanketly say that they hate everything he’s ever done is challenging for me to understand. But that being said everybody has the right to like what they like and dislike what they dislike and I have to respect that.
