On my Eldorado, the Pitman arm itself was bad. So I rented (actually free) a puller that fit from O'Reilly's, thrashed it within an inch of it's life, got the arm off, and then returned the puller to O'Reilly's. Since I was not replacing, or rebuilding steering gearbox, I was afraid heat would cook the seals. So, there you go. And I've used gold paint, lightly, several times to simulate the cadmium electro-plating. Looks good enough to me.
