Great Vidéo - Now I know how to do. But I still don't know what type of oil I need : 5W-30W or 5W-40W for my FORD Transit 260-85 of 2006 Diesel (gasoil) thanks a lot 💖🤗
I've changed my filter numerous times and it leaks. Nothing I can do will stop it. Also put a new sump plug and seal on and that leaks. Any suggestions? (both torqued up correctly)
hello, i have a question: problem on my ford transit 2005 (85t260). I have a coolant leak from the "oil cooler". I have the spare part, the question being: do I have to change the oil? or can I replace the part first and then replace the oil later?
@@HaynesManuals Thanks you there is an oil cooler leak (hole / crack) near the bottom screw. I wanted to replace the part to be able to move to a friend who has a pit and finally change the oil. Do you think this is possible?

Thankyou Haynes
You're welcome!
What size socket do you need to remove the oil filter case?
I need to know this as well
36mm
36 mm is correct, the drainplug is 13 mm
@@Max-bm5xj is the washer also 13mm?

Is there a trick to get the filter out of the housing, I used a lot of effort pulling it out and broke the spring and plastic thing in the middle ?
True. Just looking for some tips cause that's the only tricky part of the whole operation and not a word about it

If there's a possibility that coolant has mixed with the engine oil, changing the oil is essential.

It depends on how much coolant is in the engine oil. Pull out the dipstick and check - any coolant should be floating on top of the oil.
can i use aluminium washers as crush washers?
Yes, as long as they don't leak
which type of engine oil is best ?
5 w 30 preconised
5 /30 fully synthetic
would be nice if you add the the tools need such as size ... otherwise great apresentation.
If this is for non experts I would expect suggestion- do changing of oil with warm / hot engine (don't do it with cold engine)
Good point - the full procedure is given in our manuals.
I agree the oil drains better when the engine is warmed up
