We have sent ONE small space probe to within 3 million miles of the sun... we are in NO way, shape or form anywhere CLOSE to being able to build millions (if not billions) of tons of structures, transport all of that to the sun only to then have to construct it all around the sun... Actually, earth could become a Dyson sphere, and it doesn't have to harness the Sun's energy, it could generate energy from the magnetic and kinetic friction between rings.
